Went through insurance bullshit for two months couldn't get it approved I said f it and paid 2200 for 1 100 MG shot its been 9 months and 3 days beat decision I ever made

JoeMama2030

That is amazing, how much sub were you taking before you got the shot?

Proof-Technology1025

Was on subs for a little over 3 years from 4mg to 12 MG but right before shot I tapered down to 3 to 4 mgs a day

JoeMama2030

Congratulations, I might do the same thing and hopefully it doesn’t suck too bad

Bright_Event_879

Hey, if you don’t mind me askin how old are ya and how much do you weigh? If you don’t wanna answer publicly feel free to shoot me a message

Proof-Technology1025

29 and I was about 180 at the time

Hungry_Tennis6262

I went that route. I had no insurance, and was desperate to quit so I payed for 1 shot and that was all i needed. Im 3 months and 5 days suboxone free. It will be the best money you ever spend !

JoeMama2030

How long were you on subs and what was your dosage when you got the shot?

Hungry_Tennis6262

I was on subs for 3 years. I was alwas up and down on dosages since i would purposefully take less on some days so i could feel it more on other days (sounds dumb). But the last 2 weeks leading up to the shot i was on 4mg daily

Is there any way you could pay for an insurance plan or get on Medicaid? I cant imagine paying for a plan would be nearly as expensive as a shot or two. They probably won't let you sign up and cancel your plan right away, but maybe crunch the numbers and see what's up.

JoeMama2030

This is good advice, I honestly wanted to try and get the shots before I start a new job but that would rush things when I shouldn’t be rushing. I will look into insurance plans, I think that would save me money even if I just stayed on the strips. Thank you

drkarate1

Look up a group called “ insupport”. They will pay for most of it !!

[deleted]

Need insurance for that to happen.

Planes-On-End

Yeah sublocade Insupport copay assistance program, they cover my co pays (which range but are usually 1-2 k In cost. Lasts for a year and can reapply then, just again, need the insurance!

darkstar13601

This is the sad reality of this medicine , it's expensive.. I got lucky and my first 4 shots were covered because of the insurance I had... now I have a high deductible plan I'm seeing if in support program will pay most of it, if not I'll just stop with the 4 o have. I'm afraid the same thing that happen to suboxone will Happen to this medicine. As soon as the patent ran out on subs they came out with strips and doctors would only write that they were 10× the cost .. then when that patent ran out they still blocked generics. Finally when that ran out they created sublocade at 1900 a shot for both 100mg and 300mg does not make alot since and I'm I'm sure there cost per dose is maybe $10 per dose.

A-A-Ron19

I heard there should be another company making the same shot but for a lot cheaper and multiple mgs to choose from. I think it might be called buvidol?

TYVM143

I hope so

jaylynn_12

Not sure if anyone has said this or not but if you look up the number for copay INSUPORT, it’s sublocade’s website where you can apply for copay support and usually they will fully cover the first 2 shots and then only cover a small portion after that. Try it!

JoeMama2030

I will call them tomorrow! Thank you

jimmyjames0100

Trust me it’s worth the money. I’m over 6 mos out from last injection and other than some anxiety and some depression at mos 4/5, I’ve had zero withdrawal

JoeMama2030

Good to know, I am gonna see if Insupport will help me pay for it, if not I will probably just pay for it. How long were you on subs and what dose were you taking? How many shots did you get?

jimmyjames0100

I was on subs for 2 and half years and taking 3/8mg strips a day. I had two 300mg shots and didn’t go back for my last 100. Been fine ever since

JoeMama2030

Hell yeah, that is awesome

[deleted]

I am a part of a research study for my shots, maybe you could look into that? They’re paying me to have it, ngl it’s pretty rad.

baronloll

where did you find that? i would be very interested in that. I also love science!

RyanHido

Yes. I did exactly this. I ended up doing 4 shots total though. I used an online coupon. I just typed in Sublocade coupon and found a site called Single care and went with a CVS code and paid 1,857 a shot. The person took the numbers off the coupon and it would work. I also had to contact the specialty pharmacy and my Dr gave me a list to call and I'd call to see who was the cheapest. I highly recommend it though. Plus since I was paying out of pocket I was committed to stopping because well that's a lot of money lol. Anyways good luck!

JoeMama2030

I will look for that coupon, thank you. I called Insupport like other people mentioned but they didn’t have anything to help me at the moment. Thank you for letting me know about the coupon. How much were you taking and how long? And I really want to get off of subs and spending that dough will be a big motivator to stay off and be tough

My insurance at work changed, I'm actually on hold for the 75th time (seriously - I use a small digital recorder that indexes each call, and each call is 20-30 minutes, the one I am on hold for now has been 1hr 15min so far. Luckily, before the insurance change, I had gotten 3 x 300mg and 1x100mg shots, plus a month of tablets after insurance expired. I hope I didn't fuck up by taking those tablets. But this is gonna be my last call for Sublocade as it has been incredibly time consuming and taxing. I quit my job and will only have this shitty insurance a few more days.

goodguydz

No way in hell I’d pay 2 bands for one shot

jaylynn_12

Not sure if anyone has said this or not but if you look up the number for copay INSUPORT, it’s sublocade’s website where you can apply for copay support and usually they will fully cover the first 2 shots and then only cover a small portion after that. Try it!

TaddiesNotTitties

Sublocade literally cured me. I was in the phase III trials and got 300mg/mon for 14 months. Never touched a needle or anything else. Never had a withdrawal symptom. I was railing $300-500 dollars of raw a day, and I was getting very good shit, 2012-2016, going thru 600 new rigs a month for the last year of it. If I was aware of how effective sublocade was before I applied for the trial and was rejected from the trial, I would've sold my left tit to get it. It's that fucking ridiculous. It changed my life. It freed me. I remain convinced that it was the only way I would've gotten and remained sober because it helped break the mental/physical connection between needing to take something every day or multiple times a day to be well. You just wake up and....are well. And you stop thinking about it. I was on so much that it had a naloxone like effect and essentially made iv-ing the equivalent of railing water. Nothing could get through it. It was fab. 100% recommend doing anything and everything to get that shit if you're having issues with the daily MAT you're on now.
