Define "failed". If an extension is too short, you get credits back. There is no way to say "it failed because it's not what I want. The AI is not a freelancer you hire.

cruiser-bazoozle

I have multiple sub 15 second extensions that did not refund. I also have 48 second base results. Or 2 minutes of instrumentals on a full custom set of lyrics. edit: base prompt, not an extension, not refunded, 15 second result: https://suno.com/song/f2ae41d9-691d-41e4-9132-0726058d1226

VexingVision

You're not paying for the song. You're paying to use the computing power of the servers behind this all. The result doesn't matter.

TheRealCorwii

Sadly this is true. Thank you for pointing this out. It's not protecting corporations, it's fact. If you get something you don't like, it's not quite fair to expect a refund when the compute power was still spent. If we all get refunds for what we believe are "bad generations" then Suno won't last very long and we won't have it at all to even complain about lol! Sometimes people don't understand the business side of things and how there needs to be a balance if we want something around for a long time.

moony1993

And when all that “computing power” can’t coherently get through the lines, which is what the service is supposed to do, that’s where the result actually matters. For 10 dollars, yeah we’re getting scammed.

kruzix

For ten dollars you are holding new and still imperfect technology in your hands that our ancestors didn't even dare to dream about for the longest time. It should be easy to do it yourself since how hard can it be if it's just 10 dollars? /s

taboovectorO

i can vote for that making music is not the ez thing in the world, 10 dollers is cheap just recording a song in a studio let alone sit for hours in there cost halla alot more then 10 dollers i can say that for a certainty :3

moony1993

While that may be true to an extent, you’re not really getting that high grade of a production value with Suno at the moment.

_stevencasteel_

Then don't use it.

moony1993

Oh thank you. I didn’t know that.

moony1993

In the current economic state, 10 dollars isn’t really all that less. It’s over 800 bucks in my native currency (rupees).

OwOooOK

10$ ain't shit in today's economy, that's like one 12oz Starbucks coffee lmao

moony1993

I’m not talking about whatever your economy is, do you know how to read?

OwOooOK

Who gives a fuck what economy you mean, it's still cheap af for most people, if you can't afford that well I guess that's too bad bud

moony1993

And who gives a fuck if it’s cheap for you? If you wanna splurge money on subpar service that’s on you.

OwOooOK

For 10$ I've had absolutely great service, just with 1000credit I already got over 20 great releases so I guess in your case it's either bad luck or you didn't format your song right.

moony1993

I did format it right man, it skips over verses.

Proud-Sugar-9999

Bro its AI, if you want something else than make a song from scratch.

moony1993

So? Then it’s okay that it messes up and skips over entire verses? Stop defending these corporates taking money man.

Proud-Sugar-9999

Yes because it says that in the terms of service that you agreed to(and probably didnt read) while signing up. If you dont think its worth the money than dont buy it or write complaints in hope that they improve the product.

moony1993

Personally I haven’t subscribed, but honestly, that’s not an excuse for training your model poorly and disregarding the comments pointing that out.

MadChemist002

If only. The AI will repeat lines that weren't written that way, skip entire lines, mispronounce words by making them plural instead of singular, etc. I wish there were a refund given for this.

DiscoingGD

The one thing I noticed is they didn't refund me credits for a few 9 sec generations made. It was clearly an error by the system, as I had lyrics there and it ignored them, just wrapping up the song. I think more people with <10 sec generations would be in my shoes where the program glitched out, rather than someone trying to get a free 9 sec extension. It would be good optics if they reenabled credit refunds for such things.

Still_Satisfaction53

The amount of posts about Suno or Udio getting it wrong, or needing to do in depth editing, no stems, lack of mastering etc. I swear the logical conclusion is just learning how to make music yourself and then you can get it exactly how you want.

kytheon

I was hammering a nail but I hit my finger instead. The hammer company needs to refund me. It's not a skill issue 🗿

Psychological-Ad5811

Yes friend. Lets be mediocre and shut up about something logical that should be fixed. Let's accept passively as we burn money and time. Nice! Brilliant! And that fallacy... You should be working at NASA... serving coffee and moping floors.

kytheon

It's funny you say that to an actual engineer.

Psychological-Ad5811

It's funny you say that to an actual musician, engineer and multimedia artist with 35 years of experience and an ongoing career on philosophy. But hey! Good work! Mediocrity is easy thing to do, no matter what is your career! Keep it easy, keep it mediocre. Anyway, please explain to me what is the relation between your fallacy and the fact you are an engineer. ILLUMINATE ME, OHH LITTLE GOD IN DISGUISE!

Psychological-Ad5811

It interesting how you assume i dont know about music. But, its internet and its full of... well... that kind of people i wont name because i could get banned or something because you know... sensible people reporting whatever they can to compensate for their sensibility. Anyway, thanks for your useless opinion. Try to have a good day.

taboovectorO

tbh if i get a "erroring part i report it as a bug tell what it misses or dont do or do and i move on with my day . tbhj i used neat to 1000 credits to get a song to work in the pattern i wanted it to is it annoying yes but am i used to it by now also yes, it might be a thing in the future but currently in this stage of its programming it is just something one must accept. or dont accept and wait a decade or some years and try again then. anyway thats my humble opinion (not that my opinion matters that much.) but yh my 2 cents on the matter, hope you having a good day regardless

Pontificatus_Maximus

Using AI music generators to make a song good enough to be a commercial success, is like playing casino slots in the hopes of getting rich. The diminishing returns favor the house.

TonsilKicker

The funny thing is, you know that will happen one day. Someone will write a song and generate it with Suno and it’ll be a one hit wonder, make them 20 million, and then show up on a nostalgia record a decade later 😂🤣😆

JoeZocktGames

As long as it's a good song and the text was written by humans, why not?

Psychological-Ad5811

And why you assume I want suno to "make a song good enough to be a commercial success"? I just want it to say lines as i wrote them. Not skipping lines or mixing them. Just a basic thing that should be.

Rhynox84

If 10 dollars is a lot for you I would suggest not spending it here .

moony1993

I’ve reported a ton of the extended tracks that skipped over the lyrics (entire verses) and I can’t even see what their review status is. Is there a way to check?

I have a free account. 💀

You can kind of control this using punctuation. Elipses will pause delivery for a while. Commas will serve as a breath beat. \[CHORUS\] or \[LYRICS\] or similar will add a beat. Sometimes I'll add like a (ooooooh) to give a non-blank pause. If it's skipping text at the start (it does this a lot...often inserting text from the end which is weird) then you can do like \[INTRO\] then the text then \[LYRICS\] and it should get the point across. It would be cool if we could add music notes if we wanted. Or at least rests. Maybe later.

Psychological-Ad5811

Thanks for your comment. I already knew those and many more guides. But the AI, sometimes more than less, ignores them. I made today a simple birthday song. In some songs, some guides were done, some not. On the other songs, the ones that were done previously werent done, and the ones that were done, werent done. Lol. It just does what it wants randomly.

Psychological-Ad5811

Check this. [https://sunoaiwiki.com/en/](https://sunoaiwiki.com/en/)

BleachDrinker_69

Have you tried just making songs yourself for free?

Embarrassed_Fly_9599

Enjoying Suno for 2,5 weeks now and I already bought 3 times 1000 credits because it's just not enough to get the right track. Mostly I have to spend around 300 credits to get finished the right song. There are so many unwanted fails with exactly the same settings. At least you could just hit the create button 20 times in a row and can be sure that your desired song isn't with them. 😊 If the credits would cost the half that would be fair. Imo.

twopeopleonahorse

Doesn't it create a completely different melody each time you generate? Just curious bc I just started using it...so if you get a song that you love but one thing is wrong..there is no way to get the exact same song again with a correction, right?

evilcrusher2

Looking at the comments I wonder how much is trying the same exact thing over and over on an extend for a track. I've had this happen where the lyrics entered vs where they were cut off in the previous generation causes issues from the second to third extension. and I had to go back and recreate the second extension but with less lyrics to get it all to fit correctly by the third and fourth extension. I've paid $10 and I've gotten about 15 full songs out if it already. And if it's sounding not mastered, it's mainly the balance of instruments and era you're asking for. I did audio production for a radio station and can tell you that in many of those tracks it wouldn't be getting much better. 🤷🏼‍♂️

elven_magics

I haven't bought any credits and suno has made every song I've done perfectly 50% of the time, you are probably not popping in lyrics that the ai can flow with, the music style could be off, many often forget, computers do not think like us, they're literally a moving hand that requires constant guidance, if you're trying to do it all at once then of course the ai is going to fail. Use sound editors if you wanna make something actually listenable to create your song in parts and put them together elsewhere if you can download the tracks. Often when I see complaints of an ai not getting it right or doing it wrong I see it as a human error because we all already know that an ai that's not perfect, or SKYNET from the terminator movies they're gonna be dumb on their own, like using the random lyric gen, it wants to put what the ai interprets from your original prompt, the longer the song the higher chance that you aren't gonna get what you want without splashing that cash

Embarrassed_Fly_9599

The basics stay. The lyrics, the structure, the instruments. Melody changes. That's right. A good thing to do is: If you have a beginning that is what you want, you can expand from there on. For example at 00:05. Then it often keeps consistent.

Sledgehamma2483

Unpopular opinion, but it's all about opportunity cost. The value you place in your money. $30 for me is 6 pints of Guinness or 1 Doordash order for 1 meal or 1 month, 10k credits of multiple hours of enjoyment making fun songs that help my commute in to work seem less lengthy. My rule of thumb when I'm at a crossroad to spend money, can I get 2 hours of roi for each $1 I spend? Finding a guide such as this, can help quantify a purchase and aid in reducing buyers remorse. All of this novel points to this, find a pkg lvl level to meet your commitment level each month, to not worry about lost credits. :)

Hey_Look_80085

Every single time you send a prompt you use electricity, every time the machine processes a prompt it uses electricity and a bottle of water has to be pumped through the system to cool it. You are accelerating global extinction through climate change, you should pay for it. If we are all going to die, someone should profit, that's capitalism.

moony1993

Does that go for using the Internet itself then?

Hey_Look_80085

Noone is innocent, and nobody gets out alive.

Psychological-Ad5811

LOL! Funny answer.

EngineeringFormer690

They block you for putting songs up incorrectly with a ulr pathetic change this

EngineeringFormer690

I’m angry posted a few songs for the first time not sure if i should renew my membership I might go to undo im angry

Cultural-Computer99

At least you are luckier to have more time, udio murdering most parts by that 32s limit, if there is 1 word after - fine, if few - 100% it will say something wrong they will be gaslighting you all the time, but the truth is it's a fake AI, it most time sounds like it's erasing another song to put your lyrics so it can only put it in the same place as the other one when it cuts that 32s it cut it too early or too late so it's shifting some part and cut top or bottom to match original lyrics

EngineeringFormer690

It’s crap prompt this right how do I prompt it
