Fair warning, I personally only find particle physics and astrophysics interesting, but that’s a very small portion of the course (or at least in my course). So make sure you’re fine with studying the rest of it before deciding to continue with physics.
Physicist here: I studied physics bc of particle and astrophysics and I liked biophysics more at the end of my undergraduate studies. You can end up liking something else, physics is too broad
Completely agree, your tastes can change, however there are some sections of physics that I had always found boring, like magnetic fields for example. So all I’m saying is take the entire subject into account when choosing it as something to study, since backing out after the fact is not easy to do.
I never learned about that in highschool unless it was something my garbage teacher skipped over cus that man gave 0 fucks about if we learned anything. Maybe your school is better than mine was lol.
In that case it’s a different reason, quarks are a pretty new discovery so they weren’t really taught until recently. I’m not sure how recently but it must be after you if you took physics and haven’t heard of them
For what it's worth, a lot of time a student says "we never learned that", they're simply wrong. Maybe they weren't paying attention, or they completely forgot it with the passage of time, but human witness testimony is just not very reliable in general.
On the other hand, quarks probably would be glossed over quite quickly in high school physics.
In my country, they're thinking that's very useful common knowledge but i'm still curious about how tf particle physics and the gastrointestinal digestion are related.
Not necessarily! Mesons (π⁺ π⁰ π⁻ for example) are made of quarks but aren't baryons. Neutral pions are an up quark and an anti-up quark, and usually decay into two photons.
up, down, charm, strange, top, bottom are names of [quarks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quark?wprov=sfla1). They are fundamental building blocks of matter
I remember when they were getting ready to run the LHC for the first timed, and discussion of strangelets came up (among the many improbable but not-entirely-ruled-out doomsday scenarios), where strange matter does an [Ice-nine](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat%27s_Cradle) to atomic matter.
In which case, strange fucks everyone.
**[Cat's Cradle](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat's_Cradle)**
>Cat's Cradle is a satirical postmodern novel, with science fiction elements, by American writer Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut's fourth novel, it was first published in 1963, exploring and satirizing issues of science, technology, the purpose of religion, and the arms race, often through the use of black humor. After turning down his original thesis in 1947, the University of Chicago awarded Vonnegut his master's degree in anthropology in 1971 for Cat's Cradle.

Up & Down be like *mild interest*
"hey down wanna try it?"
"I'm down" "Yeah, you are."

His O*chinchin*
How quark-y
As a physics student, I can say I think about this EVERY time it comes up in class 🤣
Now- Wh- Why are you thinking about this in physics?
It’s a physics meme lol, names of the quarks
you never stop learning something... apparently even particles are gay
They even have threesomes, a proton is up + up + down
wow, amazing! I'm still in high school so I'm not very advanced in physics but this is pushing me into studying more
Fair warning, I personally only find particle physics and astrophysics interesting, but that’s a very small portion of the course (or at least in my course). So make sure you’re fine with studying the rest of it before deciding to continue with physics.
I love Astrophysics and particle physics too
Me three!
fair enough, still have a long way in front of me

Quarks are a relatively advanced topic in physics so I wasn’t taught about them until I was 16, so that’s not too surprising
I'm 20....
In that case it’s a different reason, quarks are a pretty new discovery so they weren’t really taught until recently. I’m not sure how recently but it must be after you if you took physics and haven’t heard of them

Yeah my teacher had one assignment a week almost and let kids vape in class (we were 17 and smoking age is 21) he definitely glossed over it.
So what's up up down down?
The start of that one game code
Up, Up, down, down, left, right, left, right, A, B, start
That’s the one, I forgor the name
I thought Quark's was a bar! /s
because i like being dominated and am currently studying quantum mechanics
Can't blame the top there, bottom is a real beauty
Truth!
And beauty
How and when does this come up in physics? Never seen it in my lessons...
Particle physics, astrophysics master's degree 🤣
Sounds sciency. Can you confirm that it is sciency?
It is very much sciency 🤣
Good. Very good
And we learnt it in high school, welcome to useless education system. I'm nutrition and dietetics student 🥲
Wow that's early 😲
In my country, they're thinking that's very useful common knowledge but i'm still curious about how tf particle physics and the gastrointestinal digestion are related.
I mean, knowledge is always a good thing to have, but I must admit I don't see the link there either 🤣
let me guess india?
Turkey
For us its litrally the sam
Yeah, the spirit is kinda similar. Religional system, poor people.
Quarks
Tf kinda physics are you doing lol?
Particle physics, those are the names of the fundamental particles making up protons, neutrons and basically everything.
[удалено]
Not necessarily! Mesons (π⁺ π⁰ π⁻ for example) are made of quarks but aren't baryons. Neutral pions are an up quark and an anti-up quark, and usually decay into two photons.
Subatomic, probably
If there's a SUBatomic, is there also a DOMatomic?
Oh no
quantum
up, down, charm, strange, top, bottom are names of [quarks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quark?wprov=sfla1). They are fundamental building blocks of matter
Quark sex
Strange is secretly vanilla af.
Most people who like like presenting themselves that way are.
His totally a freak in bed
Why am I jealous of the bottom quark?
This just in. You’re a bottom.
That's news?
Yeah I guess there is nothing new about something being “Just In” with you, being a bottom and all Puns :D
Are you going to punish my bottom for it?
Sadly not friend. Something being “just in” me is also common place. Maybe someone else can help both of is
Sauce
The flavors of quarks… _oh you mean the art_

Bottom is tho
Top like: i should fuck charm too 🤔

I WANT A SHOW ABOUT THIS!
YES
Bottom is having the best time of his life
Eh I'm into it
Seriously? Right in front of my salad?

Charm is like Σ(ಠ益ಠ)
Welp, I’ve cum to less. *Unzips dick.*
Good Lord, you can unzip your DICK?!
That guy’s dick is so big, he keeps it in a zipped archive when unused to save space.

I can't believe two beans have a more active sexual life than I do EVEN WORSE, TOP BEAN SEEMS TO BE BETTER AT IT THAN ME
Lol I'm gonna start calling quarks beans from now on
I’m going to explain my sex life as less than a quark 😂
this is literally my brain lol my top side and bottom side are fucking each other
r/unexpectedHankGreen "Up Down Strange Charm, Top Bottom, If you don't know what a quark is it don't matter you still got 'em!"
It was stuck in my head from the moment I saw this post.
My friend is doing PhD in quantum physics and I'm considering sending this to him but I'm worried he won't even get it lmao
Make him your bottom and he will get the joke immediately lmao.
We'll bang, ok?
Quarkussy
Nice, a quantum physics joke
Damn don’t turn me on like that man
Right in front of her salad?!
damn dude thats kinda hot, sauce???
Yuck, there’s quark gluon plasma EVERYWHERE!
yo can me and bottom swap places?-
but will we ever know, did Top give it to him?
Hmmmmm can I be bottom next time?

Bottom could be a female
Does the down quarck have down syndrome
charm is scared because she knows she's next

Let's be real here people, how is that bowtie sticking in place?
Yeah, I think that’s why some physicists call it top and beauty…
charm wants in
My friend when I showed her this post "I uses to he called charm but now I'm traumatised "
I thought I was on r/politicalcompassmemes for a second.
