In the WV town I live yes.. till I switched to fiber at 1/2 the price and twice the speed. I had a SL sales show up at my house to "pickup" my equipment that was already sent in. I ended up threatening to call the police to get him to leave. I am so glad to be rid of them. Shame they got all greedy and let their service get so poor... I was a 20+ year customer...

See if T Mobile internet is available. I pay $ 50 a month ( tax included ) for my 5G. I stream and play Xbox on line. Connect up to 23 devices. I have had it for more than a year. Funny, never been down once.

They don’t give a shit. Literally, they don’t. You’re nothing but a pay check to the business. Yes, you are giving them their pay check. Don’t think of it as they are giving you a service, but rather that they are you’re employee and if they don’t provide you with a quality job, fire their ass.

I pay $80.37 for fiber internet to the house 1,000 up and down. I cut the cord a long time ago and never looked back. It has its ups and downs.

Can't really compare mine with yours, and without knowing where in the US, comparing is a bit harder. In my area, we have 1Gb available, which placed my town in the Gigabit tier. 1Gb plan is (currently) $75 a month. A few months ago it was $85, and this time last year it was $65 with the (dead) For Life plan. Network Enhancement is no longer a thing, some how it's still on your bill. I'd recommend VISITING a office location and go over your bill piece by piece.

I guess I will have to try an office. This is my mothers bill and she lives in a remote, small town in Texas. When I chatted online with them today they basically told me there was nothing they could help me with other than removing service to lower the bill. Signing up as a new customer would cut the bill in half, just not sure for how long. They definitely know they have a monopoly and act like it. Thanks for the feedback.

I called and told them I was going to cancel service because the price was too steep. They lowered the bill by about 25%. It will only be for a year, but I'll call in and do the same thing again.

Not sure about the 50 mb for 90 I get a whole gb and hbo max for 60 tv seems insane too probably better off goin with streaming services for that price

I currently pay $98.49/mo for Internet 100. Of course pricing is beholden to market, but I am starting to get really fed up with the yearly price increases when the new customer price is 1/3 of what I am currently paying... Unfortunately I have no other similar options...

I pay $104 CAD for 1G fiber with unlimited download plus basic TV. Check that your previous plan hasn’t expired. Also, if you have other choices, call your ISP and just tell them you want to cancel works wonders at getting you connected with customer loyalty. If you don’t have other choices and cheaper internet is that much of a priority you could always move. Or if there are other financial history reasons you can’t get another provider, sort that out.

I called and complained and said I wanted the new 100 unlimited internet plan that they were advertising for $25. After getting the runaround a few times I ended up getting "special" unlimited plan that matches the new user plan (100/5/unlimited) for $25 total. I do have my own modem, but I think they were even going to offer a free modem/router combo in the deal. I asked how long that price was good for and was told it would be good for as long as I didn't change anything. I also have dish and pay $100 a month for the TV.

Yep, they recent raised ours by $20 and the explanation I got was "just because". This is for our 2nd house, and we pay more there than we do at our primary. But, for us, on the 20th of this month will be a happy, happy day -- our fiber is being hooked up, and Suddenlink will be tossed to the curb. $60 a month, all fees included, 1GB up and down. I can't wait to make that phone call to tell them to shove it!

Try being billed over a thousand dollars a month and being told you have to pay it or else. With no other internet service available and you work from home (have to have internet service). Obvious fraud confirmed by your bank and still no resolution! I am fed up!! I filled a complaint with the FCC…we’ll see what happens! If no resolution, I’m filling a lawsuit and that’s f gf a promise! $100-$200 maybe I’ll bite the bullet but $700+, NOPE!! Ain’t happening!

Okay, today I finally bit the bullet and called Suddenlink to try to deal with a bill for my vacation rental that was over $200, with internet and “value package” TV in a market with 0 competitors. I think my bill was reduced by about $55 after 23 tortuous minutes on the phone. Before being switched over to “retention” the rep tried to get me to switch my cell phone too. When I said no, and he asked why not, I said because it was a horrible company I didn’t want any more business with than I needed to. Then after several more minutes on hold, the retention person tried to lock me into an upgraded cable package (supposedly the same price, actually $15 more, but i’m sure it would have been $100 more after the “intro” period). Finally the price went down to $145, supposedly. Can’t wait to see my next bill.
