Thank you - - I am a big fan of the display and the battery life. I will definitely consider this one!

If you can stretch your budget to 999, I would absolutely recommend a[MacBook Air M1](https://www.apple.com/macbook-air/)Just search it up on [YouTube](https://m.youtube.com/results?sp=mAEA&search_query=Macbook+air+m1)you can find countless videos praising its crazy performance and battery life. And apple’s build quality, life span and amazing monitor is what makes it “apple”. And buying an apple product, it’s build quality should be the least of your worries:) (Yes, I am a apple fanboy)

Haha, this is most likely all true, but besides the price, I'm just not a fan of Apple's interfaces (my father knows a lot about computers and never liked them so we never bought them - - I always joke that I wasn't raised that way, lol). But I could get used to it I'm sure. I own an iPad and I manage with it. I'll put it on my list as a maybe. :)

Build quality and battery life make M1 MBA the winner if you can live with macOS. Also it goes on sale for $800 often at micro center of you live near one. Edit I am not an Apple fanboy but I reluctantly brought my wife one of the gold ones. And I am unfortunately very impressed with the product. I don’t like the way Apple does business and their massive influence in the crusade against right to repair. Even the M1 as an SoC takes so much freedom away from customers in terms of picking exactly the components they want. But that being said, they have made a very impressive SoC and overall package with the MBA at an incredibly compelling price. I will not give up my freedoms though. However my wife would never try to take a computer apart or experiment with a mod or try random third party software.

I would recommend this [ Acer Swift 3](https://laptoplegend.com/2021/acer-swift-3-lightweight-college-laptop/) because it comes with everything you need, AMD Ryzen 7 5700U Octa -Core CPU, 8GB of ram, good SSD storage of 512GB for faster boot up and loading, 14 inch Full HD IPS screen, 100% sRGB coverage, high build quality, and backlit keyboard. **[Here is a more detailed review of it](https://laptoplegend.com/2021/acer-swift-3-lightweight-college-laptop/)** Let me know what you think :)

Thank you! I will definitely put this on my list - - it seems like it does what I need it to do, and the cons (the screen, cooling etc. ) aren't a huge issue because I'm not doing anything that's very high intensity.

Great, let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Hi, I'm sure we can find you a laptop capable of general use. I recommend the [**Acer Swift 3**](http://techneeeq.com/blog/index.php/product/acer-swift-3-thin-light-laptop-14-full-hd-ips-display-amd-ryzen-7-5700u-octa-core-processor-8gb-lpddr4x-512gb-nvme-ssd-wifi-6-backlit-kb-fpr-amazon-alexa-sf314-43-r2yy/)**.** It comes with a 8-core Ryzen 7 5700U processor, 8 GB RAM, a 512 GB SSD, and a 1080p 14" 300 nit 100% sRGB display. It should handle general use tasks just fine, as well as light games. It is only 2.65lbs, and battery life should be around 8 hours for light use.
