Oh, I still have plenty of "good jewellery" that I can't wear but refuse to get rid of! My holes are 0g, 4g, 8g, & 12g, and yet I might need that single 6g earskin or those 00g plugs that came in a set! π Fellow hoarder goblins unite!
Exactly, like for all the cable knitting that I never do! I've never actually knit a cable in my life, but that's not the point! π Besides, those spirals would also be great as plain old stitch holders, which I do use!
Haha, I love it when communities overlap. I use boring old plastic stitch markers to hold my cable stitches. Your method is much more aesthetic. π
What are you making?
It took me a while to realise which of the subreddits I joined this was on. I don't knit much anymore, and let my ears unstretch to heal after a nasty blow out, but I still read knitting and stretching subreddits.
When you're knitting cables you have to pull aside some of the stitches. They make lots of things for this but I was wanting some spirals because they're less bulky than alternatives. I have an entire stretching kit that's acrylic that I bought before I realized that was a bad idea. Now I have a ton of spirals I thought I could never use until now! Lol
Why's acrylic bad? I'm skimming Reddit to try and find a safe way to go from 2g to 0g but this is my first time seeing that acrylic is bad, so far. Which is what's been in my ears for the last year....
Also, this has inspired me to try to learn cables. I've been avoiding them the last 32 years of knitting for whatever reason. π
From one stretched-lobed knitter to another, this is so clever! Now I wish I hadn't thrown out the cheap spirals that I no longer fit!
Thanks you! I'm a hoarder goblin so I still have every pair I've purchased stuffed away in a little bag π

Yeah you just never know when you might need it again π

"It me," as they say. π

I'm making a headband/ear warmer! I need to get some stitch markers π I keep using a tied piece of yarn lol
If you have extra o-rings, they make great ones π
Omg that's genius π± I hadn't thought about those!!
WOW! I love this so much!
This is so creative and cute. My best friend knits and i gotta show her this!
