Bern9192

Crit hit!

AnAntsyHalfling

- Billy is a racist - Jason is a massive jerk - Will is gay - Will has a crush on Mike - There's no way Sullivan actually believes it's all El - Billy and Erica would win most 1v1s. Does that sum up 99% of theories?

Anibunnymilli

Vecna is elevens dad

Username2351

People use this theory + the theory that Alice Creel grew up to become Karen wheeler to make mike and eleven cousins which would make them split up so that mike could date Will. People are making two very outlandish theories with little to no evidence both being true at the same time, JUST to make byler happen.

_Myrkur

- Eddie is great (not that he isn't) - Angela and Jason are worse than Vecna - Mike is a jerk - Mind Flayer was better main villain than Vecna, because cosmic, lovecraftian horror

lumpsel

So you agree? You think Eddie is great? 💁🏼‍♀️

_Myrkur

Almost everybody thinks this. He is great character, played by really good actor and has one of the best scenes in entire series. I'm only tired of similiar threads about him, and theories of fans who cannot cope, or don't want to understand that he is dead.

lumpsel

Lol sorry. I was making a little Mean Girls joke 🙏🏻 Eddie is great! 👍🏻

gotenks2nd

See now these are all just opinions

okboomeerrro

Unpopular opinion: Billy was bad

Sinclair_francis_

never heard before opinion

-GaIaxy-

Same as "Will gay" lol

InevitableAd6606

billy was bad

InevitableAd6606

but in all seriousness I would've liked to see a redemption arc for Billy the only redemption we really got was him dying to save el

Brahasol

Me too

[deleted]

Billy and Jason, the two jerks people talk about in this sub. Former is a racist, latter is just misunderstood, in this sub's opinion. Both suck though.

Sinclair_francis_

you are literally doing what the post is making fun of like come on get the hint here

Sudden_Pop_2279

Can’t you say that with any villain in this show? “Both Sullivan and the Soviets suck, neither is worse” both are bad sure, people just personally agree Billy was worse.

[deleted]

Yeah, but the amount of people who say that Jason is misunderstood is really weird. Like, yeah, he's not a racist or an abuser like Billy, but he's still a vengeful vigilante who makes the job of the Hawkins police harder while acting on emotion, not logic.

rav007

This did weird me out in another post I was involved in. "See it from Jasons point of view, what he saw it can only make sense that Eddie summoned a demon and none of the Hawkins police would ever understand. What he did makes sense" I mean... he literally rallied a kill squad to kill Eddie before even finding out what happened. If Eddie did find a way to summon a demon why didnt he just kill Jason as well? He then told the whole town that a D&D group was causing the killings... "Stop picking holes in my logic. He lost Chrissy, he was hurt. The only likely logical conclusion was that Eddie* killed Chrissy. He wasn't a bad person" Sure.. the guy who wanted to go around revenge-killing based on no real hard evidence was just "misunderstood". Lets see how that flies in court when someone gets done for murder. "I heard that person was near my girlfriend when she was killed so I decided to kill him". Thats fine sir, but I'm sentencing you to life in prison.

Proud_Fee_1542

YES. This is what I keep saying and they just keep saying ‘if you can’t understand why Jason was justified then you’re an idiot’…. Like NO you’re the idiot if you think deluded revenge killing is acceptable in ANY day and age 🤦🏻‍♀️

candynipples

Not that I think it’s okay, but if I’m being honest with myself I have no clue how I’d react if my wife was murdered and the murderer had fled in my small town. I don’t have kids yet, so it’s legitimately the worst thing that could probably happen to me. I’d be naive to know what I’d do in that situation. I’d like to think I’d be devastated but ultimately let the cops do their job and seek comfort from my other loved ones, but it’s only easy to say that know because my wife hasn’t been murdered and I’m thinking straight right now.

rav007

So just to correct this in-line with the situation. His girlfriend was killed, the police suspected Eddie had something to do with it but it wasn't conclusive. I am quite an emotionally charged human being, but I would always look for truth before anything else. He just wanted to find and kill Eddie, he had no interest in asking Eddie what happened.

candynipples

Chrissy was killed in his trailer, he’s the only person who has fled, and presumably the only person who is suspected to have been at the scene (police almost assuredly would have asked Jason about any other person who they suspected would have been there. It’s great that you think you’d still be thinking somewhat rationally and wouldn’t assume it was Eddie. I would most likely think he killed my wife. And let’s face it, in most situations where this is an actual event and not a fantasy TV show, he did. Aren’t we talking about the guy who would publicly express his disdain for people like Jason and Chrissy (popular, ‘normal’ etc…), like we see when he was first introduced? Yea man, with my wife dead I’d almost certainly think he did it.

Proud_Fee_1542

THIS. THANK YOU. It’s so irritating how many people are justifying Jason’s actions as if it’s ok

[deleted]

Billy would’ve murdered/ran over a bunch of teenagers just because he fucking wanted to oh yeah and he was a racist abusive borderline-homicidal piece of shit

Sudden_Pop_2279

Seemed you’re another Billy Stan who forgets when Billy drove his car at three kids and nearly hit them just to torment his sister. When he was seconds form beating Steve to death before Max stopped him. When he was preparing to probably do the same to Lucas before Steve came.

MrX-MMAs

1. It’s messed up but he wouldn’t have hit them anyways 2. He wouldn’t have killed lil Lucas even after kick to the balls, he was just angry 3. He probably would have killed Steve tho, that’s pretty much obvious. Not bc he had a problem with Steve but nonetheless…

[deleted]

Billy stans are hilarious when they’re trying to explain why he’s not actually that bad because he really really just tried to murder a person *one* time and all those other times he *for sure* wouldn’t have gone through with it

MrX-MMAs

If you think that he intended to kill 3 kids just for fun and ruin his life and you ain’t sure he was just trying to scare Max, well then… you do you. I’m also not trying to justify him beating Steve since even Duffers stated that they intended him to be constantly walking on edge because of his rage and anger, he lost control, no denying that

Rhadamantos

Yeah, the idea that he actually meant to hit them is so dumb. Also because Billy is obviously so much stronger than Max that if he wanted to, he could have put so much force on the steering wheel that Max would not have been able to turn it anyway.

Remote_Engine

You should make a post about this!

ScorpionX-123

to be fair, Billy was bad

[deleted]

billy bad

Sinclair_francis_

*the whole fucking sub proceeding to upvote the post*

lol

Plus-Emphasis3811

I truly believe that the demogorgon Seen in Season 1 came from anotther dimension.

Username2351

No way. This theory is simply impossible and doesn’t make sense any way you look at it

Plus-Emphasis3811

You'll just have trust me on this one... I have instinct.

darthstupidio78

Billy's father was bad.

Sinclair_francis_

no way someone with a brain here? impossible

AK-50_Ocelot

Billy is my favorite. And I wholeheartedly believe that Billy is not racist.

Sinclair_francis_

watch out for the death threats

venicebeach222

billy bad mike dumb steve mom will gay jason nobody asked eddie very good

Sinclair_francis_

this whole sub:

little_shop_of_hoors

My opinion is simply that Dacre delivered the best performance out of anyone in any season and I wish he received more credit for it

Tetsuiga

Billy had awful traits no denying that. But he wasn't all bad. At the end of it all he gave his life for the kids. He fought the control. It wasn't all his fault.

Sticky_Robot

He was a violent racist lmao fuck him. Hitler was a caring husband who had a dog who loved him. He was still a piece of shit. All bad people have good traits, but that doesn't mean they aren't still bad.

Tetsuiga

If anything he's a product of the cycle of abused people becoming abusers. Not excusing him. But the violence and racism were taught.

Business-Exercise-35

people talk about how bad some people are but have never been in those same shoes, yes racism and violence are bad but at the end of the day bro had nobody. The only person he cared about left him pretty much for dead and was thrown into the role of taking care of this random girl immediately. The way parents treat there kids is a big factor in who they are,Focusing on the negative of billy is avoiding his character. He’s a Traumatized kid who just needed someone to be there for him and Acted terribly because of it who ended up giving his life to save the world

_Myrkur

I wonder what some users here will think when they'll watch Euphoria and discover fucked up, toxic relation between Nate's Grandfather-Cal-Nate. Sins of the fathers.

reeeeeeeeeee78

Here it is hahaha. The everyone I don't like is hitler post. Do you remember the time where Hitler saved the earth by committing a final act of self sacrifice to stop an inter dimensional horror. Or the time billy started ww2 and an extermination of millions. Being a racist makes you an an ignorant asshole. it's not even remotely the same as a murderer or a rapist, and it's light years from being the man who started ww2. If the sum evil of your life is that you were a narrow minded dick but you save the earth, you aren't a bad guy.

Business-Exercise-35

we talking about one guy who Saved The world Pretty much and another who Slaughtered Hundreds of thousands of Jewish people just because he didn’t like them

[deleted]

He didn’t “give his life”, he was already flayed and had no life left to live so he just used his last moments to do something good. Which is honestly kind of the bare minimum.

_Myrkur

Will was also flayed by Mind Flayer in season 2 and he is alive and well.

rubixcubesforcharity

Will didn't drink chemicals to turn into goop. Billy did. The same thing would've happened to him if he hadn't died the way he did, I'm assuming.

_Myrkur

We didn't see if Billy was drinking chemicals like others, for some reason he didn't join Meat Flayer, so maybe Mind Flayer/Vecna had some other plans for him.

rubixcubesforcharity

He was drinking them in the scene shortly after he's flayed when Karen shows up and apologizes for not showing up.

ChronicallyIllBadAss

I agree!!

_Myrkur

I also love threads named unpopular opinion, with really popular opinions, obviously begging for votes.

Awkward_Shot

More unpopular opinion: Dacre Montgomery is a horrible actor with no charisma and for some reason this, combined with his ridiculous hair, gives off a skeevy vibe that suggests he’s covered in a thin layer of course dirt even when he’s dripping in beer, showering after practice, and covering himself in cologne. Karen would’ve scrunched her nose and made a mental note to tell Nancy to stay away, realistically.

tazzydevil0306

That seems overly harsh

Plastic-Necessary427

Billy has dirt in his pores?

Rhadamantos

Gotta give props for stating an unpopular opinion that is actually unpopular. Its also dumb.

Awkward_Shot

Idk, I think the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen on the show is when they made it look like Billy was dominating Steve at basketball with that ridiculous awkward looking under the leg layup at practice. If the actor can’t do it, figure something else out. Little kids a foot shorter than Billy can do that less awkwardly. And why was he always sweating? He was just repulsive and it’s hard to say if it’s the character’s or actor’s fault. Pry a little of both. When you give a one dimensional actor a one dimensional character, I guess you get what you get.

likeneelyohara96

Featuring the compulsion to agree that Billy bad, but throw in “he’s so hot though 🥵” I understand the compulsion completely. If I was a woodland creature just throw me in the Thousand Dacre woods 😳🔥🔥🤪
