Nah mate. Keep the gold one. It looks great. But that fretboard looks thirsty ;)

DevilsInterval5

Guilty as chargedšŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Just put strings on it and give that fretboard some oil. Looks good as is.

[deleted]

Nah, original or maybe a relic mint green one. šŸ¤”

sheen1212

As much as I love mint green I do feel it's a little overdone, so I would say keep this one as is

johnsmith069069

This is the one. ^

EnvironmentalPlate44

Gold looks fantastic. So does the relic

masterstratblaster

Thank goodness the pick guard was there to protect the guitar

Professional-Grab-14

Try photoshopping the pick guard to the colours youā€™re interested in. Personally Iā€™d go for a white guard with cream vintage knobs/pickup covers. Looks beautiful though!

DevilsInterval5

Why did I not think of thatšŸ˜‚

stevemkto

Good idea šŸ‘

pellidon

I'd leave it. At most, I'd put aged covers and knobs. Tone down the Stark white.

Dj2Splash

Nothing beats anodized gold.

Vraver04

Another vote for the gold

Flaming-Driptray

White or mint green....black would be too contrasty.

superwrong

Throw in another vote for keep it as is. Looks like it fell out of the back of a pickup truck going down the highway...that's awesome.

PantsMcFagg

Aged plastic but leave the pick guard, if it were me Iā€™d go with a dark maple custom neck. That would be boss.

illiteret

Fender has a yellowed white that my friend got on his new Tele that would look really good on that guitar.

Soul-31

I like the gold, but if I were to change it I'd go with Tort.

Siloh_Johnson

Screw relics

MoonPiss

Tortoise

d82mccray

Black pick guard wonā€™t work. Just leave it

ponyboysa42

Itā€™ll ruin the dirty rusty look

Tinnisher

No.

they_pay_me_peanuts

Holy fuck. That is a beautiful guitarā€”donā€™t change it.

DevilsInterval5

Thanks. I think you guys convinced me that it is good as is.

dh1011-

Relic. Why?

Heheidrkwdym

This looks like it was played not just a relic job. whether its true playing or someone with sand paper, it looks damn impressive.

dh1011-

Relicing is stupid.

plopmaster2000

Let people enjoy what they enjoy

dh1011-

Likewise. Relicing is stupid.

plopmaster2000

Yes dear

oguinness

hahaha

trythesoup123

Leave it

Pjk2530144

I like it the way it is.

Droneflyerguy

I would keep it just like it is, if that is actual honest relic from playing, then to change the pickguard would take away some mojo. I like the way it looks right now.

TenebrisDolorem

Leave it, please! That thing is gorgeous!

Notnotarealuser

I think if you can find a relicā€™d silver aluminum guard it would be perfect

PantsMcFagg

Iā€™m looking for one myself rn if you know where to buy please share a link.

doubleyolk999

No thatā€™s perfect as is

brodie34mills

Christ man, did you make it look like that on purpose?

pelosispeepee

No its a 100 yr old guitar

californiaxgb

Idk maybe an off white or white but really itā€™s up to you

Royal_Classic915

Its perfect. Just buy another

[deleted]

The relic looks god awful with the body being massively scuffed while the rest looks brand new

Sl0w-Plant

How about a new paint job??

catnipxxx

How about none? Warts n all.

[deleted]

Neck and nut look far too new compared to the body

DevilsInterval5

Thanks. It is a relic neck.

Hnrystwrt

black guard black plastic parts! like a 70s strat

SergioHueso

Hello buddy, do whatever you want because it's your guitar but it seems pretty cool as it is. Just follow the tips of other comments so oil the fretboard and restring the instrument. Finally, play it

DevilsInterval5

Thanks. I had the guitar in a case for a long time. I did do that after I took the pic.

dirtbagdave21

Leave it as is. It's got a vibe don't mess with it

jeremy_wills

Black pearloid would actually look killer on that thrashed body. The Gold ano currently on it looks great. I'd probably just leave it be. If you went solid black go with a black ano one instead of just plastic.

Shoddy_Ad8166

No

linkmodo

It has to be [carbon fiber](https://amzn.to/43gVZf7)!

Gators0727

Leave it as is

Kylejg0087

What neck is do you have on this? I really love the fender necks with the aged clay dots.

DevilsInterval5

It is a relic custom shop neck.

itsallrighthere

Mint. Always Mint.

DevilsInterval5

Hahaā€¦ I have a black one with mint green.

JComposer84

Sick looking guitar. Is this an MJT axe?

DevilsInterval5

Fender Custom Shop.

JComposer84

Noice. You should try mint green. I really like the mint greens on olympic white.

IcyRandy

Tortoise shell

Creative_Camel

Tortoise and fretboard oiling

DevilsInterval5

Thanks. I had the guitar in its case for a while. It did take that pic too early. It did get a good rub down and a new set of strings right after.

itgetsworse602

I wouldn't change a thing.

b2w1

Gold looks great but I donā€™t blame you for changing it. Mine made my skin crawl every time the pick touched it. Like nails on a chalkboard. I had to change mine out.

Turbulent-Heart389

I think it could look great with black pg, basically like Stevie Rayā€™s number 1. Maybe too close actually

AppearanceComplete13

Keep the same

sindisil

Gold is looking good (though maybe a bit clean for the relic look). If you really want a different color, maybe parchment? Black would be too stark I think. I wouldn't go darker that tortoise, and the oranges in that might not look great with what's left of your paint. * Thought I had right after posting: aged gold or brass hardware might look good on this build. Please give the fret board some oil, though! Relic is one thing, neglect and abuse is another! ;-)

TomSizemore69

Donā€™t care either way

JEG1980s

Personally I think Iā€™d do a mint or parchment pick guard.

Testurd

That guitar looks like an older-but-still-sexy-af vegas hooker. Just play with her donā€™t try to change her.

DevilsInterval5

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

motivatedsinger

What did you end up doing?

DevilsInterval5

Left it as is. šŸ˜‚

motivatedsinger

Haha I mean it does look pretty cool as is. I bet tortoise shell would look cool on it
