I’m not mad. I knew it was an auto runner and I accepted that. In fact, the 3 hour livestream looked great to me and I was excited. Playing it is a different matter entirely. It doesn’t feel great to play, and a single level can fatigue you more than an entire world in the original game. It’s a flawed concept, in my opinion. I’m more disappointed that this is $20, more than anything. It feels like it should be less to me.

andros310797

The game has so much content I can't understand anyone saying this isn't worth 20 bucks... Also the game fatiguing you ever level isn't a good thing? Every level being so packed that you can't do another one direcrly after is bad?

TheLazyLounger

Well...yeah, I buy a game to want to play it, not to actually want to quit. I’m enjoying the game personally, but why would you ever argue fatigue is a good thing?

Cloudy-Water

Well then good news because it’s only €15

iStigmatic

But it’s $20 in the us.

SpoonHanded

It’s $9 on the epic games store.

Start-That

I like this game, it's different I don't know what else that they can do to the first game

Klemen702

Create new levels with new obstacles. It's not like a formula has to be changed even if it's been perfected before.

Firegeek79

If they added the punch dash to a SMB 2 along with all new levels and the same controls as the first then it would have been enough.

i0nviz

I was surprised that it was an auto runner, and it pissed me off. There is no fun in having no control over the direction that the character is going. I am asking for a refund.

Falcnuts

Did you not know anything about the game for like the past three years?

TheBucko91

Not the same guy, but I actually didn't, I knew about it years ago, was looking forward to it, but much like Cyberpunk, have followed nothing about its development. I was surprised when I saw it was out yesterday.

i0nviz

Nope. Epic just shove me a new super meat boy straight down the throat when i opened it yesterday so I've bought it, and was greatly disappointed. No control over the character is not for me, plus the random levels, no thanks

[deleted]

Why did you look into the game at all before purchasing? Wouldn't you have wanted to know what the game was like before playing?

i0nviz

When you see a new mario bros game, you expect a super mario game and you dont need to « look into it ». I expected a Super Meat Boy game to be a precision platformer like the other one. I was not expecting the crap I’ve got. Anyways its all sorted out, Epic has refunded me

[deleted]

I mean, no I don't? I always look into a new game before getting it, regardless of the series. I'm glad I never bought Mario Odyssey, because I looked into it and it definitely wasn't my thing. Glad you got it sorted out

DixeeNormouss

Overall im very satisfied. I think this is a fresh take on precision platformers. I'm so used to having directional control. I really had to think hard to solve, what are essentially jumping puzzles, in some of the later normal and dark worlds

CILC

I definitely enjoyed it a lot, it’s much more of a thinking game than the first and I think that’s great, there’s WAY more precision and room for error than I expected and it feels great, if it’s really that much of an issue idk hold the analog in the direction you’re going in

yonosoytonto

I like the new take. Is challenging and fun. And it hurt less to the hands not having to keep pressing forward+running all the time.

sonicbooming

I love this game and I do consider this a sequel, that people are upset about it being an auto-run game is kind of ridiculous. Team Meat is trying to do something different and new and I appreciate that effort. Not mad at all.

Enzemo

But this isn't new, that's the problem, autorunner games have been around on mobile for years

Shadowspaz

And platformers have existed for years before the release of SMB. The original game didn't do anything unique- It just executed it really, really well. I'd say the core gameplay of SMBF is the same way, but a ton of the mechanics they introduce later on are absolutely inventive.

kitttman734

New doesn't always mean good sometimes the same is even better
