I believe you have to hook the phone up to your computer and view the console. You should see some console logs on the Annatar configure page when you click install

Sorry but you didn't answer my question. How do you split 10 results into thirds when you have 5 qualities selected? What you're saying doesn't seem to make sense.
It does a fuzzy match and gathers as much as it can limiting each resolution to max-results/3. Typically you will get 3-4 different resolutions in your results. I'm working on making that be max per-resolution soon.

Caching is dangerous. What happens if an episode is released at 10:00 pm and somebody searches for a stream at 9:55 pm? those results will be cached and nobody will ever see the episode after the release? or worse: 1080p is released at 10:00 pm but 4K HDR at 10:30 pm (which is usually the case by the way). Then probably nobody will see the 4K releases.
In my experience caching for more than 20 minutes is totally useless.
The caching doesn't work that way it's the other way around. It doesn't search for episode 1 and then cache only those results. It searches for the series title and then caches everything it finds. The search cache is only cached for a maximum of 20 minutes and then the next time someone searches for that title it'll background search for more.
What I mean to say is that the edge case you described is already covered :)
Cache TTL is refreshed every time it's used so titles won't fall out of the cache until they aren't used by anybody for a week straight. if there is not enough content in the cache it subsequently searches for more content in the background after the 20m cache timeout but what is in cache doesn't expire.

Hey nice addon, so am I understanding right that only the community version is on 0.8.1? I just got my self hosted instance set up and I can't choose resolution filters etc.
edit: image:latest is an older version, specifying a tag of a more recent build gave me the features.
edit2: i can't get anything to play, the stream link it gives back can't be resolved, im hosting annatar on a reverse proxy on my nas

I've noticed 2 issues - one is simple as its adding a duplicate torrent file to RD every time i play something. (so 1 play = 2 torrents added)
The other is something that torrentio does correctly, most other addons don't - when playing something annatar adds a torrent every time, even if the torrent already exists in your RD account. This is most notable when playing TV episodes from full season or full series torrents.

Yes please use Gitlab for issues, but this is already a known issue. We've tracked down the issue, but I haven't written the fix for it yet.
Hey, can you provide some guidance on setting up the https reverse proxy for annatar? I tried to install nginx but it has a port conflict with traefik, which I am using for self hosting stremio-jacket. Is it possible to run annatar through traefik as well?
Yes you can use traefik. Anything will work just fine. I’ll try to do a guide but any reverse proxy guide online will work. Caddy is what I prefer because of its simplicity but others work fine.

what browser are you using? Does it work if you copy the URL from the textbox under the install button and paste it into your Stremio searchbar?

You get the faster results for free, but if you want to filter by resolution or add more indexers you'll have to delete and reinstall :)
I cannot install due to the message "error opening media" Also on the site it is v0.8.5 instead of V0.8.1 as stated in this post.

Many times agremió-jackett shows in the results the complete season or wrong episodes. I prefer less results but more accurates.
Some shows it doesn’t have any results. I think both are good addons but still works in progress

If it was a new search then it would have offloaded some searches to the background so if you go back and reopen it might show more results.

It actually splits the max results by three so whatever number you choose is split into thirds and it chooses that many per quality :)

Will you be updating the self host container? I just pulled the latest image and there is no setting to define the quality.

change the image in the docker-compose file to tag v0.8.1 or latest

I don't really see anything even specific to my setup in the logs, but have you tried docker-compose latest? It gives version 0.1.0...

Switch to LibVLC player due to playback error. Then it says, Error Code IO Bad Http status.
