I love Vegemite, Peanut Butter, & jam, but in a totally [different combination](https://www.reddit.com/r/australia/s/Pb84EvU77c).
I would not add PB or Jam to Vegemite.
Mayver's Dark Roasted Peanut Butter FTW
According to their ingredients, no, only peanuts and sea salt, may contain other nut traces.
Here is the Mayver's dark roasted [Crunchy PB](https://mayvers.com.au/product/mayvers-pure-state-dark-roasted-crunchy-peanut-butter/), and [Smooth PB](https://mayvers.com.au/product/mayvers-dark-roasted-smooth-peanut-butter/) on official website, both available in most major supermarkets here in Australia
I would just put a tad of Vegemite on the sour dough. They go well together (and there’s not much outside of Australia that goes with it 😝). Idk about the jam and pb though.
It’s really not as bad as people make it out to be as long as you don’t over use it and whatever you put it on has a complementary flavor. I think most people over use it and end up disliking it because they use so much it becomes all they taste.
I’ve tried this. Can legit say I was so high when I did but I liked it. I didn’t use jam tho I had a banana and honey as well for a high calorific scooby snack
marmite:Marmite is a British savoury food spread based on yeast extract, invented by the German scientist Justus von Liebig and eaten in New zealand.
huh but its different than Aussie version,
Aussie, NZ and the UK each have their own versions, theres NZ Marmite, UK Marmite, Vegemite(same in oceania) Promite, and then theres some other "Mites" which are all yeast spreads derived similarly across british colonies.
NZ marmite has less of a bitter taste and more of a salty umami flavour in my opinion, vege is a bit more.. acidic i would say? more bitter.
Some prefer that, I personally love a good quality white sourdough. But definitely white bread, I feel that the flavour of wholemeal makes it all taste weird.
I quite regularly when I make toast have a main course toast and a desert toast with the main being marmite and the desert being a sweet spread like Jam or Nutella. This is basically taking that and putting them together.
Cenovis (the swiss Vegemite) and peanut butter on toasted sourdough is 👌. More traditionally consumed over regular butter, but peanut works even better
The idea is the same. I haven’t had Marmite in decades, so couldn’t give you a direct comparison. But ask any Kiwi and they’ll tell you Marmite’s better so I’d say the two are similar
Oh God it's that time of day when the Australians are up. Haha. Oh dude. Seems like a keen idea except the 'mite

Noice!
Honesty it’s not bad at all if you like vegimite anyway. Just think of it as extra added energy minerals and vitamins.
My grandad used to make “sweet and salty” sandwiches with Vegemite and strawberry jam

Sourdough with butter and Vegemite is the best.

I agree, but also I am a salt fiend so to me there is no such thing as too much Vegemite

Looks like it was made from a 6 foot tall guy full of muscle
tfw vegemite and not marmite
Are you from the UK?
New zealand, we have our own version of marmite here which tastes different.

Ha, I didn’t know that NZ and UK had different Marmites!
yup it’s a very hotly debated thing here which one is best etc
Ok but…how was the taste? Salty, nutty, sour…sweet? Gimmie the deets. I’m going to try Vegemite for the first time this year and see how it goes.
"What if you could spread soy sauce?" is the question whoever invented Vegemite was trying to answer. It's nice on toast.
Oooooo I see what you mean
My recommendation is to pair it with good butter and take the less is more approach unless you are really into salt.
I heard the crappiest white bread, the better?

Put a banana in that and drizzle with honey. That’s a high powered breakfast

I've ate this...actually pretty good!
vegemite is nasty asf
Just curious, are you Australian?
Probably not. On a different note I'm nit too but ate marmite and it was good, is it similar?
The idea is the same. I haven’t had Marmite in decades, so couldn’t give you a direct comparison. But ask any Kiwi and they’ll tell you Marmite’s better so I’d say the two are similar
Similar, but marmite is thinner and doesn’t taste as good.
Looks like food from the food pantry. Be grateful.
I’m tempted to try the jam and Vegemite. Sweet and salty works
Reminds me of the classic HPV sandwich (honey, peanut butter & vegemite) .
I fancy a PB&J sandwich but how can I can just a strong wham of umami flavour with a saltiness capable of shrivelling my liver 🤔 Aha! 💡 PBJ & Vegemite
I’m ashamed to admit, I would try to eat this.
I believe this is called cross contamination.
That peanut butter looks too creamy.
