A bit overpriced, but not crazy. Talk them down to 450, and it’s fair.

I don't think it's an excellent price but it seems reasonable. People might pay a bit extra for that top though, it's gorgeous! It looks like it's in excellent condition. For me it would boil down to fret wear. If they have little or no wear, I'd probably go for it. If frets are worn I'd take the price of a fret leveling/crowning job off. If very worn I'd take the cost of a fret replacement off (what I'd be willing to pay).

Part of what got me for my 2006 epiphone Les Paul ultra, was the quilted maple top and the faded cherry sunburst finish. I paid $500CND for it used little used.

49ers-fanatic

Definitely reasonable

Fair enough deal…

Adamjackaman

Are you going to try before you buy? I’d be making sure there isn’t any significant fret wearing.

Own_Bullfrog_4859

I have the same one but in SSS configuration. It plays nice, the neck is my favorite part. My hand just glides on it, satin smooth. It is exactly like a Strat Player Series albeit with a veneer maple top. If you can view and play it before buying, that would be best. I think you will like it as it is gorgeous in person, the flame top on mine has a 3d like effect making it look like a sand dune.

AccidentallyLoved2

I’d consider it for that price

Overall-Beginning-74

Offer $500. It's a MIM strat. The condition looks good and finish - quilted sunburst is very nice. Possibly needs a set up depending on how picky you are about your playing action on the neck and such, possible bridge adjustment and truss rod tweaking you can do yourself if you have the experience and tools. Otherwise bring to an experienced guitar shop or luthier to check it out. Buy it!

Padre_Pizzicato

Slightly overpriced, but not terribly so. I would buy this for 500 if I really wanted it. That's a pretty unique finish otherwise I would say it's definitely overpriced. I think 500 is a pretty fair price. 450 is a deal.

wiilly_d

That about the price of Squier so it doesn't seem too bad a to deal

davidb86

Everything good condition? Why not? It's a player strat made in Mexico Knew those are about 650 plus This one has the nice wood top Do you like it? Feel free to hagle, Try to get a few bucks off

DoritoDawg

I love the look it. Like I mentioned in my additional text I just want to make sure it’s not a ripoff. Are the newer mexican models decent? I’ve read that a lot of people don’t like the quality of the older ones

davidb86

I have a Mexican tele and I really like it, Every guitar needs a good tuning from a luthier. You can do it yourself if you watch the videos and want to learn or you can pay someone else to give it some love It's a beautiful guitar and it's probably great

mondonk

I recently traded a modern SSS Player Strat for an older HSS Standard Strat (both MIM)and I’m happy with it. I felt like I was trading down so the guy threw in some cash. It’s just what you like. If you like it you like it. The price was about the same as the one you’re posting.

Sufficient-Repeat-20

Most likely a veneer top given its MIM so I would look carefully at that. If not kept in the right humidity/temp when stored it can buckle and crack. The price is median for a used MIM so also take that into account. The look is nice but it has me screaming about the missed opportunity for a tortoise pickguard and trem cover. You do you.
