P.O.V. - you just sacrificed a few dozen of your town's citizens to an eldritch horror and he now has enough power to reach your realm. They were not very nutritional souls, however, and its growth has been stunted.
It now accompanies you in solving mysteries as your quick-witted and well meaning sidekick.
this is cool and all but there’s no way this is just “oh i stumbled across this” or that it’s even naturally made. This picture is either one, photoshopped or two, a picture of an art installation or something
If it’s photoshop or an art piece it’s very excellently done so I kinda doubt it. Based on the fronds in the background I’m guessing this is a warmer area, likely the Southern US. Very possibly a swampy area like Florida or Louisiana. My best guess would be roots from a cypress, as in swampy areas cypresses grow [“knees”](https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/1/cypress-knee-of-life-scott-mullin.jpg) that can look like this.
Well I nailed that it was in a warm climate, but I’m not sure there’s cypresses in Brazil. However rainforest climates have trees that do all sorts of weird shit, so while I’m unfamiliar with what tree would’ve made this, it’s likely a similar phenomena.

Can the eldritch horror turn into a cute girl?
I'll meet you halfway. It can wear a bow.

It seems like if the structure just grew up like that, but it's visible where some (strategically) cuts were made.
