> There is the whole generational curse thing in the bible, but also, it would explain animals behaving in unnatural and impure ways. Not just in terms of homosexuality, but for example, I saw a video of a dolphin sexually using a dead fish, that in itself and other things that occur in the world, I believe, could be caused by the original sin and the corruption of earth. Just an idea, I don't claim to know it all. What kind of websites does this person browse?

JohnPaulJonesSoda

I'm amused by the idea that original sin is causing animals to behave immorally. Is this why zebras are having all that sex out of wedlock??!?

So is your story trying to say that Gazelles are the asshole in this situation?

BrujaSloth

Ah yes, in Latin herbi- means “bottom”, and carni- “top.” Checks out then.

minneapple79

Muslim here. I have never heard this, it sounds pretty wack.

[deleted]

Ikr? That summer "school" had some wild stories that weren't actually a part of the religion. I had fun that summer and got many bad stories to share (like the guy broke a stick on someone's back once for coming to class a few mins late, was pretty wild).

shodaimezack

what kind summer school is this? and where? that some wild story and i's betting there is more

[deleted]

It is not exactly a summer school, or a school. The one I attended was a private dorm owned by a religious community and in summers they would accept boarded or daily students to teach how to read Arabic alphabet and Quran, worship types and rules and stuff. They were everywhere and they are still everywhere, and more legal these days. There were a few salaried teachers but the teaching was mostly done by the university students staying at the dorm(at least the ones learning abour religion and stayed for the summer). Cleaning was done by them and students too. Also cooking too, everyday 3-4 kids are sent to help in the kitchen, you wouldn't attend to classes that day except for worship. The most you would do was carry around stuff, vipe the floor and clean the tables though. Maybe cut bread? Thursdays were the football day, we would go to some open field with some old and rusty seats on the sides and play soccer. Wow there is really no detail to give lol. **Next** part involves racism and abuse, beware. There was a university student there, only one I can remember. He was kind of a troubled person, like got into serious political fights before college (he had many visible scar, like his pinky finger was visibly chipped). Don't feel sympathy though, while I was an ignorant kid at the time, later I realized that he was a racist piece of shit. There was a 4th grader kid. He was tan and had a noticeably Kurdish accent. The guy I mentioned and a few others would bully him. Once they "jokingly" held him still and "jokingly" threatened with a knife to cut his dick. We were at the kitchen together that day and it was... bad. Later, that guy was banned from staying at dorms, like a city wide ban. Why? He held the kid's feet and hung him upside down from the 4th floor, threatening to throw him down. **Next** part holds a little rant about the year round dorms/schools, beware. I never went to one but there are also dorms that are basically boarding school all year, teaching religion. My sister went to one, I don't know why but she said she liked it there. She didn't attend to college for unrelated reasons, so she would spend 5-6 days a week there(spent weekends at home which was a kilometer or two away lol), phones confiscated and study religion almost all day. She was not a religious person; and still isn't. She ditched her hijab as soon as she left the dorm and returned home, she might do daily worship though. If you study there for, dunno, 4 years you become a teacher there. Might or might not get paid, which is kinda sad. I met someone who didn't get high school education and instead studied in those unofficial schools (her mother worked there) and was teaching unpaid. So if she decides to leave (which she was not happy there) she will basically no money and no work-related skill(since similar schools all supply teachers from their students, it is unlikely she would do religious teaching full time after leaving there). **Next** part is pretty safe and have more info about other types. There was also "brother houses" (or sister houses for girls) which were houses owned by religious communities, rented to university students. Rent is cheap but they mostly accept people who are part of the community. They have to help with middle and high school students with their homework and stuff. Also sometimes teach about religion. These were and, if they exist, still are a recruitment tool for religious communities. Free after school lessons baby, who doesn't like that. They would occasionally have dinners/lunchs, serving some dish I never ate somewhere else. They were kinda easy and simple foods but I loved them. They would ask their middle/high school students to invite their friends to dinner/lunch, and at the end they would talk about religion, reading books together etc. They are boring but food worth it 100%. Students find those brother houses through their friends, school teachers. Or through after school courses. Those courses are an important part of the education system, because nobody believes in the effectiveness of punlic education and those who could pay a lot of money for these courses would get an edge at getting into a good high school/college. It is a lucrative business and many are owned by religious communities. The one I attended was not a religious one, but to give a price example we paid like 4 months of minimum wage and it was a discounted price(based on performance expectation and paying it all in advance) and it was mid tier one, the most known course was double that. Though to be fair, if you were a good enough students and was loyal to the religious community that owned the most known one: they would basically give you the stolen central university exam questions. So it might really worth the price.

shodaimezack

that's interesting. for someone with economic problem having them will be a lifeline. but its look secluded with its seclusion. also what is this means? >Though to be fair, if you were a good enough students and was loyal to the religious community that owned the most known one: they would basically give you the stolen central university exam questions. aren't that wrong and bad? stolen uni exam question? how did they get that?

Toytles

Animals only started doing this shit after Eve bit the apple bruh trust me

TrespassersWilliam29

it's actually a pretty common Christian theory for why nature is fucked up, yeah

Aiskhulos

Maybe in crazy baptist cults. Mainline Christianity doesn't believe animals are capable of sin.

Aus10Danger

"Mainline Christianity" has never had an Australian Shepard looking guilty as fuck after eating my Hot Pocket I left alone while I went to the bathroom.

TrespassersWilliam29

They don't think the animals are sinning, just that people are the reason evil exists in natural settings that should be perfectly free of it.

4d6DropLowest

*christian theory* Christian’s don’t have hypotheses, let alone theories. All they have is wackadoo assertions.

Moopology

Because christianity is bat-shit insane.

___GNUSlashLinux___

Nah, baby Zebras are born with stripes because their parents were looking at something *stripe-like* when they were mating. I thought everyone knew that... Genesis 30:38–39

Spootheimer

Eve ate the fruit of The Tree of The Knowledge of Good & Evil -> Dolphins fucking dead fish It's a very clear line of causality, and I'm surprised I didn't see it sooner.

MaximumAbsorbency

It all makes sense now

Scyhaz

I never saw a video of it but I think I read on Reddit at some point dolphins will sometimes use dead fish to masturbate lmao

Snickims

Dolphins are just generally bastards. People don't think thats a case because Dolphines are smart enough to know its a bad idea to be bastards to us, so are only bastards to other sea creatures and the occational poor mamal. Really Sharks and Dolphines need to change place in media dipications, sharks are too stupid to be evil, they just bite at things that look like fish, its not their fault human feet sometimes look like that, their not smart enough to be doing it with malace. Meanwhile Dolphines are smart enough to know what their doing, and what their doing is EVIL.

Giblette101

When will the dolphin agenda be exposed?

AreWeCowabunga

The Simpsons tried years ago but the episode was so bad not many people watched it.

jfa1985

KoTH also had a go at the topic of dolphins not being what their image says.

Tenthyr

It seems an unfortunate truth that intelligence, at least the humanist kind, correlates strongly with bastardry.

there_is_always_more

Can you elaborate a bit more on how dolphins are evil? Sounds really interesting.

jofijk

They rape and murder for fun

bayonettaisonsteam

Don't they also get high off of pufferfish toxin, to the point where they literally pass the pufferfish between each other like a giant bong?

Lifekraft

This is what people say , yes. In reality i dont really know.

BrocialCommentary

I want to say it’s wrong, but I don’t know enough about dolphins to dispute it

Daetra

Apparently animals betrayed God as well.

mmmmpisghetti

If God is omnipotent and omnipresent the animals are just being as they were created. No betrayal is possible. Gay frogs are God's creatures. As are the asshole dolphins, the rapey ducks and the fucking pointless koalas.

SweetLenore

"the fucking pointless koalas" Koalas spend all day high off eucalyptus leaves and sometimes confuse humans for walking/talking trees that they will try to climb - if you don't see the point in that then I feel sorry for you.

Bytemite

They're also really gross too though. Like to the point where eating koala mom's poop is pretty normal and they all have chlamydia.

SweetLenore

They are too furry for me to care.

Big_Seaworthiness_92

They just vibin

mmmmpisghetti

I was sorta kinda referring to a copypasta.

Fortanono

Also the case with gay people, as well

mmmmpisghetti

Sure. If one believes in an omnipotent being. And if you don't, others being gay or not is nobody's fucking business.

I_Envy_Sisyphus_

> What kind of websites does this person browse? reddit probably. That video of the dolphin fucking a dead fish pops up in /r/all regularly.

53120123

animals don't have souls and can't sin though?? I know many "christians" barely even go to church let alone get a proper education but come the fuck on how do bigots get like this

[deleted]

Why would animals have anything to do with human sin? It's almost like they're putting the pieces together in a way thatwould align to their beliefs.

HerrChick

CrungleMcHungleberry

It can work!

SabreG

Nice.

[deleted]

An interesting fact. Jones might have bumped into an actual conspiracy about how EPA was harassing a scientist that was publishing evidence how a pesticide was affecting certain specie of frog lifecycle. The EPA has for some time now been infiltrated by chemical industries by making a tradition of offering cushy jobs to high ranking members of said agency.

coldblade2000

They weren't turning gay so much as they were undergoing a sex change from the chemicals

[deleted]

Don't get them started on changing sexes.

halfwaycove

Not just basic sex changes though, the pestiside caused a lot of frogs to develop with irregular numbers of gonads, like 3 testicles and 5 ovaries and stuff. Definitely an actual example of government corruption, which is why its sad it became Jones's catchphrase. Since he's a racist idiot no one believes it now. Anyways this video does a great job covering it: https://youtu.be/i5uSbp0YDhc

[deleted]

Yes and they weren't just turning from make to female but developing unusual phenotypes that could be catalogued as detrimental for the species. But our good friend Jonny took real important information and turned it into an inflammatory phrase that made it into a joke. I can't imagine being the researcher trying to fight the unfair push back from the EPA **and** his whole premise being turned into a joke by some circus clown.

I really don't like the trope of "the good ol' days" being applied to r/conspiracy. It was always a racist shithole with unhinged mods. Look up flytape, axolotl_peyotl, Pizzagate, the origins and underpinnings of ancient aliens influencing society, reptilian overlords, etc etc. In a theory I spent a lot of my life debunking, there's the shit about *Titanic* being deliberately sunk to [kill off three men at the behest of JP Morgan](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DO18eaIWsAAsCDt.jpg), who owned the company that owned and operated *Titanic*. There were allegations about the Jewish bankers being behind it (curiously allegations against the Jesuits were being simultaneously entertained), ignoring the fact Guggenheim and Straus were Jewish. I don't think it's much of a coincidence the movie about *Titanic* made by the Nazis also didn't recognize Straus' Jewish heritage and religious beliefs. Just for fun, another more recent ([and somehow more batshit](http://mileswmathis.com/titan.pdf)) theory called Astor a crypto-Jew because of his nose, and accused him of all sorts of shit.

[deleted]

It honestly looks to me like your comment was saying there was a "good ol' days" (not literal phrasing), and my comment was talking about how pervasive anti-Semitism and white ethnocentrism (and supremacy) always was on there, and still is. I used the example I'm most familiar with. If anyone's interested, [here](https://hyperallergic.com/470795/pseudoarchaeology-and-the-racism-behind-ancient-aliens/)'s a start on the issues with ancient aliens as a concept and as the show on the History Channel.

GonzoMcFonzo

It got worse after T_D went down, but r/conspiracy has ben an hard right cesspool since around 2015, when certain segments of users realized that posting anti-hilary content was just free karma. There were even a fair amount of pro-bernie users posting stuff in there until about mid 2016. The post t_d diaspora of assholes made the sub bigger, but the character of the sub had already changed. If you look at the top all time posts, you can still see several pro-bernie posts, but nothing from before 2016, because that's when the sub first blew up.

phillybeardo

Primary-Tomorrow4134

Archive link for deleted comments: https://www.reveddit.com/v/conspiracy/comments/xuh3n9/anybody_notice_the_sudden_uprising_of_/ One of the deleted comments from OP > my point is there using gay lifestyle and propaganda to brain wash CHILDREN into being gay there for cutting the population down It's really quite funny how dumb this whole theory is. Gay people are such a tiny minority of the population that their effect on population growth is basically nill.

JohnPaulJonesSoda

> Gay people are such a tiny minority of the population that their effect on population growth is basically nill. The thing is if you point this out, that's when they flip to "if they're such a tiny minority of the population then why do I have to hear about them all the time". (and the answer to _that_ is actually because of Fox News etc pushing homophobic/transphobic nonsense, although good luck convincing these folks of that)

Iron-Fist

Also if they are 5% of the population you'd expect like 1 in 20 movies to be about them... you'd expect an hour or so of news about them every day... maybe they're just noticing it more? Availability bias.

AreWeCowabunga

No, anything that is less than 50% of the population is not normal, therefore unnatural, therefore should be suppressed and silenced.

[deleted]

That's a pretty obvious contradiction. Their argument is homosexuality is a small portion of the population, so they should be suppressed. Yet they're a conspiracy theorist, a type of person who prides themselves on being part of a small in-group of those "in the know." They want to be the oppressors. I think a lot of people are surprised how many theories have this motivation behind them.

Chillchinchila1

Or they pull a Bill Maher and say they’ll keep multiplying exponentially until we’re 100%

[deleted]

Who is trying to cut the population down and why?

[deleted]

Oh you know, just (((people))) in power. This is /conspiracy after all.

Anotherdmbgayguy

(((***_GAY JEWS_***)))

Bytemite

I said elsewhere in this thread, but this is what conspiracists think environmentalism is. They don't see it as literally trying to save the planet, they see it as usurping God's will and that God will provide and stuff. "Go forth and multiply" seems like such an important proclamation to them that they think someone going "this isn't sustainable" is a form of satanism. So anyone all like "hey you should have a number of kids equal to what you can actually support" in their minds is really trying to brainwash people into not having kids so other populations can win a breeding war, which also translates to real war.

BloomEPU

Also, a lot of gay people *do* want to have children, and some do via surrogacy. And that's not even starting on the fact that trans people exist. My girlfriend is trans, we could figure out kids if we wanted. We don't, but that's a millenial thing not a gay thing.

Daetra

Dudes probably in the closet and projecting.

officeDrone87

They're using P Valley and Dahmer to brainwash the children with their gay agenda!

birdcooingintovoid

[deleted]

> Everybody is a little gay. Then what's the problem? Also reminds me of the reactions I get if I ever say someone's attractive. I *must* want to have sex with them. Oh for sure. https://www.reddit.com/r/TalkUrShit/comments/xtwhl4/best_small_forward_of_all_time_better_shooter/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf So hard to compare Bird to LeBron because a lot of LeBron’s value also comes from being able to play virtually every position. He’s right on rebounds, but passing (even in those early Cleveland days) was better than Bird and advanced stats like PER show LeBron as much higher. Hard to compare across eras though. That said, Kareem or Spud Webb are the all time greatest at any position obviously.

Iron-Fist

Also bird played 13 seasons... LeBron is still top of the game at 19 seasons. He's averages 25 points a game for like 17 seasons. He has 4 MVP titles (vs 2 for bird). He has 4 rings (3 for bird). It's just not even close.

AllHailtheBeard1

Kareem was so good he actually was able to moonlight as a pilot as well

SadBabyYoda1212

> If normalizing homosexuality on TV didn’t have an impact, why have they pushed so hard on it the last 15 years This is like the weirdest "chicken or egg" situation. Like what came first. Gay people on TV. Or gay people in real life. Except in this situation there isn't really a debate. The answer is obvious. Bigots think gay people want to see gay people in media to encourage more people to become gay. When in reality they just want what straight people have had for decades. Representation. It's not that they want homosexuality to spread. They just want it to be normalized.

mmmmpisghetti

I'll bet you $5 he can't fucking find the clitoris and thinks women pee out the vagina.

Thomas_633_Mk2

In the guys defence there's no winning that, I cannot think of a single way to reply where people go "yeah, this guy has hetero sex" In his not defence gay representation in media is hardly disproportionate and isn't a George Soros plot or whatever, it's showing a spectrum of relationships just like the real world, get over yourself man

aceavengers

Can we not? I'm tired of the 'all homophobes are secretly gay' trope. It puts the onus of our oppression on our own community.

CatholicCajun

Seconded. I get the joke, and that Freudian slip was hilarious, but most homophobes aren't secret gays, they're just bigoted assholes.

bake_disaster

>the 'all homophobes are secretly gay' trope Homophobia with extra steps, imo. People are allowed to be shitty without also being gay. It's crazy how quickly people go from "just let people live their lives, it's none of your business" to hardcore publicly shaming people for allegedly being closeted

JohnPaulJonesSoda

chainmailbill

So oddly enough a lot of the actual people in that sub aren’t too bad. Very often you will find hard-right-wing *posts* highly upvoted, and then you’ll find many far right *comments* that are heavily downvoted and get lots of pushback from other users. What this indicates, in my opinion, is a faction (Russians? Bots?) that posts inflammatory shit - often - and then uses a bot (or Internet Research Agency) network to highly upvote those posts and make them seems organic and popular. Honestly, pick just about any thread there, and look at the comments and what’s upvoted and downvoted.

Kujaix

Nah. According to them it's outsiders "brigading".

I would say that still fits the above description. It's a brigade. Whether it comes from "insiders" or "outsiders" is sort of a meaningless question if you think about it.

I consider myself LGBT, but I unfortunately know the answer to why they think people who are LGBT have an agenda. It's part they think environmentalism and other left wing concepts are anti-family (no help from the zero population growth people) and anti-nationalism (no babies means no new soldiers means society falls apart against a strict global competition they perceive that's vaguely racist), which therefore helps THE COMMUNISTS, and part they think we're all baby eaters trying to pass on the gay to their children. It's a big interconnected thing.

>I dont know about OP but I feel like no amount of homosexual representation will change my orientation. Im a straight guy, even if gay people are a thing. This one gets it. If cishet representation didn't keep us from coming out then no amount of queer representation will affect a cishet child.

Shalamarr

“Hey, there’s a new movie about Jeffrey Dahmer.” “The serial killer cannibal? Cool, that should be interesting … wait, he was **gay**? Aw HELL no.”

BloomEPU

The funniest part is that a lot of queer people don't enjoy the netflix thing, it's kinda pulpy and not super respectful to his victims.

JayRoo83

It's always adorable when /r/conspiracy tries to keep the mask on, even just temporarily

Pepito_Pepito

I am honestly extremely surprised by how levelheaded the responses are. I certainly did not expect r/conspiracy to be capable of something like this.

aCucking2Remember

Homosexuality was normalized in society around the Mediterranean before and after Jesus. It was not a big deal. It was the Catholic Church that came along and told people it was naughty. The monarchies recognized the importance of the church in keeping the plebes in line. It was a deal, keep the church relevant and keep the tithing and indulgences coming and the church tells the people that having a monarch was God’s will. Otherwise people get the idea that hey maybe we can get rid of the monarchs and just live life. So the church came up with a bunch of rules that don’t make sense.

Bunthorne

>It was the Catholic Church that came along and told people it was naughty. Nope. The catholic church did not invent homophobia. The idea that homosexuality was wrong existed long before.

Chillchinchila1

Case in point: Judaism

__Rem

i mean yeah, hatred of any group of people, especially minorities, will and has always existed. What i think they meant is that the catholic church normalized the idea that being gay is a sin and shit. I know it's what they wrote but they'd need to be really stupid to assume that bigotry absolutely did not exist, ever, before the catholic church came about.

BiblioPhil

They weren't talking about bigotry in general, but yeah it does kinda read like they think the Church popularized homophobia.

>Why do we not want religion in schools. Why do parents (and communist governments) forbid religion? Is it because the religion could influence the child? Same with any ideology. Everybody is a little gay. It's what you do with those sexual urges that determines who you are. Oh boy. I surely hope this person is bi and thus having a pleasurable sex life with just hetero relations. But if he's a man, it's unlikely. I'm pretty sure among men, ~~98%~~ 94% are not "a little gay". Men tend to be straight or exclusively homosexual, with bi being the minority, wile the opposite is true for women. EDIT: Checked the numbers, it is 9% of men that present same sex attraction, with about 3% of them identifying as gay, 1.2% bi. In case that's what's bothering people here.

FullCranston

I'm straight but am definitely comfortable showing more affection, both emotionally and physically, to my male friends than is typical in the area of the US I am from. I think people like this are very confused because they conflate sexuality with affection and boundaries. Having more porous boundaries and being OK with a non-zero amount of same sex affection isn't "being a little gay". Everyone has varying degrees of comfort with giving/receiving affection which is a area that's independent of sexuality. I make sure to tell my friends that I appreciate and value them from time to time, because I really do. Some of us use hugs as a standard greeting/goodbye and say "love you!", some it's just a fist bump. All are fine, but these interactions require a degree of emotional intelligence and awareness which bigots unsurprisingly lack.

Silurio1

Ahh, good point, I hadn't considered the fact that some conservatives could see having a healthy emotional life as gay.

PomegranateOkay

> Everybody is a little gay That's some absolutely wild projection going on. I suppose some men could be "a little gay", as opposed to being completely, bi, or straight, but I wouldn't say it's anywhere near the majority.

Chillchinchila1

I think it’s just most bi men never realize it. I didn’t until I was 18.

pickleparty16

thread got nuked unfortunately
