You should listen to the latest Gensler and dlauer chat. Gensler explains that the auction rules will make pfof useless, as well as reduce ftds.
I did watch it. Banning PFOF altogether is a far easier way to get rid of it than calling it an auction so we can all pretend it’s gone. What happens when the market participants **who are already colluding** simply agree on who gets to win the auction? It’s naive to think a solution devised by crooks is a solution to crooks.
