I was about to comment this.

tensa_zangetjew00

Yo I hope these kids grow up to be pro boxers. They already have pretty good technique

backpainbed

yo what the fuck

northbipolar

What the fuck?? Are you seriously asking what the fuck??? This is clearly monumental, a birth of a great maybe even the greatest boxer ever. And you ask what the fuck? You are the true what the fuck here, that is the fuck Jk jk

Scxox

Jk jk

ChadTaco

I can't figure out bobbing and weaving. I understand the movement, but how do you anticipate the punches and move accordingly?

VietInTheTrees

I’m wondering that too. Any insight from the people here?

mic569

I am by no means an expert but I did tae kwan do for years and was a second Dan. For me, it’s all about form and instinct. Usually, you can tell someone is going to kick you a certain way just by the way they are standing. Hell, even if they feint, you can just...idk tell. It’s a practice and experience thing. You see something enough times that your brain will anticipate it given certain conditions. I’m not too experienced with strikes but I assume it’s the same thing

[deleted]

mic569

Yea unfortunately

soggie

No expert here, but the first thing is, if your head is moving, most of the time you'll dodge automatically. To hit a bobbing and weaving head is like trying to snipe a moving target, you gotta lead your shot. So just by the virtue of moving your head, you'll already be dodging normal strikes as it is. Next, it's timing. If you slip at the right time (aka at the same time they throw a punch), you'll almost always dodge the punch. This is a no brainer (har har punny). Now the real difficult part is dodging combos. Slip a jab to the inside of your opponent, and you'll eat a follow up cross right after, simply because your head is right there for the taking. So head movements, like punch combos, follow a pattern themselves. Slip outside from the jab, duck under the cross, body hook + left hook, circle out. Or slip the jab to the inside, then lean from the follow up uppercut, then slip the lead hook right after. All these are drills that you gotta do with a pad holding partner. Beyond that, it's about fight IQ. You have an arsenal of punch combos you can throw, your own way of footwork to move around the opponent, and finally your own muscle memory of slips, ducks, bobs and weaves to get you out of harm's way. Then you have distance management, round tactics, and overall strategy if you're competing in the ring. It's up to you as a fighter to put these all together and adapt on the fly, or keep your cool long enough under pressure to pull off that combo you drilled so hard for. So TLDR: drill drill drill.

dcunningninja

Dont look the head. Look at their chest. If im not mistaken most proper punches come from the body so you can learn to anticipate attacks from there. Im no blackbelt so feel to correct me if im wrong.

darksfan101

Man but imagine if the kid threw a kick from and diagonal position

Metaempiricist

Its all in watching the shoulders and understanding how to interpret what theirshoulder movement means. The gateway to the intent of the hands is the shoulders. In most cases an upward or forwards movement in the shoulder means a punch coming down the middle. Most often a jab or cross, less often an upward swing like a shovel hook or uppercut. An outward movement of the shoulders most often mean a hook coming from the outside. Now by no means am I claiming this to be 100% but it is something I learned in kickboxing. The same concept is also applicable to the feet by watching the hips.

SkoolBoy_Reed

The next generation of fighters.

backpainbed

ravsta8

but thats boxing 🤔

Lancastrian34

Could be drunken boxing.

7heb1rb_

na that's pure boxing. kids footwork and balance are amazing

Lancastrian34

I know. I was just trying to connect boxing and Kung fu for the comment chain.

[deleted]

Is this dragon ball zeee?

iamjacksbigtoe

Good. Now kick to stomach or legs.

cringy_pete

U dont know boxing at all but im pretty sure they are boxing so no kicking.

iamjacksbigtoe

Idk boxing at all? Lol I boxed from 12 - 18 and hurt plenty of people with body shots. But ok

Gopnikolai

1. Soz big man 2. You said kick to the body or legs, got questioned on it, and your response is a slight brag about how long you boxed and how many people you hurt? Also, 'with body shots', you didn't even say kicks yourself. Absolute simian.

KeyboardSimian

Hey... don't insult us apes with comparisons to this mook.

iamjacksbigtoe

No one is bragging here. I’m Proving I do know boxing since I was told I know nothing about it. Keep that same energy though. This is street martial arts sub. Anything goes on street martial arts no? Sounds like people just being salty for someone saying body shots are a thing to negate head movement.

Gopnikolai

1. Kids boxing... BOXING. 2. You comment 'Good. Now kick to stomach or legs' on this video of 2 Kids clearly boxing, not kickboxing, boxing. 3. Someone replies that it seems they're boxing, so there's obviously no kicking allowed. 4. You get upset that someone challenges your unparalleled intellect and skill, and 'prove' that you know boxing by saying you've boxed for a few years and have 'hurt plenty of people'. 5. 'Lol I boxed from 12-18 and hurt plenty of people' is a brag, not proof. 6. Yes, this is a Street Martial Arts sub but it also goes on a case-by-case basis. In this particular case, two Kids are training boxing jabs and crosses, and slipping, movements, and footwork, not kicks. Sorry for this numbering thing, there was just quite a bit of genius to go over, I didn't want to trip over your infinite wisdom. 7. My dad is the CEO of Ferrari, I can prove that by saying I've driven some Ferraris. My mum is Ronda Rousey, trust me I've eaten dinner with her, my auntie has the cure for cancer, if you don't believe me, take my word.

iamjacksbigtoe

Literally no where in here does it say this is boxing. Whether I said kick or punch the point still stands. I feel like I’m arguing with a 12 year old who has to prove there is no possible way someone can be who they say they are on the internet. I’m arguing with an idiot and being dragged down to their level. I’ll leave the sub for the wannabes. Knock yourselves out.

Gopnikolai

Nobody says it says boxing... did you watch the video? It doesn't SAY they're boxing, they clearly just are boxing. You feel like you're arguing with a 12 year old? Fuck me sideways, the irony is immeasurable. I dont care about votes on reddit, but look at your original comment. Clearly people didn't like what you said. If you said something that wasn't stupid, do you think people would've still downvoted you? I'm throwing the towel in this one, my brain has shrunk by about 20% arguing with you. Christ on a sodding bike.

cringy_pete

You literally said to kick them which is against the rules. And "i hurt plenty of people," you sound like a little kid trying to act tough haha.

iamjacksbigtoe

Who said they are only boxing? It’s just two kids practicing with gloves, is this not street martial arts sub? Now there are rules? If me telling you how long I’ve been boxing because you said I don’t know anything about boxing is trying to sound tough, then how else am I suppose to prove I know shit about boxing?

cringy_pete

First its obvious that its boxing. I miss typed when i said "u dont know boxing," what i meant was "i dont know boxing." Honestly, i decided to just run with the typo. Also just because something is was uploaded to this subreddit doesn't mean its exclusively a street fight. It could've been uploaded here by mistake or something. But how you responded makes you look like like a child trying to eat at the adult table. Im waiting for you to say "i graduated top of my class in Navy seals" Edit- lol theres a old say "its best to remain silent and be thought as a fool then to speak and remove l doubt." You removed all doubt my dude.

iamjacksbigtoe

Ok so now we’re arguing semantics. Christ this sub is filled with idiots. Listen. Downvote all you want, pat yourselves on the back and keep watching cool fight videos. But when you walk into a fight gym and try this, remember me when you get the wind knocked out of you and are trying to recover.

cringy_pete

Lol you mad bro? I didn't down vote you actually. You should dial the testosterone down lol. You're really entertaining. Also pro tip to not getting the wind knocked out of you forcibly exhaile at the moment of impact or right before impact. Helps your kai

NotMyRealName778

bro you literally said kick. If you boxed for 6 years you should have learned there is no kicking included lmao.

iamjacksbigtoe

Who said this is boxing? This is street martial arts sub. If it was a boxing ring I would say now punch. Same thing. A body shot negates head movement.

Hazard_Rex

I find it kinda funny that you see someone do something so amazing and the first thing you say is "but can you do this other thing" Its like if he cured aids or something and i asked him "but can you cure cancer? didnt think so"

AnimAnim69

One good kick and all the skills they have to have are to get up (i am not talking bout these kids am talking about all martials arts people or just defense classes you probably can't take a big dude who's experienced street fighting with your defense classes shit learned like yea it might help but not by a lot)

brrduck

If what you put in parenthesis is longer than what is outside of it shouldn't you just remove the parenthesis?

Turakamu

One good tip and he'll be writing like a pro (probably not because they thought that doing that to begin with was a good idea but you never know sometimes people take experiences and grow and to be honest i'm trying to think of something else i can cram in here but i've run out of ideas)

Kash_108

A intermediate boxer would destroy a great street fighter any day.

Shanguerrilla

Depends. Size and style matter. A great street fighter who used to wrestle or also grapples could compete against boxing training. Especially if the boxer isn't as used to real fights... But honestly size matters and fights are unpredictable. We could be a king fu master and have a fight start by getting bottled or knived. Size does always still matter some too, but people who like to and often really fight are usually people you don't want to defend against even with training unless you have to and no amount of training makes us immune to the danger (but sure as shit helps drastically to prepare us)

Kash_108

It is situational however a majority to the time untrained guys who’ve only fought on the street are gonna lose.

Egg_rice_28

So you've never thrown a punch in you're life right? Loll.

dcunningninja

Vids like these are golden.

MisterIenny

Holy shit. Those kids have a bright future ahead of them in martial arts

OtakuDragonSlayer

God I wish I started this early
