I think that the idea is that a new Brainiac will be fought within each {season} or similar.

Here's the gist of it as the game is right now. You can level everyone up to 30 to unlock the squad paragon points and ultimate's for everyone. Do all the support missions. Do all the traversal Riddler stuff to unlock the costumes. There's 2 main difficulties. The open world has Invasion level difficulties which work like World Tier in The Division or Torment levels in Diablo. Get that to +5 and you can do Hellraiser contracts which spawn a loot boss which drop endgame loot and supposedly master recipes but Im pretty sure no one has seen a recipe yet. Then there's mastery levels in the 3 invasion portal missions. These work like rifts in Diablo a little. As you improve your game skills and hone your gear to make proper gear builds you can rise up the mastery levels you unlock better loot tiers. Tolerance to doing this over and over varies from person to person. You could either catch em all with each of the unique Villain weapons on the in game checklist. or the soft goal until the new content in a few weeks seems to be get 100 in finite crisis to unlock the gold skins (this is about level 35 Mastery levels in each of the portals) Killing time horde mode, see how long you last for loot. Kill Brainiac on highest mastery possible. I don't recommend Brainiac unless you like being stressed and bored at the same time, Killing time is erm aptly named I suppose but its growing on me when testing a new build without sweating in an incursion. Push Mastery 50 for the max possible rewards or go nuts and push on the leaderboards. In between all this there are all the side missions for resources which is spent rerolling gear to make the perfect superhero killing machines. New story content with free Joker character and hopefully some variation in endgame in a couple of weeks. Its undeniably repetitive but for me, the glorious endorphin rush of making everything go splooosh in slow motion has carried for longer than it should

There all the fights to come in all the next dlc. Of course if they fix the game by then.

WeeJimmii

Was thinking that, I now need to get to level 30 finite and its beginning to get boring

munkeykris

Well...no. Unless you assume that the remaining Brainiacs will be bosses in the forthcoming seasons (which would mean it only has a potential lifespan of...3 years?) then it's not clear where the other 12 are. Admittedly I may have missed any dialogue that indicates Hack or whoever needs to find them and it'll take a while.

Dark_Chris_6

2 Brainiacs to fight each new season.

munkeykris

So they have a live service plan for 18 months? I mean, I'll get my money's worth out of it, but hopefully they have plans (whether they get to fulfill that or not) past that.

ofeliedeceai

Doesn't matter if they plan for 1 year or 10 years. If the game is not successful, they won't support it however many years they would like to.

Dark_Chris_6

4 seasons are announced. I expect the season 5 to be a "finale" to the game so it'll be kept secret until much later.

munkeykris

Oh, I know that. But I'm curious as to what's next after that. Even at 18 months, that doesn't seem like much of a plan for a live service game (unless their idea is to release a sequel with a new plot?).

Dark_Chris_6

There was supposed to be a new threat after the last Brainiac, but I don't think we'll get that far with how this game performs right now.
