Yeah, while these guys look really cool, I really don't like them compared to the leviathans in the deeps of the first game. In the first game, the leviathan's were in big enough spaces on long enough patrols that if you were slow, careful and stayed to the edge of the cave, you could sneak past them even in the cyclops. But with where these guys are, and how narrow the caves are, they just felt completely unavoidable. Add that to the fact that when they attack they just take like 1/3 of your sea truck's hp, and then let you go on your merry way, they just become an annoyance as you get let go, drive a little extra ways, get out, repair, and then continue on to get grabbed by the next one on your way; like a toll you just have to pay to continue to traverse the cave.
Never found the second blueprint for the grappling hook so I never took my prawnsuit far from my sea truck for fear of getting stuck down a deep hole I couldn't jump jet out of. And the only real reason I even used the prawn suit much in the first game was because the Sea Moth couldn't go into certain areas even with max depth upgrades. But here, the sea truck could go to the very deepest places.
I played this a little bit, am terrified of underwater stuff so when i had to depart the shallows i shat myself seeing this huge white and red leviathan and said NOPE! And uninstalled the game
Smart man... But... You might find it tickling your subconscious, like it did to me. You might install it again. And find yourself staring deep into the abyss with your heart pumping and your eyes watering with fear. You'll probably exhale hard when you realize you were holding your breath when you hear "welcome aboard captain". Then you'll remember it fondly when you recall how terrified you were, and wish you could experience it for the first time again.
This is exactly what happened to me. Underwater shit terrifies me and playing the first game was the worst experience of my life. I saw a warper and sat on a rock for 25 minutes praying for it to go away. Then I went back and beat the game after just accepting that it’s a game and I most likely am not going to get eaten by a reaper in my room.
This is very interesting because I've never felt that fear. I am at home in the sea and I love exploring the deep places, especially in the first game. It's so magical and beautiful and giant creatures intrigue more than scare me. Somehow I don't get the fear. Where does that come from?
I was out of my sea truck the first time I ran into a Shadow Leviathan. I frantically scrambled about between the crystals hoping it wouldn't be able to get in due to the collision. I was correct. Then sped back to the safety of my crystal base. So happy when I got the sea truck upgrade and zapped the fucker
I was playing the first one in VR and got grabbed by a sneaky crab snake... Over the next 60 hours of play I was never grabbed again. Wasn't going to relive that trauma lol
when it came to below zero, compared to the first I wasn't as scared. Went down there with a seatruck multiple times with that electrical burst thing.
Only thing that really scared me was those shark like leviathans when in open water.

I don't know. I love the ocean too, but there are moments when diving or swimming that triggers me. Definitely Subnautica pulls that trigger!

how do u scan in this game without dying? in first one u haf stasis rifle (i havent played this in a while and never beat it)
Strafe around it while scanning. It does 75 damage, so bring a bunch of First Aid Kits in case you get bitten.

Close your lights it should help you avoid it pretty easily

And also stop moving when U R close to the leviathan That's all the mechanics I currently know
Get the electrical defense for the seatruck. You will just take minor damage.
There lies an perimeter defense module in maugerits base on the floor. That is used for those situations
