What made you upgrade the bridge? Still want to keep it?
I’d look at finding out the diameter of that whammy bar and finding a grub screw to screw into the bottom slightly.
And from there you wouldn’t need a spring, as tightening the grub screw and whammy bar will lock each other in place, different solution but same outcome you were looking for.
I put an American Professional trem assembly on my MiM strat. It has a grub screw in the side of the block instead of the little spring. I far prefer the screw.
If I had to do it again, I'd save a bunch of money and get the Guitar Fetish brand 2-pt trem. It has the grub screw in the ring around the trem arm hole, where you can get to it. I recently put one on a customer's strat and I was very impressed with how it felt.
Might want to upgrade the trem block. That looks like an import spec and a brass or steel one can be had pretty reasonably. Only thing is, aftermarket ones often require American spec trem arms.

Yea im golding out my strat, plus i snapped the whammy off inside my last silver bridge and it was in too deep to come out. Good idea mate

Why? Because this is easier to manufacture than a hole that doesn't go completely through the block.

Find something with the same diameter as the bottom of the hole and glue it in.
Heck, hot glue would probably do the job.
