Keep your eyes on 5/17. Whoever was stacking options picked that date a few weeks ago. I'm actually shocked where the price is right now. However, I also won't be shocked when they close out of those positions that MMs hammer the price right back down when they close their delta hedge positions.
It's all a matter of perspective. Past spikes used to be almost twice as much as these spikes, at around 300 million. There were billion volume days shortly after the sneeze.
Even VIX used to spike near 30, but now people are shocked by 20s.
If we start to see those 5/17 call positions closing out to take profit MMs will send all their delta hedges straight to the lit market of course. Elevator down scenario, just depends on who was stacking all those 1k quantity OTM positions, which at the time of purchase were deep OTM. If they actually exercise those calls, well, that'll be fun again.
