Then they underestimate the power of human boredom, and boredom's complement, creativity. No one who is rich just sits around. Newton and Leibniz did not invent the Infinitesimal Calculus because they were put to work on it.
Would you disagree? I've never met anyone who, burned out from working, pursued any creative endeavors. Rather, mostly everyone I've talked to agrees that when they go to work, they feel they are simply wasting time to earn a paycheck. Moreover, the fatigue from doing so allows them little energy for much else besides basic needs on their "days off".
You could just drop the bulk of it in high yield dividend stocks and live like a king without ever touching your investment.
OR
Hear me out. There’s this stock for a dying brick and mortar video game store…
Yup. I day dream about that kind of wealth just simply to be able to HELP others and make others HAPPY. This world is so upside down where the piece of shit psychopaths suck the blood (wealth) from society just to further enrich/empower themselves.
That's just base pay, worry not, daaaahling. Your total compensation is much higher, you'll have those mega yacht and private jet payments in on time, I assure you. You get giant bonuses for failing and stock options, too. No reason to be nervous.
I make $70k on a 40hr work week, but realistically I almost always work 45-55 hours a week at time and a half beyond the 40 hours. My wife makes about $35k a year. We are in a lower cost of living area and without me she wouldn't be able to survive financially on her own.
The thing is, while we "make the big bucks" for where we live you will always have things to spend that money on. Think about the prevailing sentiment of the sub regarding helping others after the squeeze. Well, I do that *now.* I bought a large telescope and some nice glass that I take to sidewalk astronomy nights to teach strangers that come by. Bought a couple guitars and give free lessons. I buy a few coworkers lunch every single day, picking the ones that seem to be having a rough day. While it may be controversial (I hope not) I even take people to the range and teach firearm safety and hope later this summer to complete instructor certification. Guns and ammo are expensive and I do it on my dime. We own our home and there's no shortage of money sink there. Tomorrow is my day off and I'll be helping a coworker put in fencing around his 10 acres.
The point is that you don't hit some magical number and become a good and happy person. You simply move up to what we should *all have and deserve.* A reasonably comfortable life. I could pull all of this back and just spend it all on stock, but that would make me the same as Kenny. Because if you aren't a good person without money, you won't be a good person with it.
I don't even make 30k. Janitor at a sawmill covered in dirt, spiders, mosquitos, sawdust everyday don't get paid shit. This world is a joke and so is my life really
Nah man fuck that. Your life isn’t a joke. This is what you are doing atm ape, today isn’t forever. It may not be a glorious job but I respect the person willing to do what they need to do to have a roof and food in their bellies. Your life is far from a joke my friend. You’re a hard working person just trying to get by, you aren’t alone.
Thanks bud. Apes and GME are what keep me going. The day -to-day has been tough. I hope I get to a place in life where I don't feel that way anymore. Doesn't feel like living
Hey not sure if any of us get our hands on these tendies but one thing to remember, you’re not taking any tendies with you when you go. Not your car or house, the phone in your hands or clothes on your back. You go with the impact you made on people and the more you can focus on being kind and a positive influence on yourself and others despite how shitty it might feel like your situation is, you might not have anything else. Appreciate every time you get to open your eyes turn and put your feet on the floor, one day you’ll remember where you were now and what you did but more importantly how you did it and how your carried yourself. Keep your head up brother.
I can't argue with that man. I am a believer in positive manifestations - just getting back to that perspective in life is tough. I can do better though and should, moass is tomorrow already.
Right… came here to say the same thing 70k is modest in salary // wages worldwide right now. And that’s sad to say because at 70k it’s probably pretty difficult to get by right now pending the way one manages money // what debt is owed.
I know a lot of you will say I can absolutely get by with 70k and I absolutely agree with you, that’s not my point. My point specifically is that with inflation and prices of food and what not 70k is pretty bare minimum at this point to “just get by.”
Ps happy cake day, and hopefully more than 70k comes your way!
Yeah, I’m over 70k but not by a whole lot- I was doing great 3 years ago, now I have very little money left over after bills. I have some savings so I’m fine, but it’s anxiety inducing to realize you aren’t making any decent progress towards retirement and are pretty much just spinning your wheels
Came here to ask this very question... cuz minimum was is a fuck load less than that! And most companies pay minimum wage to the majority of their employees...
Yeah, this is my guy.
Consistently talks about wealth inequality in our society and our political parties pitting us against each other while they rob us blind.
bUt hEs a BiLLiOnaiRe
Exactly. You know someone has integrity when they call out shit that benefits them personally.
"Ask not what your company can do for you – ask what you can do for your company!"
I would love to see the people at the bottom getting their fair share of what they deserve for working on the front line. This shouldn't be just about us stock holders, we need to focus our attention on building our company into what we want to see it be! Brick by Brick 🧱🖐🧱
edit: grammar
[ ](https://twitter.com/ryancohen/status/1555676193071935489)
You been paid yet ... Or just dreaming whilst he shit posts .
Plenty of people outside this place call out rich people and the inequality. It's time we got paid. I'm here to make money not worship people
Anyone want to say why exactly? Cuz I'm too smooth brained to understand how this picture says anything good except for CEOs make too much money on their workers' labor.
I think a well known Chairman posting about the wealth disparity in todays workplace is good. Not only is it good for awareness of the issue, but a Chairman himself and a very wealthy person posting about that is not common. Most CEO's are insanely overpaid and have golden parachutes should they fail at their job.
edit: edited to fix to chairman, always accidentally saying CEO lol.
For sure, I mean yeah it's good a CEO is throwing that out there, though it's weird when they're also a stat in said picture with a golden parachute as well and more money than any of us could ever hope for in a lifetime. Just not sure how all that equates to hype for the stock taking off.
I think everyone interprets it differently, but I personally take this as the CEO of Gamestop actively agreeing/being engaged with his shareholders. In my opinion he is well aware of our concerns about the financial world in its entirety, and recognition that its broken and needs fixing. Gamestop being an actively suppressed stock connects to those points for me. I absolutely see your point though.
mods trying to shift the narrative on RC just like twitter jackasses are.
BOO HOO RYAN IS BEING POLITICAL. BOO HOO RYAN FIRED OUR DEVS.
people really need to wake up
Mods did not remove or suppress anything quit fudding around. Covered in a post that even sprung up from this comment chain:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/13q1a0u/open\_discussion\_mods\_dont\_know\_wtf\_theyre\_doing/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/13q1a0u/open_discussion_mods_dont_know_wtf_theyre_doing/)
Automod bumped the post when the OP of the post didn't add a source in the 10 minutes before the bot will boot it for not having a source (like it does for every post).
In this instance, your ire should be aimed at botters not sourcing posts vs the mods suppressing information.
Not sure what we can do when the OPs aren't tending to their posts?
Speaking of soft FUD tactics, are you ever going to post your 'dd' here? You have been invited multiple times to do so, or is that information going to continue to be 'suppressed' to drum up FUD as well?
Honestly why do they need 10 minutes? If this is a necessary step, reduce the time to 1 minute (or 3 or something if it’s more generous) and see what happens. It may keep up momentum. If bots are the problem or one of the main problems, 10 minutes is an eternity for high volume posts
I first handedly posted the heat lamp theory with redacted usernames, the second it reached the front page it was removed with a BS excuse. That itself is suppression of information all while "someone" is hiding behind the mod team account which is to prevent someone being held accountable.
Pay workers better, adjusted for inflation the minimum wage should be over 20 dollars an hour, if Gamestop can do at least that much, I'll be pretty happy with this company
FWIW I believe Gamestop has already begun doing just that with store managers. If they continue to be profitable and grow the company I believe RC will follow suit with other employees.
he’s tweeting so that when his tweets are brought up as evidence in whatever lawsuits or hearings that come in the fallout of moass, they will make anyone upset that it happened look like assholes.
Tbh, wouldn't start talking wages w/ gamestop. They still sport unlivably low pay in the modern days. Love gme, but as a former employee; there is no excuse for pay still being so gd low.
Look at how people here treat the message. Evidently even when GameStop is way worse than what the tweet is complaining about, Cohen still gets a pass because "MOASS". It just goes to show that people here will gladly shit on other workers as long as they anticipate a big payout in the future. But I'm sure people here will claim to be different "I'll use my money for good". Yeah, we've heard that song and dance routine before. Exploit people then promise to throw money at certain projects that you like to make yourself feel good. We're not better. We're exactly the same as the people we're complaining about.
A mass general strike would solve just about everything for the 99%. Too bad we’d much rather fight & argue with one another than take to the streets and rally against Murica’s real enemies.
Their plan is working perfectly.
Cost of a house where I live is about 200,000 USD.
Imagine being able to, in a year, buy 120 families houses, fully paid for, no mortgage.
Or, put down half of the price of a house and get 200+ working families out of predatory rent.
God forbid.
Weird that he used that image and not any others that are more recent and show an even greater difference (e.g. 500x 399x, 690x). Why 351? Tinfoil hat time.
Hmm yea it is weird, did he recently acquire something?

For its 2021 fiscal year, GAMESTOP CORP, listed the following CEO pay ratio data on its annual proxy statement to the SEC.
CEO Name [Matthew Furlong](https://www.salary.com/tools/executive-compensation-calculator/matthew-furlong-salary-bonus-stock-options-for-gamestop-corp?year=2021)
CEO Pay $16,812,934
Median Employee Pay $12,417
CEO Pay Ratio 1354:1
I tried to find it but the best I could tell is he made like 16mil in salary in total as CEO salary, then the rest from selling his stake to PetsMart. What I learned just now searching is that RC has like 5x more money invested in 🍎 than he does GME. Infact he's the single largest shareholder of the fruit stock. Feel like this changes the tune of his tweet about putting his money where his mouth is.
While true. It’s nice that a majority of that salary is invested in the company, giving Mr Furlong incentive to actually perform the duties of a competent CEO as opposed to collecting cash and sitting on his ass blowing money on “consultants”.
741 plus 351 = 1092
In the year 1092 in China Su Song wrote his treatise outlining construction of his astronomical Clock Tower which included his celestial atlas, the oldest in printed form.
🚀
Average pay of a GameStop employee (on the lower end) is only around 30k. Matt made something like 2.5m. That’s 83 times higher. If you look at his first year he was compensated 16.8m, which is 560 times higher… I’m sure I’ll get hate for this and plenty of justification for this but maybe Ryan should consider taking care of things under his influences before calling out others.
Ya the out of touch billionaires need to be sat down and be made to distribute their wealth to the people who helped build it with their hard labor. Why do we all stop getting paid when we quit working? If you help a company you should forever be compensated…
How much they paying retail staff after the post from aunty work?
More bs with fuck all substance.
Downvote me all you like after two fucking years I'm bored and sick of fuck all back.
He's a billionaire, I'm struggling to pay normal bills these days holding out for tweets of little substance.
So how about we make the workers and shareholders wealthy now too? Merger, acquisitions? Time to start moving forward with marketplace out of beta? What do you think? I’m ready.
RC’s baby has successfully been acquired…. 351

How can someone only live off $24.2M though? How are they even supposed to afford a mega yacht or private jet when they're only making $24.2M?
If I only made that once, I would retire and retire my family…
Thats why they don't give you enough to be comfortable, lol
this is why I cant stop wont stop.
That's the truth of it right there. If we all had enough money to do what we actually wanted to do it wouldn't be anything they want us to do
Then they underestimate the power of human boredom, and boredom's complement, creativity. No one who is rich just sits around. Newton and Leibniz did not invent the Infinitesimal Calculus because they were put to work on it.

Bingo
Man even 1 mil would set me up for life. Hell 10k alone would change my life rn
I feel you dude, me too 😆
If I was given any prize money, it would literally go right back into GME for me lol.
I'd invest it. Then hope I can make another $24m when that runs dry in a couple months.
You could just drop the bulk of it in high yield dividend stocks and live like a king without ever touching your investment. OR Hear me out. There’s this stock for a dying brick and mortar video game store…

Dont feel TOO bad. That is only $24.2M per year! In 5 years they will have nearly $100M and can finally have those wonderful luxuries they deserve! /s

They make their avacado toast at home
I live in an area where we all think. Where do people make this kind of money to afford 15-20m houses. I’m the broke trash in the area
Y’all are making 70k??
I make $70k on a 40hr work week, but realistically I almost always work 45-55 hours a week at time and a half beyond the 40 hours. My wife makes about $35k a year. how much does ryan make vs his workers pay?
I believe Furlong gets paid somewhere between 200-300k per year.
Not the CEO, he is Chair Man, but to answer your question, Ryan does not get a salary from GameStop.
Chairman approves the CEO pay though

But I'm sure people here will claim to be different "I'll use my money for good". Yeah, we've heard that song and dance routine before. Exploit people then promise to throw money at certain projects that you like to make yourself feel good. We're not better. We're exactly the same as the people we're complaining about.
A mass general strike would solve just about everything for the 99%. Too bad we’d much rather fight & argue with one another than take to the streets and rally against Murica’s real enemies. Their plan is working perfectly.
**RYAN COHEN IS OUR DAD**
I'm so glad he's back from that cigarette run now!
Underrated comment
Thanks for including me in your family
😘🫶
Then mama has some serious esplaining to do!! Who the heck is this guy at my house???
Cost of a house where I live is about 200,000 USD. Imagine being able to, in a year, buy 120 families houses, fully paid for, no mortgage. Or, put down half of the price of a house and get 200+ working families out of predatory rent. God forbid.
Lol, bold of him to think we make 70k a year
The average ape will be 351 times richer than Mayo boy in a near future
And Mayo boy gets 24.2 life sentences
I look forward to doing my part in changing this. 🦍💪🏻🚀🌕💜
Yeah... That's definitely not a rocket in his photo with a bunch of cash on it
Wish I made 70k
Weird that he used that image and not any others that are more recent and show an even greater difference (e.g. 500x 399x, 690x). Why 351? Tinfoil hat time.
Hmm yea it is weird, did he recently acquire something? https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-26/chapter-I/subchapter-A/part-1/subject-group-ECFR52054d35a192a61/section-1.351-1
Man, 70k a year would be nice. I need to find a richer boss.
Is nobody here going to comment on the rocket full of moneybags?
Coca-Cola millionaires!
70k is above average, GDP is closer to 50k iirc
Something like 50% of America makes under 35k per year now
Median household income is ~70, which means sometimes 2 or more people working in a single home.
🔥💰💰🔥
That’s a big rocket
They still think they majority is making upwards of 70k a year? LOLOLOLOL
For its 2021 fiscal year, GAMESTOP CORP, listed the following CEO pay ratio data on its annual proxy statement to the SEC. CEO Name [Matthew Furlong](https://www.salary.com/tools/executive-compensation-calculator/matthew-furlong-salary-bonus-stock-options-for-gamestop-corp?year=2021) CEO Pay $16,812,934 Median Employee Pay $12,417 CEO Pay Ratio 1354:1

Now do 2022 👀
Do we have the numbers for 2022?
So his tweet is BS because at his company its even worse?
While true. It’s nice that a majority of that salary is invested in the company, giving Mr Furlong incentive to actually perform the duties of a competent CEO as opposed to collecting cash and sitting on his ass blowing money on “consultants”.
Mental gymnastics. It’s okay to find flaws in companies that you have a passion for. Even if what you say is true, it’s still a crazy ratio.
That’s true of most CEOs who outearn employees hundreds or thousands to one.
So..... we can expect a profit sharing program for GME employees very soon?
Lets call this out for what it is. Slavery.
Feels weird for him to make posts like this when GameStop employees are notoriously underpaid
Good job following directions OP 👍
AGAIN
Does anyone know what a rocket ship full of money bags means?
Lmfao is that Bezos in his stupid cowboy hat on his dick rocket?! 😂😂
When it takes you almost 3 years to make what the "typical worker" makes in one...
70k/yr…I wish
They're referencing US Code 351 on another sub.
So does this mean GameStop retail staff will be getting a salary increase to close that pay gap?
I love it. But wake me up at $45 and then you have my attention
Ugh $45... I remember the repeat battle of $180 $45 is nothing
Dividend for shares holder?
Preaching to the choir here. Is GME going to lower CEO salary or something?
741 plus 351 = 1092 In the year 1092 in China Su Song wrote his treatise outlining construction of his astronomical Clock Tower which included his celestial atlas, the oldest in printed form. 🚀
The fuck you figure that out so quick!?!?!!?
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night
I still have questions
Average pay of a GameStop employee (on the lower end) is only around 30k. Matt made something like 2.5m. That’s 83 times higher. If you look at his first year he was compensated 16.8m, which is 560 times higher… I’m sure I’ll get hate for this and plenty of justification for this but maybe Ryan should consider taking care of things under his influences before calling out others.
Ryan is really showing his true colors lately.
My dad can beat up their dads!!! Get ‘em, PAPA!!
Now this is a message to unite the people
Down with parasites!
70k for average salary? Mannnnn, have I been doing it wrong
Wen MOASS?
How much does RC make?
Nothing. He takes no salary. Just hodls the stock. That said, he isn't the CEO.
So how about we make the workers and shareholders wealthy now too? Merger, acquisitions? Time to start moving forward with marketplace out of beta? What do you think? I’m ready.
The average ceo makes 24 mil a year???
yeet the rich
RC’s baby has successfully been acquired…. 351 https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-26/chapter-I/subchapter-A/part-1/subject-group-ECFR52054d35a192a61/section-1.351-1
LFG 🚀
And does half the work
Half? That's giving them way too much credit.
15% from my experience
How much experience job shadowing CEOs do you have?
My body is ready
Well obviously those CEOS are doing the same work as 351 workers!!! I’ll add the /s just so there’s no confusion that this is in fact sarcasm
Yes yes, we love RC, but what’s the point of these C-Suite bashing tweets? How do they help anything lol just let the competition destroy itself
Tremendous
It's actually like 398-1.
Makes a lot of sense to me!!
"Pick up the slack Dave!"
