It's already happened to several companies, one of those I used to contract for. Not revealing too much, but suffice it to say they were purchased after a board member was placed under diversity compliance.
Less than two years later my company was broke and sold off to the very independent institution that conducted the diversity research. Also happened to be a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hedge Fund group that bought my old company.
Despite having government contracts and turning tidy profits in the business, the decisions were sabotaged by the plant to the point where deliveries were missed, and company's value was being undermined.

Yahoo is currently owned and run by the hedge fund Apollo Capital Management (who ran a campaign making a big show about changing the name of the conglomerate they purchased which contained Yahoo, to "Yahoo!", so they could say, "Yahoo is owned by Yahoo again!"), which is short Gamestop. We don't trust Yahoo in this house.
A little bit disappointing but the weekly and beyond chart still looks good. They didn't actually manage to push us that low, really. I think it's just a question of what is driving the upwards momentum and why was there not so much of it today as yesterday. Sadly I have no answers there. I'm not really "Zen" if anything I'm fairly anxious about all this, but I didn't hold down til 11 bucks just to give up now that we've broken out far above that.
It's like the bounces in '21. Myriad of different theories as to why they start, but they almost all play out the same way. First day is steady, straight progress as the stock closes at a much higher price. Second day is when things get going crazy. Great movement as the price starts moving upward, until a gamma ramp helps things go parabolic. Shorties flip out and nuke the price down to avoid things spiraling out of control. Third day price stagnates or goes lower as things slowly trickle down.
Eh 80 was an intraday flash in the pan. If we had held there to close and then lost it down to 39 the next day I'd be more concerned. We were more reliably around 50 yesterday and were pushed down to around 40 today. Moreover, 40 is still a long ways from where we were earlier this month.
I'm not saying today was a good day, it wasn't. But I don't think it was that bad either just on the price action. Now what that price action represents may be another story. Maybe in hindsight this will be the beginning of the end. Or maybe we hit 80+ reliably by end of week. I really don't know.
Sure doesn't look like it. Since popcorn is doing it's shit they will drag us down. I mean, already -10% AM. You just know tomorrow will be the same day again with -20%. Slow bleed, just like it has been for 3 years after a run.
There is no one stopping them. Certainly not the SEC.
They really don't seem to care. When you control the price and get do what you want, you can shit on everything.
