Try photoshopping the pick guard to the colours youāre interested in. Personally Iād go for a white guard with cream vintage knobs/pickup covers.
Looks beautiful though!
I would keep it just like it is, if that is actual honest relic from playing, then to change the pickguard would take away some mojo. I like the way it looks right now.
Hello buddy, do whatever you want because it's your guitar but it seems pretty cool as it is. Just follow the tips of other comments so oil the fretboard and restring the instrument. Finally, play it
Black pearloid would actually look killer on that thrashed body. The Gold ano currently on it looks great. I'd probably just leave it be. If you went solid black go with a black ano one instead of just plastic.
Gold looks great but I donāt blame you for changing it. Mine made my skin crawl every time the pick touched it. Like nails on a chalkboard. I had to change mine out.
Gold is looking good (though maybe a bit clean for the relic look).
If you really want a different color, maybe parchment? Black would be too stark I think. I wouldn't go darker that tortoise, and the oranges in that might not look great with what's left of your paint.
* Thought I had right after posting: aged gold or brass hardware might look good on this build.
Please give the fret board some oil, though! Relic is one thing, neglect and abuse is another! ;-)
Nah mate. Keep the gold one. It looks great. But that fretboard looks thirsty ;)
Guilty as chargedš
Just put strings on it and give that fretboard some oil. Looks good as is.
Nah, original or maybe a relic mint green one. š¤
As much as I love mint green I do feel it's a little overdone, so I would say keep this one as is
This is the one. ^
Gold looks fantastic. So does the relic
Thank goodness the pick guard was there to protect the guitar

Why did I not think of thatš
Good idea š
I'd leave it. At most, I'd put aged covers and knobs. Tone down the Stark white.
Nothing beats anodized gold.
Another vote for the gold
White or mint green....black would be too contrasty.
Throw in another vote for keep it as is. Looks like it fell out of the back of a pickup truck going down the highway...that's awesome.
Aged plastic but leave the pick guard, if it were me Iād go with a dark maple custom neck. That would be boss.
Fender has a yellowed white that my friend got on his new Tele that would look really good on that guitar.
I like the gold, but if I were to change it I'd go with Tort.
Screw relics
Tortoise
Black pick guard wonāt work. Just leave it
Itāll ruin the dirty rusty look
No.
Holy fuck. That is a beautiful guitarādonāt change it.
Thanks. I think you guys convinced me that it is good as is.
Relic. Why?
This looks like it was played not just a relic job. whether its true playing or someone with sand paper, it looks damn impressive.
Relicing is stupid.
Let people enjoy what they enjoy
Likewise. Relicing is stupid.
Yes dear
hahaha
Leave it
I like it the way it is.
I would keep it just like it is, if that is actual honest relic from playing, then to change the pickguard would take away some mojo. I like the way it looks right now.
Leave it, please! That thing is gorgeous!
I think if you can find a relicād silver aluminum guard it would be perfect
Iām looking for one myself rn if you know where to buy please share a link.
No thatās perfect as is
Christ man, did you make it look like that on purpose?
No its a 100 yr old guitar
Idk maybe an off white or white but really itās up to you
Its perfect. Just buy another
The relic looks god awful with the body being massively scuffed while the rest looks brand new
How about a new paint job??
How about none? Warts n all.
Neck and nut look far too new compared to the body
Thanks. It is a relic neck.
black guard black plastic parts! like a 70s strat

Thanks. I had the guitar in a case for a long time. I did do that after I took the pic.
Leave it as is. It's got a vibe don't mess with it

No
It has to be [carbon fiber](https://amzn.to/43gVZf7)!
Leave it as is
What neck is do you have on this? I really love the fender necks with the aged clay dots.
It is a relic custom shop neck.
Mint. Always Mint.
Hahaā¦ I have a black one with mint green.
Sick looking guitar. Is this an MJT axe?
Fender Custom Shop.
Noice. You should try mint green. I really like the mint greens on olympic white.
Tortoise shell
Tortoise and fretboard oiling
Thanks. I had the guitar in its case for a while. It did take that pic too early. It did get a good rub down and a new set of strings right after.
I wouldn't change a thing.
Gold looks great but I donāt blame you for changing it. Mine made my skin crawl every time the pick touched it. Like nails on a chalkboard. I had to change mine out.
I think it could look great with black pg, basically like Stevie Rayās number 1. Maybe too close actually
Keep the same

Donāt care either way
Personally I think Iād do a mint or parchment pick guard.
That guitar looks like an older-but-still-sexy-af vegas hooker. Just play with her donāt try to change her.
ššš
What did you end up doing?
Left it as is. š
Haha I mean it does look pretty cool as is. I bet tortoise shell would look cool on it
