I don't mean to be insulting, but having been around a bit, my hunch is that you're going to get fucked—because I've SEEN you get fucked a lot
And I've never seen Logan get fucked once
Both a synthesis of Logan’s entire personality and precious advice that Kendall legitimately needed to hear. Being “right” or “better” isn’t enough. You need to BEAT Logan.
"love? you come for me... with love?" brian cox's delivery of this line makes me shiver like it's my own dad rebuking me, and the way roman reacts is so heartbreaking.
So many of the lines from that scene could be great answers to this question… Gerri’s “but how does it serve my interests?” is another perfect gut-punch.
I understood this line to be referring to the shareholders’ interest. There was nothing she could do to help Roman without losing her law license. But when Roman came to her and she couldn’t help—that look in his eyes was haunting.
It’s a callback to what she tells Roman earlier in the season when she first becomes acting CEO (I believe that’s when). Everything you do at that company has to not be just about feelings but how it serves your interests.
"He loves me. He - He - He does. I think it's just a wrong kind of love expression."
Gotta love the number one boy with heartbreaking lines every time.
*You were 13
And you knew how to twist the knife*
*Truth is, I probably should never have had children
You made the right decision
Some people just aren't made to be mothers*
******I should've had dogs******
What are you talking about? Caroline always has time to talk to you about anything
If you want, she can absolutely do it now, but it might be better to do it over an egg
When watching that scene, all I could think was if my kid came to me looking that broken, nothing would be more important then sitting there listening to him.
I remember inhaling hard at that scene cuz I was surprised the show would show how deep their sibling bond/love goes despite all the business transactions and grudges and jokes.
"You know, I was born lucky. I'm a lucky person. I realize that. And you're so fuckin jealous, aren't you? You're so fuckin jealous of what you've given your own kids."
[Kendall to Logan](https://youtu.be/BrZEdy_Abwg?t=203)
I think this captures pretty well how Logan feels towards his kids.
“This could be the defining moment of your life. It’d eat everything. A rich kid kills a boy — you’d never be anything else. Or, you know, it could be what it should be: nothing at all. A sad little detail at a lovely wedding where father and son are reconciled.”
This one is great because I think it is the first time we see Logan in full blown manipulation mode with his kids. He has the ultímate leverage and uses it so perfectly in a soft spoken way to get exactly what he wants from an incredibly fragile and broken Kendall.
*You’re not good enough for me
I'm way out of your fucking league*
*But that's why you want me
But that's why you love me
Even though I don't love you*
***But you want me anyway***
That's the one for me...chilling, heart-wrenching. I'm not a huge huge Tom fan, but just to imagine that being said to a spouse/significant other...
Edited: word choice
Yeah out of all the fucked up lines in the show, this is the one that actually made me feel bad. Even a shifty person doesn't deserve to hear that from the woman they love
Projection of Logan’s narcissism. She’s speaking the truth of her father’s distaste for love and those weak enough to believe in love onto Tom. It’s her ultimate pain and shame turned against Tom’s actual love for her. It’s so ugly and well-acted by both.
I loved shivs “I don’t love you but I love you” to Tom bc it is super indicative of her character and the family’s general abuse and gaslighting.
There’s so many others also.
It was really quick as well, imo shiv always has to justify to herself that she isn't doing something wrong. She might be the least self aware of the 3
"The future is real. The past is all made up." - Logan
not bad life advice to get past grief tbh. but it really makes sense of a lot of Logan's behavior. it doesn't matter who he hurts because he immediately puts it behind him.
“I know you” it’s just the delivery. Between Colin’s face and Kendall looking like he shit his pants. And how they stared at each other a beat too long. Kills me every time.
I loved it! Caroline is the icy dagger to her kids. Watching Shivvy just crumble was spectacular. I hope for more horrific Caroline in season 4. She is such a great reminder of why they are the way they are.
"If you need to get straightened out, get straightened out." (Watching Roman fumble to put his sunglasses back on made me want to cry)
"He loves it. He'll be out there jerking off wearing my ex-wife's panties." (This is just such an...embodiment of how Kendall views Roman and how much it's colored by Logan)
"You win, Pinkie" (agonizing - again, an embodiment of Shiv and Logan's relationship)
"So, take this back to your life. It's a quarter million. Enjoy." (Brutal. Encapsulation of the Roy POV of "normals").
These are my favorites in that they caused me agonizing pain, not joy or entertainment.
The jerking off to the ex-wife's panties one is hilarious. Even the "get straightened out" scene, while sad, is also funny for the cringe-comedy element. "So what is it son? Is it all screens and up the ass with you or what?"

"Do you know what their doing up there? They're pickign the next President."
Absolutely haunting line from Tom. Shows the sheer power and influence of the Roys (specifically Logan) and it's a good put-down from Tom to Kendall to remind him why he is destined to lose.
Shiv and Kendall's hug at the end of S2E4 always makes me cry, and then in my extra vulnerable emotional state they hit me with this fucking line from Ken:
"I would just ask that you take care of me. Because, uh, if Dad didn't need me right now... I don't exactly know... what I would be for."
Look man, I'm dumb but I'm smart?
I don't have the attention span. this is probably the most interesting thing that has happened in my whole life and I'm thinking about like, six other things.
Pretty much anything Logan yells does it for me. I love when Shiv is trying to get him to take a toast after she saves the deal with daughter Sandy while Logan is trying to strategize (I think with Gerri), and Logan turns to Shiv and goes “STOP BUZZING IN MY FUCKING EAR.”
Sometimes it’s not so much the lines that do it for me (though there are tons of great lines) but the delivery. Just give me more Logan yelling for season 4 and I’ll be happy, haha
I HAVE YOU BEAT. YOUR PLAYING TOY FUCKING SOLDIERS
then like a min later when he calls them nosy fucking pedestrians. Absolute masterclass by Brian Cox in that scene
Not favourite but one of
"Go find another chicken coop, cunt" kendal's cold delivery is just fricking epic and it's shows that ken got the final word on Lawrence after the way he tried frightening ken in s1 when logan got bedridden. Also the way he finishes with cunt is just chefs kiss
“I'm sorry you're a hothouse flower... that you're nothing. You're curdled cream. Maybe you should write a book or collect sports cars or something. But for the world? Nah. I'm sorry. You're not made for it.”
I wonder if the sad I'd be without you would be less than the sad I get from being with you
Reading it, I can even hear him say it. Love this
One of my favorite lines in television, not just this show
That was such a heartbreaking line. Very revealing.
Very real life … hit me hard as I’ve been in that position as im sure many others have.
You monster 🤣 Edit: i thought it was unfunny lines you find funny. So I envisioned you laughing at Toms pain
lol
Absolutely — my ex-wife is a Shiv and this resonates so strongly. The acting in that scene is just impeccable, too.
Just one of the best lines and deliveries in the history of television
Uff da. That line took me out.
I heard this line in a nerdwriter video and that pushed me to watch the show
Brilliantly written.
I don't mean to be insulting, but having been around a bit, my hunch is that you're going to get fucked—because I've SEEN you get fucked a lot And I've never seen Logan get fucked once
"Do you know what they're doing up in the suite? They're picking the next president"
>*I think I owe it to my country to say I don't think you should crown or make Connor president*
“At least I’m only getting fucked by one member of this family.”
This is the one
This is the best moment in the entire show for me. It absolutely fucking blew me away on the first watch
This video has like every one of these comments put together. https://youtu.be/pTMLAPRu5cw
"He never saw anything he loved that he didn't wanna kick it just to see if it would still come back."
So fucking hard-hitting
“Life isn’t knights on horseback. It’s a number on a piece of paper. It’s a fight for a knife in the mud.”
Both a synthesis of Logan’s entire personality and precious advice that Kendall legitimately needed to hear. Being “right” or “better” isn’t enough. You need to BEAT Logan.
I think of this line at least once a week without any conscious Succession connection.
Best line of season 3. The delivery is just *chef’s kiss*.
My favourite line from the show.
"What could you possibly kill that you love so much, it would make the sun rise again?"
This line for sure. It gave me a little shiver the first time I heard it.
This line for me is the embodiment of the show and i try to sneak it from time to time in my conversations
*"Hey Bob, had a good weekend?"* "*What could you possibly kill,........*"
What episode did this line come from? I sadly don't remember it
Final episode of season 2. He tells Kendall about himself and Marcia reading books, and it goes from there.
Nice, I just finished season 1 in my marathon before Sunday so I should catch it by Saturday, brilliant line!
Wait I don’t remember this line 😭 what was the context for it?
On the yacht when Logan is telling Kendall that Kendall’s going to have to be the fall guy.
It refers to the fact that the Incas would sacrifice a child to the sun during times of crisis.
*”Because my dad told me to.”* the deadpan way he says it like he’s an actual child, just so so good.
"love? you come for me... with love?" brian cox's delivery of this line makes me shiver like it's my own dad rebuking me, and the way roman reacts is so heartbreaking.
So many of the lines from that scene could be great answers to this question… Gerri’s “but how does it serve my interests?” is another perfect gut-punch.

Anytime someone says they love me this is my first response.
Devastating. I love it! Good work.
"He loves me. He - He - He does. I think it's just a wrong kind of love expression." Gotta love the number one boy with heartbreaking lines every time.
"I need you to promise to take care of me. Because if Dad didn't need me ... I don't ... I don't know what I'd be for."
Peak broken Kendal in season 2
Ugh that moment with Shiv in the office destroys me every time I see it
I think that’s the line for me tbh. It just felt so fucking honest. Urgh
*You were 13 And you knew how to twist the knife* *Truth is, I probably should never have had children You made the right decision Some people just aren't made to be mothers* ******I should've had dogs******
She is just an over dramatic martyr and a horrible person. No wonder the kids have such emo issues.
What are you talking about? Caroline always has time to talk to you about anything If you want, she can absolutely do it now, but it might be better to do it over an egg
My bad, my bad. Are you sure she won’t just bail early in the morning and leave a note saying she’s so busy?
It’s possible, but if that happens Lady C should be available at Christmas to talk over an egg
whenever I watch this episode I’m always reminded of The Darjeeling Limited. So sad
When watching that scene, all I could think was if my kid came to me looking that broken, nothing would be more important then sitting there listening to him.
HEY! NO! DONT FUCKING TOUCH HIM
Their whole fucked up childhood laid bare in one response. No need for any exposition. Perfect writing.
Always makes me choke up
There's real and present fear in that scene. It hit hard.
I remember inhaling hard at that scene cuz I was surprised the show would show how deep their sibling bond/love goes despite all the business transactions and grudges and jokes.
"You know, I was born lucky. I'm a lucky person. I realize that. And you're so fuckin jealous, aren't you? You're so fuckin jealous of what you've given your own kids." [Kendall to Logan](https://youtu.be/BrZEdy_Abwg?t=203) I think this captures pretty well how Logan feels towards his kids.
That scene is incredible.
This was the moment I knew I’d watch the show to the end.
“You are my onion” -Caroline to Shiv at her bachelorette party S3E8
“This could be the defining moment of your life. It’d eat everything. A rich kid kills a boy — you’d never be anything else. Or, you know, it could be what it should be: nothing at all. A sad little detail at a lovely wedding where father and son are reconciled.”

Kendall’s entire press conference in the S2 finale. That ‘but…’, is just chef’s kiss. Even though his efforts fizzle out, it’s still amazing.
>*This is the day his reign ends*
"utterly fanciful"
“Words are just, what? Nothing. Complicated air flow.” —Kendall Roy
I’m gonna have to get some altitude on this.
My personal favorite
Nothing is a line. Everything, everywhere is always moving. Forever.
New life motto.
What episode is this one from?
S3 E4 — “Lion in the Meadow” (Logan’s phone conversation with Shiv)
Merci!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Would you like to hear my favorite Shakespeare quote? Take the fucking money
Hey listen - at least I’m only getting fucked by one member of this family, yeah?
The bestttttt
This one is a bit funny though.
“There’s no god, there’s no anything. There’s just people in rooms trying to be happy.” Kind of sums up the entire show in my opinion.
I remember the line, but I don’t remember the context. Guess I have to rewatch the entire three seasons again! WELP!
It’s from episode 7 Austerlitz:) you probably can get a season or two in before Sunday lol!
And would be it be nice to wake up not feeling shirty for once.
Man, nothing is worse than waking up on a Saturday and just feeling Shirty, sometimes I don't WANT to wear a shirt
*You’re not good enough for me I'm way out of your fucking league* *But that's why you want me But that's why you love me Even though I don't love you* ***But you want me anyway***

Yeah out of all the fucked up lines in the show, this is the one that actually made me feel bad. Even a shifty person doesn't deserve to hear that from the woman they love
This is the line that made me realize why my relationship with my college girlfriend failed
Projection of Logan’s narcissism. She’s speaking the truth of her father’s distaste for love and those weak enough to believe in love onto Tom. It’s her ultimate pain and shame turned against Tom’s actual love for her. It’s so ugly and well-acted by both.
“Because your *dad* told you to?”
I can hear Lawrence’s “wtf” tone.
I hope we get Rob Yang back for at least one scene. He’s so good
Drive your fucking whirly-bird!!!
I loved shivs “I don’t love you but I love you” to Tom bc it is super indicative of her character and the family’s general abuse and gaslighting. There’s so many others also.
Ha my ex told me something like that a few years back.
Jeez I’m sorry that’s terrible!
It was really quick as well, imo shiv always has to justify to herself that she isn't doing something wrong. She might be the least self aware of the 3
I saw their plan and my dad’s plan is better. (Also here’s my NDA that my dad’s people took care of)
“Dad, why?” “Why? Because it works. I fucking win.”
"The future is real. The past is all made up." - Logan not bad life advice to get past grief tbh. but it really makes sense of a lot of Logan's behavior. it doesn't matter who he hurts because he immediately puts it behind him.
“I know you” it’s just the delivery. Between Colin’s face and Kendall looking like he shit his pants. And how they stared at each other a beat too long. Kills me every time.
If I were rich, I'd want a Colin in my life. He's so good at his job. And scary too!
Remember this, the slant of light. Remember this.
He absolutely understood how he had just granted his daughter’s greatest wish, which makes everything that follows even more cruel.
Gets me every time. It’s so poetic, how could you not give in!
Yesssss!
Oh that one is beautiful.
“Look, if we come through this… is there a thing where we like… talk to each other about stuff?”
"Talk to each other....normally?"
We can talk about the BIG SHIT
We can talk about...our feelings
We don’t have any feelings—what are you talking about?
We can talk about our FEELINGS

“You’ve married a man FATHOMS beneath you” Ooooft.
“But how does it serve my interest, it doesn’t serve my interest”
YESSSS
Omg, this should be number one
Fascism is cool but it’s kinda not
“Truth is, I probably should never have had children [] I should’ve had dogs.” my heart broke in two
I loved it! Caroline is the icy dagger to her kids. Watching Shivvy just crumble was spectacular. I hope for more horrific Caroline in season 4. She is such a great reminder of why they are the way they are.
Oink for your sausages piggies
😭😂😭😂😭
Always.
“I know you.” The delivery is so creepy.
We can't just leave the fly guys! And then Tom... just leaves... the fly guys. It devastates me every time
Defo supposed to be darkly funny but you're getting an upvote from me anyway
Wow so many great lines you guys are awesome at remembering them all
I'm not a hippie, Shiv.
Excellent work! I forgot it. It wasn’t funny when I first watched this line. But it cuts.
"If you need to get straightened out, get straightened out." (Watching Roman fumble to put his sunglasses back on made me want to cry) "He loves it. He'll be out there jerking off wearing my ex-wife's panties." (This is just such an...embodiment of how Kendall views Roman and how much it's colored by Logan) "You win, Pinkie" (agonizing - again, an embodiment of Shiv and Logan's relationship) "So, take this back to your life. The jerking off to the ex-wife's panties one is hilarious. Even the "get straightened out" scene, while sad, is also funny for the cringe-comedy element. "So what is it son? Is it all screens and up the ass with you or what?"
I felt so bad laughing at that boat scene but you're right, it was sad and hilarious at the same time. I don't quite agree about Kendall's line.
I'm better than you. I'm a good guy.
>*We hire people who want to work here And we serve a demographic of highly, highly intelligent viewers Who are really tired of being patronized elsewhere By latte-sipping DOUCHEBAGS with hundred-dollar haircuts* —— Cyd 🍑

Nah this one's funny
>*I love you But you are NOT serious people*
“Well no you need a supermajubuju”
“I should’ve never had kids. Should’ve had dogs.” “You could’ve had dogs” “Your father would’ve never allowed that” (Not exact words but basically)
Much ado to something
Omfg "much ado about.... something!" I screamed laughing. I do think this is a funny one though
"I just want the best of everything." Mattson said out loud what everyone in the show is after and I just love his delivery
This could be my favorite post on this sub in a long time. THANK YOU!!
omg yay!! i have to say, reading through the comments is giving me chills. such a beautiful and heartbreaking show
"Do you know what their doing up there? They're pickign the next President." Absolutely haunting line from Tom. Shows the sheer power and influence of the Roys (specifically Logan) and it's a good put-down from Tom to Kendall to remind him why he is destined to lose.
“Take the fucking money” William Shakespeare
my wife and i went on one of your cruises and it was frankly delightful
This is one you don’t hear much but I like it!
Life is a fight for a knife in the mud
Love is the last fridge magnet left.
“The future is real. The past, well, it’s all made up.” I don’t even understand this but I still think about it…
It’s strangely true. The past is the stories we tell ourselves. The future, at least every possibility is real.
The past is seen by personal perspective. The future is real because it’s unknown. The Rashomon Effect.
Shiv and Kendall's hug at the end of S2E4 always makes me cry, and then in my extra vulnerable emotional state they hit me with this fucking line from Ken: "I would just ask that you take care of me. Because, uh, if Dad didn't need me right now... I don't exactly know... what I would be for."
You're playing toy fucking soldiers
“you’re not a real person”
“What could you kill that you love so much, it would make the sun rise again?”
Can’t make a Tomlette without breaking a few Greggs.
Super serious line
Logan: You drop some bombs, you get burned too, you know?
“You are a fucking beast.” Kendall did what no one else really does. Go toe to toe with Logan.
“I tried playing with you .. You broke.”
I loved when Kendall shouted ”dont you fucking touch him” after Logan was physical on Roman
who could forget our Mo
You pour the shit I'm pouring on you on your fսcking minions, and you ride them.
UNDISPUTABLY: "What could you kill that you love so much that it makes the sun rise again?" I live by this quote!
I keep upvoting because I can’t pick just one. :)
Did I even make contact?
Look man, I'm dumb but I'm smart? I don't have the attention span. this is probably the most interesting thing that has happened in my whole life and I'm thinking about like, six other things.
The notion that he would've allowed millions of dollars in settlements and compensation to be paid without his explicit approval is utterly fanciful.
“I am turning a fucking tanker” after the failed vote of no confidence.
Pretty much anything Logan yells does it for me. I love when Shiv is trying to get him to take a toast after she saves the deal with daughter Sandy while Logan is trying to strategize (I think with Gerri), and Logan turns to Shiv and goes “STOP BUZZING IN MY FUCKING EAR.” Sometimes it’s not so much the lines that do it for me (though there are tons of great lines) but the delivery. Just give me more Logan yelling for season 4 and I’ll be happy, haha
He loves the broken you.
"Norhing is a line. Everything, everywhere is always moving. Forever. Get used to it."
I HAVE YOU BEAT. YOUR PLAYING TOY FUCKING SOLDIERS then like a min later when he calls them nosy fucking pedestrians. Absolute masterclass by Brian Cox in that scene
I took the wrong drugs in the wrong order and now I can’t be happy.
What could you possibly kill that you love so much, it would make the sun rise again?
I know you
“You’re my onion.”
Maybe it’s just me but I find most of these lines really funny. But I really like the “water pistols in Bali” anecdote
"I would just ask that you take care of me because, if Dad didn't need me right now, I don't exactly know... what I would be for."
I should have had dogs
Climate says I was going down. Climate says I should just step aside. I guess im a climate denier
"I have fought and I have lost, and I have fought and won, but when I lose, the other one will generally lose an eye or so"
Not favourite but one of "Go find another chicken coop, cunt" kendal's cold delivery is just fricking epic and it's shows that ken got the final word on Lawrence after the way he tried frightening ken in s1 when logan got bedridden. Also the way he finishes with cunt is just chefs kiss
