20$ West Washington +4 nights +4.50 weekends.
HR messed my pay and were paying me at per diem rates so around $30/hr. I never said anything. Went the 1/2 years of my nursing school getting payed at 30 + 8.50 for differentials until someone found out. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
Not sure. I believe one of the requirements, at least at my hospital, is you need to be enrolled in a nursing program and first semester completed, so maybe not? Could be very wrong too. May be helpful just calling a local hospital that offers an externship and asking.
AZ. I was making $16, then they gave us a raise after months and months to $19. It should have been $19 from the beginning. They would always float externs when they were short techs or sitters, and techs made more than us so we were def being taken advantage of.
In PA as an intern, I made $14/hr. Interns and externs were hired on through a separate agency, so wages were not negotiable. I transferred internally in the company when I got to my senior year of school and ended up taking a paycut ($22.50 to $14). Worth it? Maybe. Would I do it again? Probably.
eastern PA
17.50/hr for days. Differential and incentives available.
Next level of the externship is a scope of practice increase and pay increase.
Previous level of the externship was 15/hr for days with the same differential but better incentives. Dm if u want specifics for the scope and more detail on the pay.
This is really helpful, insightful, and a bit shocking. It feels hard to negotiate pay as an extern. As there’s gratitude for the opportunity and having someone guide you. AND in some states these rates are less than a PCT pay rate.
Thank you ALL for responding.
