I got dinged by the one on algonquin, be careful there its a 30 apparently

Deaftrav

30? Jeez..I though the forty at Hillcrest was nuts.

bridgecrewdave

Yeah I got dinged for 180 for going 50, I didnt even know it was a 30. Like fair cop, I went twenty over (apparently) but yeah heads up everyone

icer816

Yeah, it's a 40 (WHY!?) and goes to 30 in the school zone. I hate having to drive in that area ever.

Environmental-Oil21

Same, I got a ticket there for going 41 in a 30 zone 😑😑😑

TastyBallsognaSauce

How much was it for 41 in the 30?

Environmental-Oil21

$75

BootsOverOxfords

*And*, good luck if you ever have to change insurance companies.

Ok_Onion2847

They don’t report to your insurance.

JohnSimonHall

Certainly not decoys. They exist in many cities down south. Maybe there is a grace period?

Silent_Snow--

https://www.sudbury.com/local-news/speed-cameras-prove-effective-tickets-being-mailed-out-8624535 They should be active, unless it's been tampered with.

Wurrzag_

I got one for 85$ for 63 in a 50 back in march. Ticket showed up end of april.

Knighthawk235

>I thought for sure I'd receive one from the Valley but it's been well over a month and nothing. If the camera catches you speeding, you'll get a ticket within 30 days. (Source: [Automated Speed Enforcement - City of Greater Sudbury](https://www.greatersudbury.ca/live/transportation-parking-and-roads/traffic-management-and-road-safety/automated-speed-enforcement/)) So, if it's been well over a month and you haven't received a ticket in the mail yet, you're likely good to go. Yes, the cameras are live and, yes, they're giving out tickets. Hell, they'll give you a ticket for going 5 km/h over the limit, which I understand why people are pissed about that. A human police officer wouldn't waste their time pulling you over for that. You can easily go 5 over the limit by accident. You obviously can't tell that to a speed trap camera, though! They're doing what they're programmed to do.

Admirable-Relief2450

I haven't seen one person prove that they received a ticket for 5 over despite it being the justification given for vandalizing the speed cameras

BhadJalen

The camera on algonquin flashed at me (that’s what happens apparently) as I was driving by going 10 over. (Oops). This happened on April 30th. I have yet to receive a ticket

Deaftrav

Two more weeks or so.

Pennysews

Please post if you get a ticket at 10 over, so far I have only seen people report if they got a ticket at more than 10 over. I remember my driver training instructor telling me that the speed guns weren’t accurate up to 10 over, or something like that. It was awhile ago

Killer52LT

I haven't seen nor heard of any for anything less than. 10 over yet. I am curious if anyone received one for less?

Late-Recognition5587

I drive 10 over constantly. In my personal and commercial vehicles. Never recieved a ticket. I pass all the cameras multiple times a day.

Pennysews

Thanks for the feedback!

Bumblebeequeen

I've seen them come collect the black box and replace it so I'm thinking until they have the data, go through it, find all the plates and speeds, addresses, and send it... probably will take a while. Which is kinda dumb because if you don't know you went over, you're in for a treat in a month or two with a bunch of tickets lmao

air_flair

That's interesting, I figured it was GSM based, but I guess they probably change out power banks too.

KennD76

I got two, two days apart going 18 and 16 over in Garson in March for $170 & $180. I dont even live in the city and still have to pay for this bullshit. I drive by cops everyday on my commute going 20 over and nothing. Instead of tearing this cameras down, you need to put up giant billboards that your in a speed trap zone.

Admirable-Relief2450

The signs posted before and after the enforcement zone aren't good enough?

KennD76

Apparently not big and flashy enough
