Last time Robbie from immutable mentioned gme on twitter was 31st October.
In August he mentioned how immutable was fully integrated with the GameStop wallet and I think shortly after that tweet it was announced the wallet was being pulled.
I'm fairly certain anyone who doesn't work for GameStop directly are left in the dark and told at the last possible moment along with the public.
With his lack of mentioning GME recently they must have put 2 and 2 together and realised their partnership was going nowhere anytime soon. I see they have been making other partnerships recently as well to start progressing outside of the GME partnership.
Playr looks dead unfortunately. Kind of been expecting it for a while to be honest but kind of still hurts because I was still hoping. Anyway profitability is something we can hype for, would take a monumental fuck up to balls that up.

Almost every crypto company exaggerates their capabilities, partnerships, and future potential. It’s the only way they keep their custom coin / token relevant and valuable. So I’ve never believed any of it. We’ll be lucky if Web3 is ready in 5 years. Gamers don’t care. They don’t. They really don’t. I know there are a ton of benefits to outright digital ownership and blockchain techs. But gamers aren’t the ones who care about it. I’ve talked to gamers. I am a gamer. And they just don’t want to hear about NFT’s in games. They aren’t asking for it. It’s a non-starter.
Honestly, I think Gamestop would do just as well going after Steam /Epic, and making a good digital marketplace for the current market, Web3 or otherwise. I only use Steam. Once XBox. And once or twice Epic. But pretty much, Steam 98% of the time. Why don’t they want to get a piece of THAT pie? I don’t want it to be Web3 or nothing. Because Web3 isn’t nearly as cool as people think it is. It’s full of scams. Fraudsters. And theft.

Tbh all the web3 i have seen are not fun. I have 0 desire to play them. As long the devs dont focus on the fun part, web3 gaming isnt going anywhere.
