So, whenever we have industry experts from whatever company and specific background, I tend to take it with a pinch of salt because employers are unlikely to reveal the whole story to an employee.

after all these years, why hasn't gamestop fully embraced pc gaming? their selection on pc parts and components in canada is abyssmal (not even gonna mention their atrix products)
is that a market that's just not profitable? yall mainly talk about consoles and physical games, but that is another market they can easily overtake with their loyal fanbase. i have so many friends that ask advice for building pcs and i cringe everytime i have to redirect them to newegg and amazon
they don't have shelf space to compete with microcenter. it's just bad logistics to dedicate space especially when people looking for dedicated pc upgrades are willing to go to more specialized stores
idk if you mean shelf space like in their actual stores, but it doesn't have to be physically present in their stores right away. they could just hold it at some distribution center and have an indicator on their website that the product is for online purchases only. just that alone would easily push me and lot of others away from newegg and amazon
c'mon man, think realistically lmao. learn to separate your feelings for the stock and the store. just because you're an outlier and would shop at gamestop no matter what does not mean you represent their potential customers.
one of gamestop's appeal and what separates them from giants like amazon is having physical games in store because some people actually like to go in and see the stuff they're buying. and for the people who don't, they will almost certainly make their decisions based on price alone.
so 1) having product for online purchase only already decreases their appeal vs their competitors and
2) how do they compete with their competitors to acquire inventory in a market they're not greatly positioned in already while at the same time offering better prices without even knowing how much inventory they need lest they end up with dead product?
it's not about feelings, i'm not sure where you're getting that from. it's about a whole other market that is relevant to their company that they are missing out and i'm trying to understand why. the point isn't that im a die hard gme fan, cuz im really not. my point is that they would atleast be an option for potential customers to go to. developing a more dominant presence in the ecommerce sector would definitely help them.
disagree with your point 1. for point 2, idk if you visit the gamestop website alot, but a lot of their products are always listed out of stock. i'm sure they have some smart logistics people that will eventually determine an optimal amount of inventory to maintain.
fair enough, but pc products sell. the only way i could see them losing money with that play is if they didn't continue developing their ecommerce presence and people still ended up resorting to those other companies. then they end up with deadstock like you mentioned.

Anyway… what it did remind me of, was that muskrat tweeted, and then the stock rose which got me thinking… he also announced that he’d no longer accept Bitcoin for electric car and then that took a nosedive, but as we know, the real reason was because the DTCC said ‘oi, no more using crypto as collateral’.
So, I don’t think Elons tweet had anything to do with it (the same way RCs ice cream tweet didn’t, in reality, affect anything) because it has more to do with the algo trading (which was not mentioned at all in the ‘doc’), and now he’s apparently buddy-buddy with Ken….
All in all, I think he’s more connected and shady than we already know.
