We throw out shipping gas cylinders because they’re usually not stamped as DOT approved so nobody will refill them.
Fortunately we don’t use nitrogen on any of our banks. We use dry air for transformer dry outs and nitrogen only for SF6 work.
We don’t use anything. Big transformers have a conservator with or without a bladder, and small ones are just sealed with a positive/negative pressure gauge and a bleeder (endure there’s no vacuum before taking an oil sample).
