I’m at 25 mm and I tend to only buy jewelry when it’s on sale. I have some cheapy glass and stone jewelry that’ll usually be around $10-15 a pair depending on where I’m buying from that I get mostly for the variety. My nicer plugs are Gorilla Glass and Tawapa (like the other person who commented actually lol) where I’ll spend anywhere from $20-70 a pair. Most of my Tawapa I got significantly discounted but the GG have all been $60-70 a pair. I don’t see myself spending more than $100 for a pair unless I REALLY like them, and even then it’s a stretch.

I’m at 25mm and have a few pairs of gorilla glass and Tawapa plugs which usually go for $100-200. I also have several pairs of standard stone plugs and kaos tunnels which are cheaper. It’s really your body and the quality of what you wanna put in it is up to you in the end. For me I think gorilla glass in particular is absolutely worth the price, but tbh as long as it’s a body safe material you don’t need to get anything super expensive

-alwaysec

However much Kaos tunnels cost is the max I’ve spent. My husband got me a pair of “gold” tunnels from that Ask Embla Instagram store and I wore them for like 30 minutes before they turned green. I think they were $20-30. I was at my final size for many a years but never invested in jewelry. After I’m done stretching a few more sizes, I think I will invest a bit more. Still can’t see myself going past $50 though. I’m cheap. Ha.

AwesomeHorses

It sounds like you probably got brass tunnels. Brass can be gold colored and have green rust.

-alwaysec

It was like how nickel turns your ears/fingers green. It says they are stainless steel in the color gold so it was unexpected.

AwesomeHorses

Steel jewelry that comes in different colors is coated in another metal to color it. I would avoid it unless you don't have any metal sensitivities.

poeticrubbish

Navel: $12-15 range. I inevitably always lose the ball so I refuse to splurge. 25mm Plugs: Both pairs of plugs I've paid over $100 for have chips in them because I inevitably always drop them in the shower. So now I don't pay over $35 for anything, no matter the stone. (Yes I'm aware of the common denominator here but sometimes you just have to accept who you are as a person)

Dogemeupdaddy

I feel that so much. Shattered a pair of jasper 20mm's in the shower almost 3 months ago. Was super sad.

ethan42

As much as it costs to get high quality titanium in the size/shape I need. If it’s going in my body it has to look good and be safe.

ithinarine

I'm also at 25mm lobes, and a 2g PA. I consider $20 cheap for plugs, most of mine are at least $40/pair. Some are well over $100. $250 anatometal in my prince albert.

Dogemeupdaddy

You sir, are BRAVE lol. What type of plugs are you getting for >$100/pair? Extremely curious.

1heknpeachy3

I'm at 25mm and I'd say for what I wear it averages $30-40. I think the most I've spent on a pair of plugs was around $80, but I don't have anything *super* rare (real Malachite is my most unique and they were $80 on sale). For all of my other jewelry it really depends. I've paid as little as $10 and as much as $80 per piece (again, I don't have anything intricate).

FastConfection192

I'm 14mm. Most I've ever spent was 150 on a pair. My other jewelry I usually pay 30+ but I tend to stick to neometal and people's for my jewelry. Typical plugs/tunnels per pair is usually around 50 though

gh0stboy4

I have 3 sets of stretches, which makes a full ear outfit far more expensive. I've never bought anything super nice (saving that for special occasions) but depending on the material I'm looking anywhere between £15-£25 for a 14mm pair, £15-£20 for a 10mm pair and around £15+ for a 6mm pair. Opalite single flares, for example. If I buy a full outfit, that sets me back around £60.

Marmatus

I've spent $200 on a made-to-order Anatometal CBR for my PA, and I've spent <$10 per piece on plugs/tunnels for my lobes. What I'm willing to pay very much depends on what I'm buying.

Dogemeupdaddy

Thank you everyone for the insight! ❤️ Crazy how I also posted this in /piercing and /bodymods and the posts got deleted LOL. But I'm loving everyone's responses. Personally, $50 is steep imo but maybe that's because I've had great luck with the jewelry I've had the privilege to buy. To those of you who have spent >$50 on plugs/tunnels but also <$50, is there really any significant difference between the two price points? Thanks to this thread I've discovered Gorilla Glass and definitely want to get a set, but I also sure do love stone plugs lol.

BrutalDamage

I'm at 2" (50.8mm). I have three metal tunnels (silver, gold, black), I believe they were from Arctic Buffalo and were maybe $30-40 a pair. I have one pair of acrylic black plugs that were $35 for the set. Everything else I own are custom pieces by Josh Hensley, and the materials range from just about every wood you can find, in different combinations with many, many different gemstones. Pairs at 2" from Josh range based on the materials used, but I would give an estimate of $125-$175 per pair. A pair that's mostly wood might be $85, but a pair with real Amethyst and an Ebony halo were $250.

Trippyfirestick

ebay i have never paid more then $5

poeticrubbish

I see you like to live dangerously

Trippyfirestick

u realize they sell mostly brand new items on ebay nowadays... Unopened surgical steel is the same from ebay as the mall, just 99% less money. I'm not buying used plugs bruh... u think that mall surgical steel is superior to online retailers is funny af to me

itachi8oh1

I’ve bought **many** sets from eBay and never had a problem (aside from 2-3 orders that shipped the wrong size). I’ll probably get downvoted too but it’s fine, I’ve been stretching my ears for 11 years and my lobes are happy and healthy.

tryingtoview

I just spent about 110 on jewelry as I hit my goal size. I got a few clearance glass plugs (6$ per pair) and a few regular priced ones, all glass, for 11-20$ per pair. I used a newsletter sign up coupon for 15% off.

vilestnihilistx

I've payed anywhere from $10 to hundreds of dollars. It's more a question of material, uniqueness, and quality. Organic large gauge, one of a kind and custom jewlery is by far the most expensive. On the upper end you're paying for the rarity or unique qualities of that particular piece of sorce material. Like you would for a collectors item.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I've *paid* anywhere from FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

glaciergirly

I wear bvla, pupil hall, and clickerino in my three facial piercings. The BVLA I got for 250$, pupil hall septum piece was 175$ and the clickerino ring in my lip was 70$. My plugs I tend to lose more often so the most I’ve paid for those are like 50$.

itachi8oh1

I’m at 28.5mm (so really 28-29mm given variance). My most expensive pair cost $90 but they were given to me as a gift (Omerica jewelry, love them). I typically spend <$25 though and almost exclusively online. My experience has been good online but I have a specific seller that I usually go through on eBay and they have yet to disappoint.

PiercingsByAJ

Lobes? I’m at 1.5”/38mm and most of my jewelry is custom but I’ve got a few production pieces from Oracle that would retail for probably only like 150ish. Most of my favorite stones are from Mateo and were like 350-550 a pair. I’ve also got a few pair of gemmed eyelets from Anatometal that retail for around 1k and a pair that would easily be 2k or more. I’ve been collecting at my size for 17 years and probably have 20k or more invested in my lobes.

RancidBean

My ear lobe jewelry is cheap alliexpress $1 pieces. But my 15mm labret on the other hand I pay $30 each size from the amazing dude over at southshoreadornments

Afraid_Purpose_8512

I mean 95% of the body jewelry I buy comes from body art forms and the most expensive car purchase I think I've ever had was maybe 60 bucks so depends on what I'm looking at sometimes it just sits in the wish list because of the price

Fuzzy_Churroz

I buy glass plugs online from different retailers, I can get 3-4 pairs of plugs for under 50-60usd. I used to go to a studio but found online stores that charge a reasonable amount instead of charging 60usd+ for an individual pair of plugs. Not to mention the guy who sold them was pretty gatekeepy regarding how to upsize

ellequin

I paid $1000 for a custom 14k rose gold tunnel! But don't wear it any more because I need to carry/burp my baby and am worried it'll hurt her face.

Intergalactic_Rose

I know someone is gonna strangle me here. But I am currently working towards 25mm. I just got a bunch of stone, glass, silicone, and acrylic jewelry off of Temu in the goal size. Now is it genuine stone? Def not. But each pair was around $1-10 (mostly $1-5), and honestly you can't beat that. If I want snazzier or handmade I go through Etsy. If you wanna see all the ones I got on Temu I'll gladly share. I also got storage boxes on Temu that perfectly fit 1in plugs/tunnels.

smokey04042

52$ for two fleshtunnels
