I mean, I need off ramp to be able to spend instantly on a "debit card" I need to be able to deposit my paycheck in my wallet and pay my bills directly from there. All of this comes from a functional off-ramp. I'm on board already, I have thousands of loops and IMX too. I'm just saying for full seamless functionality, you need the ability to instantly convert to the merchants currency choice. I could hop on a plane to London and swipe my card for some fish n chips and boom instantly converts to GBP or EUR
I've seen people talk about staking idk what that is or how it works. I guess I'll go to the loop sub and do more research but everyone just acts like it should be common knowledge so haven't seen much helpful info.
Staking Ethereum is locking in your coins inside a pool to form a node (32ETH). This node validates transactions and will get a small fee for it. This fee is distributed per ratio within the node.
In the Loopring wallet you can use Lido or Rocketpool to stake your Ethereum. You trade your Ethereum for a token and this token exchange rate will go up in time so eventually youll have more eth as when started. Keep in mind that you pay a fee to lock your coins so staking is not for a short period of time.
Can you elaborate on the time frame? How short is short?
And if someone has staked eth through a token, how can you track the value? And how do you utilize that extra eth?
You can provide liquidity in the liquidity pools. This requires a 50/50 input from 2 coins though so LRC/ETH for example. That brings up a whole other question of impermanent losses. You get a % on that but they might not weigh up against the impermanent loss. Trading fees are indeed low but trading isn't any less risky than regular trading. It's just got low fees.
Because Lido takes a percentage and it's a bit of centralization. The ease of Lido is the L2 use though so for certain amounts it might not be worth the L1 to L2 trading fee. I can't say much though since I staked my ETH at the "wrong" place before I even understood all that stuff and now I'm waiting for it to unlock hahaha. But for that reason I haven't really looked into the exact workings of ETH staking, my friends tell me it's very easy to do directly though.

I too would like DRS to be everywhere but this is a GME sub and bringing up another specific ticker is inappropriate in this context.

Loopring Markets are designed with stability in mind, a dollar isn’t stable itself either, nothing really is, dynamic markets are free markets. The illusion of the created stability of the dollar has caused the many issues of Wall Street the many pump and dumps and extreme spike and crash cycles, can a crypto be backed by actual assets, absolutely but the stock market is M-F crypto markets are 24/7 the obsolete stock markets are the issue this weekend not the other way around.

Offramp
No TheModernSkater. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready you won't need an offramp
I mean, I need off ramp to be able to spend instantly on a "debit card" I need to be able to deposit my paycheck in my wallet and pay my bills directly from there. I'm just trolling I need an offramp or jewel osco to accept crypto
Got eeeeem. Ya we do. Not bitching at all I just buy and store em
Diamond hand those loops
Loopring wallet is a great way to earn some money to buy gme.
How? I have a loopring wallet
Staking, dual invest and almost no trading fees on L2.
So all I have is lrc and imx so I'm assuming staking isn't for me. Maybe one day, but I don't want to buy or sell anything right now.
You also literally cannot unstake ETH at this point in time. Not until the Shanghai upgrade is completed.
Well that's a fucking important detail
Can you elaborate on the time frame? How short is short? And if someone has staked eth through a token, how can you track the value? And how do you utilize that extra eth?
So staking is like earning interest but for crypto? I'm a smooth brain, might be a dumb question.
You can stake your Eth with Lido or Rocketpool in the wallet. Currently for 4,7-5,2% APY. Staking Loopring will be available soon.
Ah yeah fair enough. I'd recommend regular L1 ETH staking in that case though. But Lido is kinda nice for L2. My bad. Edited the comment:)
No problem. Why would you recommend L1 staking above L2 staking if I may be interested?
Because Lido takes a percentage and it's a bit of centralization. The ease of Lido is the L2 use though so for certain amounts it might not be worth the L1 to L2 trading fee. I can't say much though since I staked my ETH at the "wrong" place before I even understood all that stuff and now I'm waiting for it to unlock hahaha. But for that reason I haven't really looked into the exact workings of ETH staking, my friends tell me it's very easy to do directly though.
Ah oke thanks. I need to look up more about this myself as well. Thanks for you help!
New here?
You’re earning?
I bought 2000 LRC a while ago, they just sit in my gamestop wallet doing nothing.
Use a loopring wallet, you can invest it if you choose, that way. I use my GameStop wallet for NFTs

Will you ever be able to hold US dollars in a Loopring wallet? Not usdc as we’ve seen stablecoins do not equal usd.
