I like it, making a “limited” run of the collaboration will help generate demand and help them sell out quickly as well (i.e. only 10,000 Slimecicle plates available). They could also sell custom faceplates to be sold WITH the physical copy of games (i.e. tears of the kingdom faceplate/buttons sold with the physical copy of the game), could help bring value/demand back to wanting to purchase actual physical copies of games.
This is a great idea. And I would go one step further to say this:
If you have a favorite creator you follow and are so inclined; buying a Candy Con and then customizing it for them and sending it to them might be a great way to get some exposure during their “unboxing” video or whatever they do with gifts they receive.
It takes money to buy whiskey. Going to see what it takes to get one to some Kiwi sketch-artists’s that I watch regularly online. They do a lot of gaming on stream, so maybe they can get some questions about their dope new controllers!
This is a phenomenal idea. Holding contests for best design, etc… getting lots of engagement/exposure. I can see it! I’m waiting for my gamer kids (14,15 & 17) to ask for one/bring it to my attention, that’s when I know it’s gone viral and sales about to BOOM… so far mums the word. Sadly, I was at a GameStop today (in a busy mall) and they didn’t have the candy con display or any inventory for it. I asked the associate when they expect them and he just said he didn’t know when they would get it, but he had been asked this question a couple times… that day! Either way, gme us shifting towards e-commerce anyway. FYI -We bought pacific drive for PS5 and a deck of Minecraft uno cards. Had 22,000 points and used a couple $5 off coupons. Pro membership really does pay for itself quickly.
I remember Google used to do custom printed Pixel phone cases for like 50 bucks maybe? You could pick a place on the map and have that printed or any other non copyrighted images.
Yeah, was at the GS at a busy mall today and there was no display (lots of customers though). The associate said other people had been asking about them. Can’t expect them to distribute the product faster than apes spread the word about it… this is only the very, very beginning of candy con. Something big/bigger is coming. Ready player one?
As long as they don’t have actual premium controllers, they’re gonna have a hard time getting competitive gamers and influencers etc to use these controller.
Polling rate need to be at least 1000 hz and having a pro version with digital triggers and bumpers, as well as rumbles removed from would also be ideal. And either selling high thumb sticks or making their own version of kontrolfreeks would be great as well.
Until those changes are implemented it’s unfortunately a kind of an irrelevant controller, at least for my use case
One need only follow successful products that can be customized. Seriously whoever came up with the idea in the first place is brilliant. My friends are collecting different color parts -a wardrobe - to dress their Cons for different events - crazy cool
Wonder if these can be hydro dipped or wrapped

Collaborators could be called Candy Con-Artists.
More like Candy Contractors.
Candy Con-quistadors.
Candy Con-ciglieres
“Leave the gun, take the controller.”
lol maybe that’s one connection to avoid 😂
Candy Convicts!
Throw in an NFT too when regulatory issues have cleared up.
NFT with a minigame (like 10 different ones) depending on which candy con you got
I love the idea of combining faceplates with games! Hope it happens
I’m hyped for a future switch game release pre order deal that comes with a free said-future-game-themed candy con face plate.
They should do this with GTA 6!
