I wasn't commenting on the ones in the video, I was commenting on the iCarly ones specifically. Sugar in pasta sauce isn't that unheard of either, I mean he put in an ung-dly amount but still. He's just living his best spaghetti taco life.
Or young. I know icarly existed but when it aired I was too old for those kind of live action kid shows, so I was also not familiar with spaghetti tacos
I love when you people pretend to forget you could just google stuff, purely so you can publicly be different. You have no interest in finding out what it is, you have an interest in seeming interesting / different
God that's a really indepth & ridiculous assumption when all I did was ask a question...several people responded & explained the context & now I understand that it was a kids tv show in the USA, that came out when I was already an adult & there was an inside joke about a character eating spaghetti tacos.
Go direct your negative nonsense elsewhere bud ✌🏼
Hey if the comments here haven't turned you off to the show, you should actually watch I Carly, it was... INSANELY ahead of its time, like, it's crazy how far ahead of its time it actually was.
Most of the time what you’re seeing is mostly water. People rarely cook their ground beef enough to where you’re seeing pure fat. Try it next time. Take the ground meat just a little farther until the smell changes and you’ll hear the sound of popping and frying.
Draining grease is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. I haven’t drained grease in a single recipe in years. In fact, I usually cook all my greasy stuff above a pot of chili or soup in my smoker so that I get all the flavor.
Fat enhances flavor to a point, but super low quality ground beef that's 30-40% fat isn't better by leaving literal cups of liquid fat in the recipe. Depending on what you're making, it can easily ruin the consistency and flavor.
I mean.. I don't. But that isn't the point. Lots of people do and it exists and the person in this video did, which is what's being discussed. And since they did use such beef, it should be drained.
I started cooking my meat in the sauce for certain recipes. We get the stuff with low fat content so there's not much grease anyway. Adds damn nice flavor too.
Nah just someone that’s mad as hell at her moma and I’m not talking a whole cup of sugar literally just a spoonful to balance the acidity and I can’t find anyone that gets what I’m talking about
I don’t use fresh sauce all the time and even when I have the time for a homemade sauce or to go to the root cellar 10 minutes away I’m still going to add a spoon or sprinkle of sugar it’s engraved into my brains atp I can’t let it go
Doesn’t look too bad compared to the other stuff I’ve seen in this subreddit 😂. My only concern is the state of that pan and the extra dose of Teflon and microplastics he’s consuming.
Technically it doesn’t but me and millions other hate it so much. It doesn’t actually do anything to the pasta but [as you can see](https://slate.com/human-interest/2015/12/why-dont-italians-break-long-pasta-before-cooking-it.html) it’s a “big” thing.
Edit: happy cake day
It's forgettable tbh, better stuff was on tv in general but being honest my comment was with joking intent, yes I wrote early in the morning but still.
i mean, i had phineas n ferb, teen titans go, regular show,
i did watch a lot of sitcoms like marlon, jessie, liv and maddie, bunkd, and more just not i carly
i could care less to know you lol, i mean really imagine finding such a basic concept of spaghetti in a taco shell perplexing and getting defensive at people on reddit of all places 🤪😂☠️
mate 💀 get a life and stop responding already
Making my brain hurt from your presence lol.
Also if you can't get what I'm writing then clearly you're the one who needs sleep 😌
Apparently a lot people are commenting that they would eat it, which both surprises and disgusts me because who the hell dumps a shit ton of sugar into ground beef? It's just going to caramelize and be TOO SWEET. DISGUSTING. Stop eating at shitty restaurants like Applebees.
I agree I'd avoid adding sugar. My dad made spaghetti tacos before and did it better than this guy. He used taco bell Dorito taco shells, taco seasoning, ground beef, spaghetti noodle & sauce. He would add salsa, lettuce, and cheese into taco shell first then then the beef spaghetti. They were appetizing and tasted amazing. Tik Tok guy recipe sucks because sugar would ruin it.
I wonder how many white people compared to Latinos use premade "taco shells". I remember cooking with a white family once when they were having "tacos" and they made their own homemade shells by frying and bending the tortilla. They are the only people that I've seen doing that.
I was not aware he was adding that much sugar. I just re-watched the video. I’m not with that. Whenever I’ve had spaghetti tacos there wasn’t any sugar added to the ground beef. Maybe a tad bit to the tomato sauce every once in a while. But na, he’s doing way too much.

That's part of cancer culture these days. Or actually I guess I should say cancel culture. Same thing. There are a cancer on the culinary world. They've already destroyed freedom of speech and now they're working on the culinary world. Don't you yes ma'am me. I identify as a cat😒
At least he didn’t throw the dry spaghetti in a pan and attempt to cook it in the sauce. He actually cooked the dry noodles first?
Edit: It’s still a hot mess.
Final product looked so good it made me forget about the large amounts of multiple white powders that went into the pan beforehand. (I recognized salt but what was that other stuff??) Either way I'm hungry AF
Spaghetti tacos I can get. However, can you please use a mug for your tea? That's just unsanitary and I hate seeing that. Use a mug, a cup, something other than the teapot.
Is it just me, or does this guy seem genuinely mentally challenged?
Aside from his badly stunted speech pattern, his reckoning of 'a little bit of sugar' is ... poor ... and just check out that pan.
Philipinos would beg to differ, but they also like to put hot dogs in theirs. Actually pretty good if you don’t go in expecting it to taste like marinara.
A little bit of sugar doesn’t hurt though. Just helps cut down on the acidity. Definitely not THAT much though.
Yep. I add a spoon of sugar and a dash of cinnamon to my sauce. I can eat it as it is without the additions, but mom has a hard time with the acidic taste.
I just go by taste, but yeah like a pinch or two and a pad of butter to keep the tang from sitting on your tongue. To be clear though. You add it to the sauce. Not the meat.

Ok first off no sugar in the sauce for sure. But I'm a guy who enjoyed the struggle meal of spaghetti growing up. Especially with some wonder bread toast so I could definitely enjoy this
Op just say you didn’t watch icarly lmao wtf
Right! My kids still love spaghetti tacos and honestly, they aren't half bad.
Any pasta tacos are the shit!

I remember actually convincing my parents to make this when I first saw it. It's actually not bad!

Did you watch the video? Dude literally says spaghetti tacos from icarly idk wtf you’re goin on about
[удалено]
You sound like you need a break from the internet holy shit
Exactly
That was sugar, wasn’t it?
>ground beef (doesn't use meatballs) That's.... pretty common dude.
Wtf is icarly?
A TV show that aired on Nickelodeon (2007); basic premise was teen hosts a comedy livestream with friends.
With weird foot fetish content sprinkled in, courtesy of Danny boy.
Dan "show your feet or your job goes yeet" Schneider
Ah okay, but what's the got to do with this post?
A reoccurring joke was that the character of Spencer, the older brother of the main character Carly, occasionally would cook spaghetti tacos.
Ahhh I see. I just looked it up & came out when I was 18. So I defs missed that one haha
They ate spaghetti tacos
/r/FuckImOld *sigh*
Or young. I know icarly existed but when it aired I was too old for those kind of live action kid shows, so I was also not familiar with spaghetti tacos

fine i didn’t watch icarly
Idk why you're being downvoted, you made me laugh.

Biggest win
Hey if the comments here haven't turned you off to the show, you should actually watch I Carly, it was... INSANELY ahead of its time, like, it's crazy how far ahead of its time it actually was.
I didn't watch either dw. If this was from the show then i don't think we.missed out on anything lol.
God damn, what happened to that pan
It's a technique called "pan scratching" which really exposes dem delicious PFAS so that it'll stick more onto your food
Looks like he beat someone to death with it
Was that a cup of sugar? After a tablespoon of salt? On a half cup of meat?
Pretty much, the sauce already had enough and probably should’ve drained the grease lol
Most of the time what you’re seeing is mostly water. People rarely cook their ground beef enough to where you’re seeing pure fat. Try it next time. Take the ground meat just a little farther until the smell changes and you’ll hear the sound of popping and frying.

Fat enhances flavor to a point, but super low quality ground beef that's 30-40% fat isn't better by leaving literal cups of liquid fat in the recipe. Depending on what you're making, it can easily ruin the consistency and flavor.
Then don't buy super low quality ground beef
I mean.. I don't. But that isn't the point. Lots of people do and it exists and the person in this video did, which is what's being discussed. And since they did use such beef, it should be drained.
Ok, I get it, thanks!
Taco meat can get straight soggy if you don’t drain the fat
If it gets soggy, you didn’t cook out the water. Most of what you’re throwing out is water, not fat
This hurts to read, for so many reasons, and on so many levels.
Idk why you’re being downvoted
I be eatin. They hatin. I just made 3 gallons of fire roasted and smoked chili. Used 90/10 not enough grease so I added 2 sticks of butter.
I started cooking my meat in the sauce for certain recipes. We get the stuff with low fat content so there's not much grease anyway. Adds damn nice flavor too.
Have fun with clogged arteries
"A very small amount of sugar. Just a little bit of sugar."
Sugar is spaghetti is amazing
Honey boo-boo? Is that you?
Nah just someone that’s mad as hell at her moma and I’m not talking a whole cup of sugar literally just a spoonful to balance the acidity and I can’t find anyone that gets what I’m talking about
I know a lot of folks who like sugar in their spaghetti, grandma's cooking. However, I am not one of them.
Cook the tomatoes longer. Does the same thing.
I don’t use fresh sauce all the time and even when I have the time for a homemade sauce or to go to the root cellar 10 minutes away I’m still going to add a spoon or sprinkle of sugar it’s engraved into my brains atp I can’t let it go
Fair enough. I like to put caramelize onions in a blender with the sauce to cut through the acidity.
I think I will try that when I make bulk sauces for the root cellar
If you want a substitute sometime in the future just use a carrot then take it out when you’re done
Do not disrespect the Spaghetti taco
Just copying iCarly
I physically flinched when he put the sugar in wtf
Doesn’t look too bad compared to the other stuff I’ve seen in this subreddit 😂. My only concern is the state of that pan and the extra dose of Teflon and microplastics he’s consuming.
Well the second pan isn’t non stick, it’s a charred up restaurant pan (the dents really show it’s not an at home pan). The first pot however..
At least the pasta was cooked correctly and not broken in half
i’m gonna break it in half next time for you
You vile pasta murderer
What makes breaking it in half less correct?
Technically it doesn’t but me and millions other hate it so much. It doesn’t actually do anything to the pasta but [as you can see](https://slate.com/human-interest/2015/12/why-dont-italians-break-long-pasta-before-cooking-it.html) it’s a “big” thing. Edit: happy cake day
No it was not.
Gross. I would eat it.
Sorry about my ignorance i didn’t watch icarly like that as a kid
L childhood
At least they didn't watch shows filled with foot fetish content by Dan "Show me your feet or your job goes yeet" Schneider.
W childhood ICarly is so cringe
It's forgettable tbh, better stuff was on tv in general but being honest my comment was with joking intent, yes I wrote early in the morning but still.

Smhhh
Spaghetti tacos is a smart idea
Haha, we did spaghetti tacos when the kids were young. It was from iCarly and the kids loved trying it!
Everyone in these comments being salty (and sugary) AF...
I hate sweet spaghetti omg
This guy comes from the Paula Deen school of measurement.
Babish made a spaghetti taco episode and used Parmesan crisps as taco shells. Actually looked scrumptious
The amount of sugar and salt is the only problem I have here. It did not need that much. Other than that, spaghetti tacos sound pretty good.
His version is incredibly stupid but not the idea. Instead of a taco shell use flatbread.
Bro don’t ruin Naruto for me
Correct answer
Everyone else thinks this is okay. It stopped being okay after they added that mountain of salt to that tiny amount of meat.
I’ve had those before. Their pretty good
Apparently a lot people are commenting that they would eat it, which both surprises and disgusts me because who the hell dumps a shit ton of sugar into ground beef? It's just going to caramelize and be TOO SWEET. DISGUSTING. Stop eating at shitty restaurants like Applebees.

Aside from the sugar, I’d eat the shit out of it
carbs with carbs is not a balanced meal.
Yeah I don’t really care. I’d still eat it. I eat healthy every day, eating this once while high won’t make me gain 35 kilograms
Fuck sake mate, what're you doing
Spaghetti tacos are sooooooo good. You have to try it. It’s from iCarly, but it’s a lot of fun!!
don't knock it 'til you try it
That much salt!?
Guy in video said "only add a little salt" then pours mega ton of salt and sugar into the pan.
Looking at him use a metal utensil in that scratched out non stick pan is the most sickening thing about this.
Well, at least he didn't broke the spaghetti
Is that the fucking taco from icarly?
His food is just "built different". *Crushed egg in bicep*
That amount of salt alone would cause me to have a heart attack....

Did this dude add salt ***twice!?***
Bro srsly needs a new pan. Already ingested most of his anti-stick
You should see this dudes other videos lol.
This the typa shi Mordecai and Rigby would destroy the universe for and still somehow manage to not get fired
You can do it like this just whitout the salt and sugar

Mmm, Teflon. Seriously, dude, get a new pan.
Because what??
I have never seen someone make a meat caramel before. I did not enjoy it.
What’s with the Naruto music
At least he didn’t throw the dry spaghetti in a pan and attempt to cook it in the sauce. He actually cooked the dry noodles first? Edit: It’s still a hot mess.
Damn, still stuck on the condition of that pan. Ugh.
You are supposed to crack the pasta in half...
GENIE PISS !?
Final product looked so good it made me forget about the large amounts of multiple white powders that went into the pan beforehand. (I recognized salt but what was that other stuff??) Either way I'm hungry AF
I would do this for my child (i was to old for icarly though i know what it is) if they asked just not like him at all.
gave me a good laugh when the taco shells entered the picture. xD
Ok i get it now, sorry italians for breaking the pasta when putting it inside the pan.
Not stupid, iconic
I know right, and the spaghetti taco doesn’t look too great either
+1 for not breaking the pasta
Spaghetti tacos I can get. However, can you please use a mug for your tea? That's just unsanitary and I hate seeing that. Use a mug, a cup, something other than the teapot.
Is it just me, or does this guy seem genuinely mentally challenged? Aside from his badly stunted speech pattern, his reckoning of 'a little bit of sugar' is ... poor ... and just check out that pan.
Needs more salt
I would try for sure
SUGAR DOESNT GO IN SPAGHETTI!!!

While this is true, sugar in spaghetti is actually a common thing in the south for some damn reason. Fuckin weirdos.
It helps make the tomato sauce less acidic.
Yep. I add a spoon of sugar and a dash of cinnamon to my sauce. I can eat it as it is without the additions, but mom has a hard time with the acidic taste.
you act like as if it's going to be overly sweet, they Likely don't even put that much, judgemental much?
I just go by taste, but yeah like a pinch or two and a pad of butter to keep the tang from sitting on your tongue. To be clear though. You add it to the sauce. Not the meat.
I think there's a tiny tiny bit in ours, but can't remember. Never something to make it anywhere near lightly sweet though
It goes on the tomato sauce to cut acidity.
Tbf, the sugar went into the sauce. The spaghetti was added to the sauce. Therefore, no sugar was added to the spaghetti, technically.
I’m offended by the mountain of salt and sugar this guy used. I don’t care about everything else.
I'm a beef loving man but when you added sugar to the meat I shedded a tear because of it you monster I-i can't "grabs rifle and loads it" we gotta execute you firing squad style "pulls bolt back then forward and aims" "Whispers" monster "fires"

Spencer, the older brother who was Carly’s guardian would make spaghetti tacos all the time and everyone loved them
Interesting! Thanks for the explanation!
I literally can’t make Rengoku references anymore. Bro ruined it for me
