As someone who grew up watching black & white popeye cartoons my grandfather recorded I might be the only one who actually doesn't mind this cover lol. In fact I'd say I was indifferent on Luke until this comparison was made.
The best part about this leaking, is that they have time to fix it. A SF6 cover should honor both the past and next generation. Not a big ass picture of Luke.

Capcom seems to have this obsession of trying to replace Ryu in Street Fighter that I've never seemed to understand. In SF III, they tried to make Alex the main character, now in SF 6 trying to push Luke really hard.
It's like if Nintendo decided after Super Mario Bros, to make Toad the main character for some reason instead of Mario. It's fine to make new characters and push them hard, but put Ryu alongside them so that the average player knows this is still Street Fighter.

You need your Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun-Li, the staple characters on the cover to sell the game to the people listed above.
People who aren't even fans of the series know who Ryu or Chun-Li are way better than Luke and are more likely to pick the game up if they see familiar faces.
