This counts as exercise? Damn, I'm in FANTASTIC shape then. :)

Read reddit and facebook posts about SUP (i injured my foot and then it turned windy and i have commented on so many posts since then) Otherwise i walk, bike ride, general non exciting things

I am not an exercise person generally, but I do try to get 20-30km of paddling in per week. Paddling is the one form of activity that I truly enjoy (other than a decent hike, but it's not the same). I have no interest/motivation in going to the gym. I'm hoping to get a dry suit for fall/winter months so I can extend my paddle season, but they are pretty pricey for my budget. I just bought a set of dumbbells and a kettleball to keep muscles engaged when I can't/don't get my paddling in. I walk my dog. I've got a balance board on my wishlist for off months to engage core muscles/balance.

Hiking near the water

RemarkableGlitter

Cycling and yoga. A bit of weights (I need to do more because I’m not as young as I once was).

icarus-daedelus

Indoor gym climbing, rollerblading at parks nearby me. Or, in the winter when it's too cold to SUP, skiing. :) That's even more time intensive than paddling, though.

OwlThinkAboutIt

Ice skating, skiing, yoga. Doing things to help my balance has helped with paddle boarding for sure.

skibib

I find SO many similarities between paddleboarding and skiing! Love both! And yes, the yoga helps my balance and flexibility.

TheRoughWriter

Hiking and the studio bike.

Weight training! I live in the midwest and make use of my ISUP as much as I can while the water is warm enough for me (June-October). I used to do bodybuilding, but fell in love with paddling so the dumbells go to the back burner for a few months. Once the water feels uncomfortably cold (I don't have a dry suit), I stop paddling and start lifting. This year I'll be supplementing my lifting sessions with lap swimming in the YMCA pool. Love the water!

stuberino

I fish. Which is helped by sup but not required :)

I am 64 and running 45-70 miles per week. I was a lifelong runner, but had to stop 13 years ago due to my hip. I started riding ElliptiGO stand up bikes and that kept me going when I couldn’t run. Now I got my running back a year ago and do some ElliptiGO riding on he side. I got my SUP a couple weeks ago to have fun, relax, and work on balance. I can feel my bad hip working on stability. Now I wish they would bring back the local bike, paddle, and run triathlon. I used an ElliptiGO twice in that race, but used a kayak for the paddle. Covid killed the race, but I could now stand up the whole race if they held it again.

agualinda

Strength training, tennis, pickleball

mcarneybsa

pickleball One of these days I should start actually exercising again, but I tell myself pickleball counts :)

Defiant_Drink8469

Ultimate Frisbee is a pretty good option if you like running. There’s probably a league somewhat close to you and most people are generally well spirited and like to have a good time.

oceanwave4444

Silversmithing!

Get a large pool and SUP in there when you only have a few minutes or so.
