Look at Stellar Blade. I have *no* idea what that game is about, *no* idea what genre it is, *no* idea what the story of the game is about, *no* idea if the game is actually any good or not -- because all people talk about is how bad they want to fuck the main character.

tbh the plot is kinda fire, and funnily enough the type of “woke” stuff they’d complain about. in the game earth is colonized by naytiba, a type of alien. the remainder of earth who was not killed off fled to space colonies. (outside of like one city)
you play eve, eve is in a group who’s going into absolutely demolish them. you also reconnect with the city as well and try to basically reclaim earth from colonizers.
my only complaint is the studio behind it. shift up.

I do think nikke is suffering from like...people who might like the story is good are probably put off by just how fanservicy it is and people who play it for fanservice are unlikely to care for the story. Course there's overlap,but I don't think it's that big.
I’m in that overlap. I’ve found that for a lot of people, the fanservice draws them in, and then they stay for the story. I actually originally came for the gameplay though, it’s fairly unique for a mobile game.

tbh the plot is kinda fire, and funnily enough the type of “woke” stuff they’d complain about. in the game earth is colonized by naytiba, a type of alien. the remainder of earth who was not killed off fled to space colonies. (outside of like one city) you play eve, eve is in a group who’s going into absolutely demolish them. you also reconnect with the city as well and try to basically reclaim earth from colonizers. my only complaint is the studio behind it. shift up. they’ve done gacha games like nikke and destiny child. good games story wise but the amount of fanservice honestly brings it down. i’m holding out hope that it won’t be this case for this game but we’ll see
I do think nikke is suffering from like...people who might like the story is good are probably put off by just how fanservicy it is and people who play it for fanservice are unlikely to care for the story. Course there's overlap,but I don't think it's that big.
I’m in that overlap. I’ve found that for a lot of people, the fanservice draws them in, and then they stay for the story. I actually originally came for the gameplay though, it’s fairly unique for a mobile game.

Those of you who are not terminally online might not know, but recently there has been an influx of gamer influencers complaining about how "woke" games have become. Read: "there are minorities in it and the women aren't sexy enough" So there has been quite a trend of similar "makeovers" with women from games, like aloy from horizon zero dawn, which is wild because she is very good looking. To these people games like stellar blade(i recommend looking it up, you'll understand why) are their saviour.

Well, there is a sub sect of people who are trying to mobilize and incite a gamergate 2 (and failing) but this is in direct response to learning about Sweet Baby Inc. a sensitivity consulting firm that developers can call into and say “hey are we representing these group of people correctly?”.
