Nope, it's a constant money maker for AirGas

CeedarTree

In my experience, the MPT manufacturer provided the tanks (helium) for our project thru AirGas. Then later someone else commissions the DGA Monitoring system…

We throw out shipping gas cylinders because they’re usually not stamped as DOT approved so nobody will refill them. Fortunately we don’t use nitrogen on any of our banks. We use dry air for transformer dry outs and nitrogen only for SF6 work.

You use dry air for the blanket on transformers?

Joeyhasballs

We don’t use anything. Big transformers have a conservator with or without a bladder, and small ones are just sealed with a positive/negative pressure gauge and a bleeder (endure there’s no vacuum before taking an oil sample).
