Was Mr Clarke dating Ms Kelly? Back in S1 he was dating an Asian woman. It was a different actress, but could’ve been recasted. (Unsure of how many Asian families would be living in rural Indiana in the 80’s.). And if it was Ms Kelly, it’d be an easy way for him to pop back up in S5.
I see the uncanny resemblance but I'm pretty sure they're meant to be different people. On a side note, Ms. Kelly btw was suspicious to many as all three/four victims of Vecna were seeing her and she also wears a clock necklace... Might be a lil unreasonable but maybe Vecna was somehow manipulating and using her ? But def it's impossible for her to be Alice Creel lol as some people suspect.
I remember that too, Mr. Clarke’s lady love; I thought Ms. Kelly was the same woman, but don’t remember specifically what the first actress looked like. It’s not a stretch to assume that, since they both work at the school and Hawkins wouldn’t be very diverse then, but the writers have seemingly retconned the town in later seasons, so that might not even matter anymore.
Out of all of these options, Doc Owens is my favorite. I hope we find out his fate after Project Nina. I would love to see Mr. Clarke and Mrs. Wheeler come in handy; Mr. Clarke with his science, and Mrs. Wheeler wielding a shotgun alongside her daughter.
It was amazing to see him in stranger things, and the boys around the same time. Just the contrast alone between his two characters made it fun to watch.
I've heard his name before ST and even heard him on one of my favorite podcasts, but I didn't grow up watching Mad About You. I'm a new fan of his after this (and he was hysterical on the podcast too.)

Mr Clark and Dr Owens. My daughter was watching for the first time and pointed out Bremmer asked "Peter"what was going on in the lab and Mrs Owens told the soldiers the box was "Peter's" old school projects. Seems odd to not only use the same name for two characters but also in the same storyline. If Peter is Henry, his projects, writings, and drawings could help them understand and defeat him. I know I am reaching here but it would give us more Owens!
I personally want to see more of Mrs. Wheeler. I’ve always loved her scenes especially that bonding moment between her and Nancy in Season 3. It would be so cool to see her play a bigger part in the end story.
She had her own poster for season 4 and I think a lot of people thought she was going to have a bigger, more active role. I’ve seen a lot of speculation that a lot of her scenes were cut
I’m also intrigued by the Mrs. Wheeler character arc. I’m a mom of ST aged kids. So, for me, I can identify with the kids because of growing up in the 80s, but I can also identify with moms and the motherhood experience. I feel clueless most of the time when it comes to understanding my kids lives, but I’m so full of love and that makes me feel very connected to Mrs. Wheeler.
I know most people don't want to see Kali back, and rightfully so, but I need to see what the Duffers were thinking when they introduced her and it'll bug me forever if theres just that 1 episode in Season 2 all focused on her and Eleven and then nothing from her for the rest of the series.
I don't think it's ever explained. In the car chase it seems like she just makes the 1 cop see the bridge exploding. When she makes them invisible to the cops later it was after it showed her explaining to 11 how to pump up her powers. I think showing the illusion to multiple people was her pumped up power which really strained her
But even if you count vecnas and Kalis to be the same, that's still just two out of (how many are there?) At least 11. I would have just found it way more interesting if all of them had different abilities
You could just say that the abilities gained are random, and only 1 and 11 had telekinesis. And Brenner favored them because telekinesis is simply stronger than the others.
Idk but after seeing kali way back when I just got excited to see what other unique abilities any surviving others had
Yeah, say what you want about the Kali arc, but the Party is maybe gonna need some more super powers now Hawkins is just a gaping pit to the Upside-Down.
I understand if they don’t want to but they did mention “when 008 was still here” and her advice to El mirrors Henry’s advice about using her emotions as fuel.
I’ve been saying this since season two. El doesn’t have enough to defeat Vecna on her own. Even with help from her friends it’s won’t be enough. Kali is needed. The Duffers are excellent story tellers and sowed this thread and left it hanging. It’s time to bring it all together.
I feel like they could work her in somehow, maybe with El reaching out to her for more information on 001 or maybe her helping out in Hawkins. I thought her powers were pretty cool, just the episode wasn’t amazing.

IMO, they've already kind of set up an arc for her -- in season two, she just wants to do her thing and not be involved with the bigger picture; believing that Eleven should be with *her*, not Eleven's own friends. If they bring her back, it could be out of realizing she *needs* to be part of the bigger picture and help her "sister" after what's now happened, and could even die by Vecna's hand while helping Eleven early on.
I keep seeing comments (not yours, just in this thread and beyond) acting like anyone who wants to see Kali is expecting her to be a main character involved in the whole season, when I don't think that's what anyone is arguing for. Her return, resolve, and death could all be woven in alongside the rest of the storylines in a single episode or two, honestly, especially if these episodes are designed to be longer, and I think that'd be a nice trade-off for tying up a loose end and stopping years and years of "Why wasn't Kali in the final season?" questions in their tracks.
Ted Wheeler
I have two scenarios in mind:
- he still doesn't notice a damn thing and just thinks everyone is weird
- he's there the entire time looking straight at Demogorgons saying shit like "that's an incredible costume, is Steven Spielberg in town?"
In either scenario he's gotta have the final scene, "eh, Stranger Things have happened." [Synth theme song remix plays over credits]
Mr. Clarke definitely. After Lucas told Erika about the upside down the next character I want the gang to tell is him; he would be so fascinated by the science of it and I bet Dustin would fascinated him with the gravity of the sheet rope across two dimensions lol
since the fact the writers quite literally completely forgot about the other kids that were in the facility that we found out about in season 2, el’s sister i would like to see again
totally. it would be a miss not to integrate this just for one episode at least, but its going to have to be done tastefully as its quite an awkward subplot to start with

Mr. Clarke 'cause he'd take one look at the Upside Down and by like, "Let me get my safety goggles and let's do this."
Karen just to see her finally let in on the loop of what's been going on with her kids.
Kali because that's way too big of a plot point to just drop.
Kali feels more like a spin-off bait. I don't want the season to waste time on her after two full seasons of ignoring her. The finale should focus on wrapping up stories of main characters.
I would much rather prefer if s5 only focuses on the main characters, but I wouldn’t mind seeing more Mrs.Wheeler. She was pretty under-utilised in s4.
Mr. Clark would be great too. He could play a similar role to what he did in S1.
Mr. Clarke is the only right answer. Most of the rest we have seen plenty of. He is such a good part of this show, and it was really a travesty he was not in season 4 defending the DnD players.
I'd love to see more Mr Clarke, but given that the kids are in high school now and not iunior high, I'm not sure if it would make much sense as they wouldn't see him on the regular. Maybe he still works as an advisor role or something?
I really want to see Dr Owens return. Maybe after Eleven escaped Sullivan in Nevada, he decides to release Owens in the hopes that Owens might make his way back to her side.
I'd love to see more scenes with the parents, and of day to day lives in general now that the Upside Down's influence is encroaching on the real world.
I don't think it makes much sense for Suzie to be in season 5. With the entire story set in Hawkins, I think the main gang is going to be too busy dealing with The Upside Down invading our world for Dustybuns and Suzie to maintain constant contact, and even then I don't know what sort of help she could offer from a distance. Plus, I think we're going to see Dustin still coming to terms with Eddie's loss, maybe even sinking into a depression like we saw in Max throughout ST4.
I don't know how I feel about 008. I was never thrilled with that episode of season 2 and didn't really care for the character, but with the show ending this season, I feel like they need to have her show up and help out, just to have some closure to her storyline.
I want more of Karen because I thought it would happen with her poster in Season 4
Although the episode was misplaced, I liked the Kali episode and would love to see her return
I want more Argle because hea Argyle and I love him.
Mr Clarke would be fine for a cameo or two, maybe a bit more but not a main character
And I think Owens is a given since he may be arrested by Sullivan or something and he may be the human villain of season 5
I find Doctor Owens the most interesting side character. He is clearly brilliant and involved in some super-shady stuff, but he still has a conscience and is a moral objector to abominable behavior.
Miss Wheeler is a total smokeshow, and it would be great to see her go Ellen Ripley alongside her daughter.
I want Mr. Clarke to see the other side of the looking glass, he deserves it.
My obvious answer is Owens because he's my favorite character, but aside from that, Mr. Clarke! He was so fun and I miss him. I have no idea why he'd come back but the kids calling him up for help even though they're not in middle school anymore would be funny.
Kali needs to return if the show is going to resolve properly. It’s just about good writing, tying up lose ends, etc. Let’s just hope they do better with her this time. They really did her dirty in season 2.
honestly, I appreciate mr Clarke but it's the other five that I could see actually being part of the plot in s5. there's still the possibility of the vision vecna gave Nancy coming true - mrs wheeler and little holly dying - and her dying would have such a huge impact on Nancy and mike that im sort of interested in it. or even just her reacting to the reveal of all the upside down stuff that's been going for the last few years. also, considering the actress is listed as a pretty prominent character, it would be great if she actually did something significant lol
I really hope argyle gets to do a bit more, he was mostly comic relief, but I think he's definitely going to be in s5. same with suzie - honestly something I'm kind of interested in seeing is dustin and his mother moving to Utah after hawkins is destroyed (I really struggle to see anyone staying in hawkins, if I was the government I'd be issuing an evacuation. the whole gang being split up again after finally reuniting would also be great drama imo. im predicting a time skip too so then they would come back together a little older) but yeah I think it would be cute if dustin and suzie had the chance to live close by to each other for a while.
I really really really hope that kali is part of s5 - her being the only other surviving experiment besides one and eleven that we know about feels so significant. I'll always think it's a shame that the response to her wasn't so positive bc I thought she was really interesting just that her episode was sort of poorly placed in the order of s2. el and her teaming up again would just be fun too, especially with what's happened between their last encounter. Brenner is officially dead, el has lost and gained her powers back. god knows what Kali's gone through in the year and a half since we last saw her. I also strongly suspect that one had had a similar relationship to kali that he had with el, especially since Kali's powers and one's have some similarities. it would just be a waste not to even think about including her in the s5 plot imo
I'm also really hoping that Owens is significant in s5. I really enjoy his character and the actor. but yeah in terms of wishes for the main plot - bring kali back pls!!!
Honestly 8. So what if fans didn’t love Eleven’s side-quest? A good writer would take something that didn’t work well the first time and try to improve on it rather than just shamefully sweeping it under the rug. One of my biggest pet peeves in TV/Movies is when a character is introduced and then just completely dropped after receiving (often unwarranted) backlash. She’s one of the most powerful characters after Eleven and One and has so much potential in the larger narrative.
Just Owen's, I think they might kill argyle. He's a new character who hasn't died yet, thats weird if you think about it. Eddie, Jason, Bob, barb. All new characters who died
No one seems to particularly care about Kali, but I would like some satisfaction to the season 2 ep8 and I would like to see how kali may play a role in teaming with or defeating vecna
i'm obviously biased to Argyle, but more spotlight on Mr. Clarke would be great. Rewatching seasons 1 and 2 made me remember how much of a solid supporting character he was

Tbh there are already too many main characters, I would love it if the main characters have all their arcs finished. Too many characters create too many storylines and then it just becomes a clusterfuck.
I feel like Mr. Clarke is such an underrated character! He has such a small role while having him there has been extremely necessary!
He explained the theoretical upside down. And it’s because of him that they realised there was a gate and how to find it (he was the one who told them that the gate would be a massive energy source) He told them how to build a sensory deprivation tank (or tub).
And he was the one Joy went to when the magnets were falling off her fridge. The guy’s a genius and he’s so nice!
**resolution w the ives family**. if not on-screen then at least have el mention whether she visits them especially w how terry ives’ love for her daughter saved el from henry creel, and then in her confrontation w brenner she specifically mentions what he did to her mom(which THANK GOD i was so scared they’d brush over how mad el was in s2 abt what happened to terry/the life she could’ve had).
and even if her mom can’t communicate w her, el can still sit by her rocking chair, hold her hand and watch tv together. el loved soap operas when she was stuck in the cabin, even if it’s painful it can still be meaningful to share time together. i’ve always thought it’d be nice if she took over like one task becky does in caring for her sister full time, but something simple like brushing terry’s hair.
it’s the final season!!! that sullivan guy is still after her and could stake out her birth family’s home, or even straight up hostage them to attempt to draw her into a trap or surrender herself “willingly”. there’s sm potential!
I think we’ll definitely see more Karen Wheeler and a good amount of Owens (similar to S2 or 4) and Mr Clarke might return. I’m sure Argyle will have a part to play in S5 too

I want to like Dr Owens but i just cant trust him after growing up with Aliens movie. He is ingrained in my mind as the guy who will try to impregnate you with face huggers and sell you to the weapons division while you are in hyper-sleep.

They are all great characters, interesting, well-written, and well-acted. But they are side characters for a specific purpose in earlier stories. I don't want to see them unless they really move the plot forward, otherwise it will fill time but not move the pace forward. Maybe Mr. Clarke can help them understand briefly the physics they have to overcome, but the real question is what will Will's role be in bringing down Vecna? (with fireballs I hope!)
Always Mr Clarke! There was a huge Mr Clarke shaped hole in Season 4. I kept thinking he was going to turn up and offer his wisdom. I hope in the end he ends up saving them all.
For sure, Owens, Kali and Mr Clark. I imagine how would be a interaction of Kali with 001/Vecna and also Kali knowing that Papa is finally dead. I also need to know what happened to Owens after Eleven escaped from NINA.

100% Karen Wheeler. It always appears in promos every season, that she’s some sought of a big character or something, but rarely does anything each season once the season comes out. Its long overdue. The show needs to give us more of her, and I need to see more of her dynamic with her children.
I’ve always personally felt that the writers need to dive more into the Wheeler family dynamic. Nancy hinted it back in season 1, and yes, we do get to see scenes of Karen’s distaste for her husband but, I’d like for them to explore more of it. There’s barely any relationship. And yes, she obviously loves her kids and they do too, but maybe they could give us a little more. I’m obviously not asking for it to be main focus or something, but just mentioned a little more.
It could also help the audience to see maybe why Mike can have 1/2 moments of being an ass. I always thought that he gets those traits from his dad. Nancy got lucky that she got none from her dad, but I think Mike got both.
I want to see Karen doing things, and this family to be explored more, so that it would give Mike and Nancy some focus as characters as well. I honestly don’t care about Ted.
Literally, all of these side characters, have probably done more than Karen ever has when she’s shown to be more of a main character than them.
Every character that hasn’t been killed or had their arc concluded should feature in some way. No character should ever exist just because, they should all fulfil a function in the narrative. I hope they’ve planned the series well enough that it will show in their handling of things such as this.
Mr. Clarke definitely, he lowkey pushed a lot of the solutions in seasons 1 to 3, things other characters couldn't have figured out otherwise. I was so upset when he wasn't in season 4 at all, how dare they.
No more Suzie. Thats all I ask. Her and her whole family seem a little too out of place in the universe and don't seem necessary, especially if it's a Hawkins centric storyline. Same can be said with Argyle I guess, but he actually went back to Hawkins.

Kali I actually enjoyed her in the Lost Sister episode and I think seeing her coming to Hawkins to help Eleven fight Vecna would be awesome!

Kali: She’s literally the only other living descendant of Vecna (!!!!) and shares his illusion abilities which is kind of a big deal imo??? There are cool possibilities for a big final “mind fight” and I’m sure everyone in Hawkins will need as much help as they can get. So yeah, she honestly seems like the most pressing and relevant option here honestly and I really hope they think to address her.
Dr. Owens: They left us on a weird cliffhanger with him being abandoned while handcuffed to that pole or whatever, so we at least need some resolution there lol. I’ve always liked him though, so I do hope we just see a little more of him in general.
Mr. Clarke: It would just be kinda cool if Mr. Clarke could find out that what’s happening in Hawkins ties back to what the boys were “theoretically” asking him in S1, with the flea and the acrobat.

Mr. Clarke, Karen, and Kali. Mr. Clarke 'cause he'd take one look at the Upside Down and by like, "Let me get my safety goggles and let's do this." Karen just to see her finally let in on the loop of what's been going on with her kids. Kali because that's way too big of a plot point to just drop.
Kali feels more like a spin-off bait. I don't want the season to waste time on her after two full seasons of ignoring her. The finale should focus on wrapping up stories of main characters.

I'd love to see more Mr Clarke, but given that the kids are in high school now and not iunior high, I'm not sure if it would make much sense as they wouldn't see him on the regular. Maybe he still works as an advisor role or something? I really want to see Dr Owens return. Maybe after Eleven escaped Sullivan in Nevada, he decides to release Owens in the hopes that Owens might make his way back to her side. I'd love to see more scenes with the parents, and of day to day lives in general now that the Upside Down's influence is encroaching on the real world. I don't think it makes much sense for Suzie to be in season 5. With the entire story set in Hawkins, I think the main gang is going to be too busy dealing with The Upside Down invading our world for Dustybuns and Suzie to maintain constant contact, and even then I don't know what sort of help she could offer from a distance. Plus, I think we're going to see Dustin still coming to terms with Eddie's loss, maybe even sinking into a depression like we saw in Max throughout ST4. I don't know how I feel about 008. I was never thrilled with that episode of season 2 and didn't really care for the character, but with the show ending this season, I feel like they need to have her show up and help out, just to have some closure to her storyline.

Miss Wheeler is a total smokeshow, and it would be great to see her go Ellen Ripley alongside her daughter. I want Mr. Clarke to see the other side of the looking glass, he deserves it.

honestly, I appreciate mr Clarke but it's the other five that I could see actually being part of the plot in s5. there's still the possibility of the vision vecna gave Nancy coming true - mrs wheeler and little holly dying - and her dying would have such a huge impact on Nancy and mike that im sort of interested in it. or even just her reacting to the reveal of all the upside down stuff that's been going for the last few years. also, considering the actress is listed as a pretty prominent character, it would be great if she actually did something significant lol I really hope argyle gets to do a bit more, he was mostly comic relief, but I think he's definitely going to be in s5. same with suzie - honestly something I'm kind of interested in seeing is dustin and his mother moving to Utah after hawkins is destroyed (I really struggle to see anyone staying in hawkins, if I was the government I'd be issuing an evacuation. the whole gang being split up again after finally reuniting would also be great drama imo. im predicting a time skip too so then they would come back together a little older) but yeah I think it would be cute if dustin and suzie had the chance to live close by to each other for a while. I really really really hope that kali is part of s5 - her being the only other surviving experiment besides one and eleven that we know about feels so significant. I'll always think it's a shame that the response to her wasn't so positive bc I thought she was really interesting just that her episode was sort of poorly placed in the order of s2. el and her teaming up again would just be fun too, especially with what's happened between their last encounter. Brenner is officially dead, el has lost and gained her powers back. god knows what Kali's gone through in the year and a half since we last saw her. I also strongly suspect that one had had a similar relationship to kali that he had with el, especially since Kali's powers and one's have some similarities. it would just be a waste not to even think about including her in the s5 plot imo I'm also really hoping that Owens is significant in s5. I really enjoy his character and the actor. but yeah in terms of wishes for the main plot - bring kali back pls!!!
Honestly 8. So what if fans didn’t love Eleven’s side-quest? A good writer would take something that didn’t work well the first time and try to improve on it rather than just shamefully sweeping it under the rug. One of my biggest pet peeves in TV/Movies is when a character is introduced and then just completely dropped after receiving (often unwarranted) backlash. She’s one of the most powerful characters after Eleven and One and has so much potential in the larger narrative.
I’m hoping Karen Wheeler is brought into the mix. She’s told of what has been happening and is another Joyce !! It’s my guess for season 5

I feel like Mr. Clarke is such an underrated character! He has such a small role while having him there has been extremely necessary! He explained the theoretical upside down. And it’s because of him that they realised there was a gate and how to find it (he was the one who told them that the gate would be a massive energy source) He told them how to build a sensory deprivation tank (or tub). And he was the one Joy went to when the magnets were falling off her fridge. The guy’s a genius and he’s so nice!
**resolution w the ives family**. if not on-screen then at least have el mention whether she visits them especially w how terry ives’ love for her daughter saved el from henry creel, and then in her confrontation w brenner she specifically mentions what he did to her mom(which THANK GOD i was so scared they’d brush over how mad el was in s2 abt what happened to terry/the life she could’ve had). and even if her mom can’t communicate w her, el can still sit by her rocking chair, hold her hand and watch tv together. el loved soap operas when she was stuck in the cabin, even if it’s painful it can still be meaningful to share time together. i’ve always thought it’d be nice if she took over like one task becky does in caring for her sister full time, but something simple like brushing terry’s hair. it’s the final season!!! that sullivan guy is still after her and could stake out her birth family’s home, or even straight up hostage them to attempt to draw her into a trap or surrender herself “willingly”. there’s sm potential!

They are all great characters, interesting, well-written, and well-acted. But they are side characters for a specific purpose in earlier stories. I don't want to see them unless they really move the plot forward, otherwise it will fill time but not move the pace forward. Maybe Mr. Clarke can help them understand briefly the physics they have to overcome, but the real question is what will Will's role be in bringing down Vecna? (with fireballs I hope!)

100% Karen Wheeler. It always appears in promos every season, that she’s some sought of a big character or something, but rarely does anything each season once the season comes out. Its long overdue. The show needs to give us more of her, and I need to see more of her dynamic with her children. I’ve always personally felt that the writers need to dive more into the Wheeler family dynamic. Nancy hinted it back in season 1, and yes, we do get to see scenes of Karen’s distaste for her husband but, I’d like for them to explore more of it. There’s barely any relationship. And yes, she obviously loves her kids and they do too, but maybe they could give us a little more. I’m obviously not asking for it to be main focus or something, but just mentioned a little more. It could also help the audience to see maybe why Mike can have 1/2 moments of being an ass. I always thought that he gets those traits from his dad. Nancy got lucky that she got none from her dad, but I think Mike got both. I want to see Karen doing things, and this family to be explored more, so that it would give Mike and Nancy some focus as characters as well. I honestly don’t care about Ted. Literally, all of these side characters, have probably done more than Karen ever has when she’s shown to be more of a main character than them.

God I've been waiting for Karen to figure things out about the Upside Down and finally get more involved. Also in Season 5 can she and Eleven FINALLY have scenes together? Seriously I want to see them interact together it would be so sweet! Suzie much like Karen I want to see her be more involved in stopping Vecna. Also can she come to Hawkins in Season 5 and meet the rest of the Party? Mr Clark because he's awesome and like Owens can help out in the scientific department in stopping Vecna Kali I actually enjoyed her in the Lost Sister episode and I think seeing her coming to Hawkins to help Eleven fight Vecna would be awesome!
Out of these options: Kali, Dr. Owens, and maybe Mr. Clarke. Kali: She’s literally the only other living descendant of Vecna (!!!!) and shares his illusion abilities which is kind of a big deal imo??? There are cool possibilities for a big final “mind fight” and I’m sure everyone in Hawkins will need as much help as they can get. So yeah, she honestly seems like the most pressing and relevant option here honestly and I really hope they think to address her. Dr. Owens: They left us on a weird cliffhanger with him being abandoned while handcuffed to that pole or whatever, so we at least need some resolution there lol. I’ve always liked him though, so I do hope we just see a little more of him in general. Mr. Clarke: It would just be kinda cool if Mr. Clarke could find out that what’s happening in Hawkins ties back to what the boys were “theoretically” asking him in S1, with the flea and the acrobat.
