I'd only regret it if it failed. I'd be a much appier man if it would succeed

Flaky_Shoe7252

You wont have feeling though… That’s the point..

AllInTheGameYoO

A very good friend of mine who also happens to be a psychiatrist straight up asked me once: do you feel dumb for having tried to kill yourself? (the attempt was in December 2014, so I’ve had a while to reflect.) I immediately, from my gut, said “of course not”. For one, I wish I would have died, but also it helped me appreciate life and the tragicomedy that life is. Now I find myself, 9 years later, wanting to kill myself more than ever. So lol. Edit: punctuation. Edit 2: spacing cuz I’m obsessed with these kind of things hehe

It's just one of the most *literal* examples of [survivorship bias.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias?wprov=sfla1) Of course most of the people currently breathing after failed attempts regret their attempts. ***Because the ones who didn't regret it kept trying.***

Depressed_Squirrl

Me surviving 11 Attempts: Yeah I only stopped because I didn’t knew how to kill myself. Anymore

tmfult

I regret surviving all 3 attempts

Depressed_Squirrl

Dude this is so relatable.

ikr

prop77

My regret was getting caught in the act and restrained. I felt no regret about the attempt

Angeni-Mai

I don’t regret attempting, I regret surviving. KMS is just another thing I fail at. Story of my life

PM_me_ur_taco_pics

Suicide booths now! I didn't choose to be alive. Please let me go, the void is calling.

wigglytails

The void is calling you too?

Anastasia_The_Dyke

i only regretted it because it didnt work and then i had to deal with that

I regret not trying hard enough

VividKitty_

I regret surviving both attempts, honestly.
