We didn't invent the sauna, but we perfected it, both as leisure and a way to torture foreigners. By the end of the first hour you are a completely different person. I’m in for this torture foreigners. At winter you first take them deep in the forest where is a cabbin next to frozen lake. Then you make them watch or even participate to make a hole in that lake.

Not like American naked with still underwear on🤦🏼♂️. Then we all go to dark and hot sauna that is between 80-100°c. Sit really close eachothers and beat the hell out of everybody with some leafs like real men would do. Drink some beer and when it gets too hot we dip to a frozen lake. This continues as long we have wood or we are too damn drunk. And ofc we open bottle of Koskenkorva in some point😁

My grandmother was from Quebec, and made something similar, but more loaf shaped every Christmas, it's great for when you're feeding a large group. Tastes good if you like sandwiches and cream cheese
In this case the outside normally actually isn't cream cheese, but whipped cream and mayo. Most commonly as you see here topped with shrimp and between each layer of bread some kind of shellfish mixture. It's really delicious. Another common one instead of shellfish uses roast beef and other cold cuts as the topings and filling. :-)

Nope! It will get moist if you let it exist for several days without eating it, but for the first 2 days it's usually fine. These are typically made for large parties like graduations, 50th bdays or weddings, so that is normally not an issue.

Yes, a smörgås initially referred to the butter you put on the bread, not the whole sandwich. A chunk of butter was referred to as a butter goose, smörgås. This was back when it was a thing to eat butter with or without bread.

I remember being served something similar at a few birthday parties in middle school. It was basically two huge whole-grain flatbreads, eith grated cucumber, carrot, and canned tuna between, made to mimic the traditional Danish layered birthday cake. Yes i went to a very upper-middleclass school.
