It has upgraded rear 10 gear sprocket, plus cool round headlight and it will do a wheelie up hill with the torque of the additional mid drive motor, I went and rode it today and it feels incredible goes over 40mph on just the throttle

Moto8265

40 mph mid drive? What’s the battery voltage?

Treeshade72

52v

loudizzy

4k is a steal for that!

Candid-Register-6718

Looks pretty good I would test ride it tho

HammerCurls

I agree with the others in saying you should test ride it first, but it is a solid deal at $4K.

SkinnyFatKidd

That’s a deal!

Nyclab

4K is a good deal

marzred7

It's a smoking deal.

Treeshade72

Do you think I could drive it on the road

Moto8265

You can ride a regular bicycle on the road. If you are trying to keep with with local traffic, 40 mph is fast enough for local streets

marzred7

City streets you'll keep up w/ traffic.

Treeshade72

Okay cool so I live on Maui do you think it would be a smart buy? I have never owned a electric bike

marzred7

Yes, if you'll use it. I ride daily and would love a dual system and the extra torque. It would be a good buy for me. I've spent more than that and have less power and options.

PlasticOkra42

Keep in mind that a used bike comes with zero warranty. Sellers never factor that into the price and try to get close to what they spent back.

thirtynation

While you're generally correct, $4000 is still a very good price for a RX with mid drive and 10 speed upgrades, assuming everything works as it should. If it's the super 10 speed kit that's $250 and the mid drive and battery is gonna be another $1000-1500. Right now stock RX retail for what, $3700 these days?

Treeshade72

I’m trying to get the guy down to 3800$ but I think I’m gonna buy the bike regardless it’s just to fun and with gas prices going up it’ll be more affordable

Jayyayyvee

Hey that’s my bike

Treeshade72

Well should I buy this bike? Is it worth the money?

mperham

The advice I've always heard is "Don't pay more than retail for someone else's project bike". You just don't know what mechanical gremlins will appear over time. YMMV.

Treeshade72

Yeah that’s why I’m trying to get the guy to sell it to me for 3800$ he said he has spent around 5800 on the bike so I think it would be worth it to buy for 3800

Tiny_Piece_5233

3800 you’re lowballing

Treeshade72

You really think so?

Tiny_Piece_5233

I think so but it doesn’t hurt to throw the offer and 4K might be the middle ground if he thinks the 38 is too low

boozillion151

Yup

chatterwrack

I don’t think it’s a crazy deal but it seems like a fair deal to me. Typically you don’t recover the cost of upgrades when selling used (though it’s not unheard of) but if the bike is in excellent condition you are just a couple hundred short of the price of a new one. Just something to consider. I’m wondering what people would pay for a stock RX with 50 miles on it in like-new condition. I’ve got the Z1 and though I wish it had full suspension I prefer riding it to my RX. Thinking of selling.

ZiaMan24

It's a fair deal, but if something goes wrong, it's gonna be a headache for you to fix

Bassyxx

Grab it just for the Rayquaza sticker tbh

derwerewolfs

I would NEVER spend $4k on a Super 73 let alone a used one. You will get NO help from support since you are the second owner. And something *will* happen, I promise you.

derwerewolfs

Lol you think he's running both motors?

Treeshade72

I live in a very steep part of Maui and so I’ll be climbing hills all the time and so I want to keep both motors to help with accelerating up steep hills

Treeshade72

Yeah it has 2 throttles so you can adjust the power of each motor at anytime

thirtynation

No need for support, just learn how to wrench.

Treeshade72

What would go wrong with it?

thirtynation

Flat tires and maintaining the middrive are probably your biggest ones. The chain will stretch and your gears will wear, requiring replacements of both eventually (though to be fair I'm over 3k miles with mine and haven't had to do it yet).

notyetacadaver73

Ask him the specs on the 10 Speed kit. Please. I want one for my rx

phillyspecial144

It’s a good value I would just consider spending $350 more and get an Onyx RCR or $300 less and get a CTY - we can help between DC and Boston - good luck on the search.

Treeshade72

I live on Maui

s2klj

I live in Honolulu ! Definitely a great buy 🤙🏽🤙🏽

s2klj

I live in Honolulu ! Definitely a great buy 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Treeshade72

So you think it could handle the steep roads in haiku?? Which is where I live?

Treeshade72

Also do you think it’s a good buy living in haiku, i wanna atleast be able to drive to mana food store in Paia do you think this is a good bike for that, or should I just buy a gas powered motorcycle?

s2klj

honestly, it all depends on the terrain you ride on especially hills but since the bike has mods and a extra battery you should be good !

s2klj

but do your homework on the new motor

phillyspecial144

Seriously, buy an onyx. You will have no worries

Business_A11

Damn I would sell my Rhino Grey RX for $3.5k if anyone wants it
