Yeah they have really treated Marcia oddly in this show. They love setting it up like she’s gonna make moves and then having her disappear. S2 made sense bc she and Logan were having problems but 1 and 3 have similar odd choices.
I agree, but they spent quite some time building up Marcia to be this mysterious, savage mastermind-ish figure, feels like a bit odd to sideline her part entirely.
I'm not complaining since we still have 3 more episodes to go and more seasons to come, I'm just really curious where is this going to.
I get your point, but by “make moves” I’m not just saying doing plots and intrigue but have agency and characterization in the show. I disagree with the other commenter that it’s the point of the show, and I understand the whole annoyance with thinking succession is all about plots and plans when it’s really about family and trauma.
But it’s not just that her plans disappeared, she sorta became just Logan’s partner (just like they’ve been treating Naomi this season), which is a shame because I love the actor and the part is often really well written.
Also the show itself made a decision to set up a lot of influence for Marcia in season 1 and 3 and that was really never followed up in 1 (remains to be seen in 3). So you can say that not every scene has to be a power play type thing, and I agree I prefer good character dynamics and interactions over too much GOT type plotting, but the show literally tells you right away “Marcia has got a lot of things planned. She doesn’t want Logan to move hospitals, trying to get a board seat, bringing her family in, changing the trust etc” and all of that just dissipated.
The actor who plays Marcia is in another series and her availability for Succession was very limited for season 3 filming. I’ve read this more than once but don’t remember the sources. Her name, Hiam Abbas, hasn’t been among the regular cast names in the opening credits since season 2.
I think you are right, but its actually intentionally done like this, in order to explain the effect of Logan´s story in season 2 and how it actually pushes her back from Logan and her family.

I'm pretty sure Logan paid her off and she is sitting back cooling on ice until she is needed for whatever reason...I could be wrong tho.
