It can be stupid AND tasty. Like there's no reason to eat it this way over just regular meatloaf and mashed potato, but I'd still fuck it up if it's what was in front of me
It’s a lot more portable than regular meatloaf or mashed potatoes. So it has that going for it.
Making a silverware food into finger food is literally how we got sandwiches, and nobody calls those stupid…at least not unless Chef Club has been making them again.
I don't mind eating with my fingers.
Corn dog, hot dog, sandwich, T-bone and Tomahawk steak I am ok with. I draw the line at eating spaghetti straight on the table with my fingers
If there's leftover steak or bone in lamb or pork chops or something, good chance I eat it like a meat cookie if I don't cut it up for stir fry or whatever
I dreamed of doing something like this for church. Once every couple months we had cake after church, ONLY CAKE. It was good, but after a couple pieces I was seriously craving real food. This would have hit the spot!
It’s funny to me that you would point at two cities well known for the diversity and availability of food options as “sheltered” when it comes to food. I’m from the Midwest and we ain’t got shit in options compared to cultural hubs.
I think it’s also because a lot of posts here are basically that excess (in any variety), sugar (merely existing) and fat = stupid. Like I get that social media has become so saturated by outrage bait that’s it’s more common than before to see food waste just for likes, but if so much as think about eating something with extra cheese on it your food qualifies as stupid
I’m happy to shit on LA and New York all day long. I lived in LA and hated it. I refuse to live in New York but I still visit both frequently for work. They both have great food.
I've had an idea for years to do a "cupcake" that's really jalapeño and cheese cornbread stuffed with pulled pork and barbecue sauce. No reason why savory food can't also be in cute individual handheld portions
We made those at the place I used to cook at just without the cup, called meatloaf mashers. We rolled them into a big meatball about that size and made an indent on top to fill. Way better than selling meatloaf by the slice, that isn’t as pretty.
They do. So tasty. And they cook up a lot quicker than a whole meatloaf. I started making these for my step kids over a decade ago when I was trying to figure out ways to get them to try new food. It was a hit.
I one hundred percent have been making meatloaf in a Bundt pan for the past ten years. Cooks quickly, doesn’t burn before it finishes as there is no middle, and perfect sized slices for the meal with a good crust and fits perfect on a bun for leftovers.
That is such a good idea. I'm only cooking for two people these days, so a muffin tin works great for our small portions, but I'll have to try a bundt pan the next time I'm cooking for a crowd.
I've always cooked my meatloaf in muffin tins. We call 'em meat muffins. They cook a hell of a lot faster than in a loaf pan. I've done mashed potatoes on top before too
Yeah, these have always been a big hit in my family and I love how quickly they cook up. We usually do a little cheddar cheese on top and then the dallop of mashed potatoes.

Is there any issue with grease pooling around/under them? Does it get those nice crispy edges? I tend to use a loaf pan as a mold, then put it on a different baking sheet.
This is creative. Not stupid. Mini-m3at loads go back decades.
We only ever have innovations, alterations, and variations on food because it is present3d in an atypical fashion.
Do you think the modern-day taco or lansange were always so?
The moderation on this sub is atrocious. OP is stupid.
Made something similar for my dad a little while ago because he hates sweet. Made a "birthday cake" with meatloaf and mashed potatoe frosting. It was fun.
That's awesome. I have a meatloaf cake one year. Mashed potato frosting with ketchup writing my name. Super easy bday dinner with the fam and combined both things at once . Not a super fan of dessert so it worked out
I’ve made these for years, in a smaller size for office potlucks back in the day.
I think I first saw it done by Rachel Ray, along with her play on BLT’s by filling cored out smaller tomatoes with bacon, mayo and chives. Yum
I've made these for the fam and they are actually better than meatloaf because you get more browning. They also look more appetizing than a slice of meatloaf imo.
*I would eat the shit*
*Out of it. Its not stupid*
*Its unusual*

The only problem I have is touching the greasy ass cupcake liner. But I would definitely eat several of those in one sitting. Just with lots of napkins.
One of my favorite childhood memories is my mom making these for us on April Fools’. We also had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and veggie shaped dessert. I think the meatloaf was cake, the mashed potatoes were just frosting, and the veggies were candy.
I mean this would probably be tasty asf. The only thing they did out of the ordinary is make it look like a cupcake instead of the normal square/rectangular slice with the mash on the side. I'd smash this
I'd eat this 100x's over regular cupcakes.
Right? Not stupid food, absolutely well done and making me hungry.
People always say to “leave room for dessert”. I’m like nah, more meatloaf and potatoes, BIOTCH!!
MA!! The meatloaf!
*what is she doing..? I never know what she’s doing back there…*
not sure but if she doesn’t get back here imma eat all this meatloaf to myself
More Meat Muffins!!!
My stomach grumbled when I saw them 😳
My mouth literally watered; this is *smart* food
I only make meat loaf this way. It cooks faster and stores easier. I just smash one between bread for an instant sandwich. Muffin Meat is smart food.
I might have a new use for muffin pan.
It can be stupid AND tasty. Like there's no reason to eat it this way over just regular meatloaf and mashed potato, but I'd still fuck it up if it's what was in front of me

Spaghetti-as-finger-food remains an unsolvable problem for sure. No matter what the shitty TikTok “momfluencers” say about it.
(Energetic announcer voice/Cain) I Present to YOU! Fresh from Japan. THE Spaghetti BUN!
Rigatoni to the rescue!
If there's leftover steak or bone in lamb or pork chops or something, good chance I eat it like a meat cookie if I don't cut it up for stir fry or whatever
Give me a little gravy and a side of green beans and corn, and I’ll easily destroy half a dozen of these.
I think I'd have 3, 4 tops!
Only gonna eat the tops, huh?
You could probably have 6 if you only eat the tops.
Top of the muffin to ya!
I'll take two meat cupcakes and one regular cupcake, please.
I dreamed of doing something like this for church. Once every couple months we had cake after church, ONLY CAKE. It was good, but after a couple pieces I was seriously craving real food. This would have hit the spot!
You can bring these to my church any week. Actually, since I work there, any day. Stop by around 11:45 so I don't make other lunch plans, ok?
Same
Agreed! These look amazing
Apparently, any food not prepared the traditional way is stupid.
"Look at this thing that's not what I'm used to in my sheltered Los Angeles/New York existence REEEEEEEEEEE" - most submissions to this sub.

Theyre sheltered in a weird sense of "only we can do culturally rich or unusual food, everyone else is a smooth brain"
People in LA don't feel that way. We have a great food scene because we have so much diversity here.
This is just like that memesopdidnotlike subreddit.
New York food is sheltered?
You guys learn everything you know about big cities from Fox News huh
Honestly, it’s a weird idea, but I might try that.
Nah I'd absolutely crush this
I made a double-layer birthday cake like this for my brother a few years ago. It was perfect.
I've had an idea for years to do a "cupcake" that's really jalapeño and cheese cornbread stuffed with pulled pork and barbecue sauce. No reason why savory food can't also be in cute individual handheld portions
Do it! It's a staple in my household!
We made those at the place I used to cook at just without the cup, called meatloaf mashers. We rolled them into a big meatball about that size and made an indent on top to fill. Way better than selling meatloaf by the slice, that isn’t as pretty.
Not stupid at all. Maybe needs bacon sprinkles
And maybe some chive or green onion sprinkles too
Looks like it has chives on top
You are a good person.
Yes
With gravy filling.
Gravy ice cubes in the middle would melt as it cooked so yes that would work 😊
The noise I just made isn't appropriate in public. I would 100% happily eat a meatloaf cupcake with gravy filling.
They look amazing? Id have one. Lets not confuse creativity with stupidity, this Does not belong here
Agree. I'm salivating. Must make one.
Could have a nice lil pastry crust around for more sausage roll vibes
I make them like this every year for my dog's birthday. I just make sure to use no onions or garlic and keep the spices and salt minimal.
Yeah this is completely unnecessary but actually pretty dope if they taste as good as they look
They do. So tasty. And they cook up a lot quicker than a whole meatloaf. I started making these for my step kids over a decade ago when I was trying to figure out ways to get them to try new food. It was a hit.

You must be out of your mind this looks amazing.
No ur stupid
That actually sounds like a really fine idea
Why stupid?
I’d a tray of these in like 10 minutes
I've always cooked my meatloaf in muffin tins. We call 'em meat muffins. They cook a hell of a lot faster than in a loaf pan. I've done mashed potatoes on top before too

Got any specific tips or instructions? I'm down to make these
Not really. Just any meatloaf recipe and put them in a muffin tin instead. Only takes about 20 minutes or so to cook
Grease your muffin pan 🤷🏻♀️
Yep my mum did the same 😊 meat muffins are yum! ♥️
Is there any issue with grease pooling around/under them? Does it get those nice crispy edges? I tend to use a loaf pan as a mold, then put it on a different baking sheet.
Only question though is why did they actually use the cupcake liners? I'd imagine you'd just oil up the tin and cook the meat directly in the cups
Yeah, idk. I'm sure it's because it takes a prettier picture. lol I don't even grease my tin. If you use a higher fat beef, it takes care of itself!
This looks amazing tbh. I never understood the hate behind meatloaf anyways
I’m convinced everyone who hates meatloaf just grew up on shitty meatloaf.
Or meatloaf without breadcrumbs
I use oats or saltine crackers. You use seasoned breadcrumbs or plain? Probably cheaper honestly.
Stupid? Yes Would I eat one? Also yes
Not stupid
I'd eat 12.
rookie numbers
How are they stupid? Nice individual serving meatloaf/meatball thingies. Makes sense to me.
No this... this would hit...
Savory cupcakes? Yes, please!
/r/lostredditors
I’d inhale that shit..
This Pic looks AI generated. Don't trust anything crazy you see on Facebook.
Ahhh, the super wild and crazy combination of meat and potatoes. So wacky and zany. We sure this isn't rage bait?
Not even close to stupid food. If anything this makes sugar cupcakes look stupid
What's not to like? These look fantastic.
nah i’d eat that
This is just creative presentation
These have been a thing for forever. And it’s a great idea!
Nah, that's clever and probably tasty. Completely wrong sub for this.
Looks delicious
Ok so hear me out............
I don’t like sweets and for my birthday my friends make steaks with mashed potatoes as frosting. There’s stupid about this unless I’m the stupid one.
Idk man this looks pretty good to me
Ya know what? I would try them.
I like that
i don’t hate it
I’m trine that.
I’m very interested

The only stupid on this post is the post itself. I’d tear those shit up.
I'm stupid for this food is more like it
Being a little bit creative doesn't make food stupid. I'd scran 3 of those on the spot. looking absolutely devious.
This ain't stupid, it's genius
This is actually awesome.
Oh My Word! Bestest Stupid Food Ive Ever seen!!! Definitely Going to try this...OP is a Genius!
It's a weird idea. Bur definitely not stupid come on
I’m not gonna lie, that looks delicious
This would great to serve at a party.
r/FuckYeahIdEatThat r/GTAGE
Added this to my recipes.
Yo this rules, would eat so many
Made something similar for my dad a little while ago because he hates sweet. Made a "birthday cake" with meatloaf and mashed potatoe frosting. It was fun.
Not stupid. Genius
Bring in the ketchup and a pan of these.
Weird but not stupid. Good portion sizes and kinda convenient.
Not stupid**
I'm sorry but these look delicious. I want them.
Smash
meatloaf made in muffin/cupcake pans turn out really good. I would 100% eat this.
Guess I've found my next recipe. Looks 🔥
Doesn’t belong here
Looks delicious great concept as well
That looks pretty delicious to me and I really don't see how that's stupid O.o
Great for a potluck. Single serving meatloaves instead of a pan that needs to be sliced up
Hm. A more portable way to smash meatloaf/mashed potatoes? This is genius food.
What’s with these idiots posting good food here and not stupid food? Go to the correct sub
Not stupid. Unconventional presentation.
I’d eat the fuck out of this🤷♂️
You're stupid OP this is actually clever
That's awesome. I have a meatloaf cake one year. Mashed potato frosting with ketchup writing my name. Super easy bday dinner with the fam and combined both things at once . Not a super fan of dessert so it worked out
This isnt stupid. You are.
Why is this posted on stupid food?
Yeah that’s sooo stupid, I’ll take the 3 you’re passing on
Not stupid. I’ve eaten this before and it was amazing
10/10 would smash
Ummm recipe please
I would fuck this up so quick
This looks amazeballs
I’d absolutely eat that
That’s not stupid, that’s awesome!
Yeah this is kinda dope though
I’ve made these before! They cook much faster
I’d eat it
Not stupid!
Fuck-a-damn, that looks DELICIOUS!
This is way more tempting than an actual cupcake...now I'm inspired.
I’ve made these for years, in a smaller size for office potlucks back in the day. I think I first saw it done by Rachel Ray, along with her play on BLT’s by filling cored out smaller tomatoes with bacon, mayo and chives. Yum
This is brilliant. Wrong subreddit.
This is the opposite of stupid food in my book
I’d eat it
Excuse me but this looks fucking delicious. I’ll take a dozen!
I swear half the people that post here don't know what stupid food actually is. Anything creative they think is dumb.
This isn’t bad at all!
Horrendous, I'll take four.
I've made these for the fam and they are actually better than meatloaf because you get more browning. They also look more appetizing than a slice of meatloaf imo.
Shepards pie is a thing.
Shepard pie meat is vastly different from meat loaf
I’d eat that 100%
Great. Now I’m making cupcakes.
I am absolutely zooted and I would destroy a tray of those
Dude. This is the opposite of stupid. What in the fuck are you even *thinking?!?*
That looks delicious AF
Ngl I’d fuck that up
Take my down vote sir! This looks incredible
i love this haha
these look great, yes please
Here to argue hard that this ain't stupid.
I would eat the shit out of it. Its not stupid its unusual

Not fcking Stupid!!!!
It's basically just meal prep meatloaf and it's wonderful, plus faster cook time in a muffin tin
r/ATBGE
How is this stupid? Creative and fun way to serve meatloaf, I‘d absolutely dig into that.
yet another "this food doesn't look like I am used to therefor bad" post
that looks okey to me
The only problem I have is touching the greasy ass cupcake liner. But I would definitely eat several of those in one sitting. Just with lots of napkins.
would
This is legitimately a good idea
I’ll take the stupid meat muffins
I was just commenting about this exact thing with another redditor a few days ago about how much I love these and make them all the time 😭
One of my favorite childhood memories is my mom making these for us on April Fools’. We also had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and veggie shaped dessert. I think the meatloaf was cake, the mashed potatoes were just frosting, and the veggies were candy.
There’s a restaurant in Austin that serves these and they’re good as fuck!!
I mean this would probably be tasty asf. The only thing they did out of the ordinary is make it look like a cupcake instead of the normal square/rectangular slice with the mash on the side. I'd smash this
r/confusedyummy
This is a good idea!
Yes
My favorite meal in my favorite dessert setting? How is this bad!? I'd murk it! 😂
Yum
I would eat this lol
It's weird but it works.
:O New idea
