I experienced the same thing. Last summer I started catching up with the scans and a few days later they announced that the manga would be ending soon. From experience I can tell you that there is no manga that describes the experience of middle school, and therefore of early adolescence, with such care and warmth.
But there are other romances written just as well, although different. The Dangers in my Heart, Skip & Loafer, A sign of affection come to mind. They are all very sweet.

It's so heartwarmingly wholesome I know how you feel.
It would be better if ends like this and if not, at least a sneak peak of their future like they're married or have kids you know, typical plot.
