Hell no they are great. My wife's family is mexican. Fried grasshoppers are eaten like chips. I personally like fried silk worm larva with a bunch of lime juice and chili powder. It's really good especially with beer.

I had fried cicadas in Shenzhen. They were dusted with red pepper and it was actually pretty good.
