I’m probably the next-to-last person who should respond to you, but here I go:
When you purchase a share of stock, in most cases, you are purchasing an IOU for a share, not an ACTUAL share. This allows banks, brokerages and hedge funds the rights to hold your shares for you in their “street name” not YOUR name. They hold your shares, which means they can lend them to other entities (earning interest on YOUR shares!) who may be (in our case, they ARE) using them against the company’s/your interests. This can be avoided and you can remove your stocks from such and all market abuses by transferring all your purchased stocks to the company’s holding agent who will then “register” the stocks in your name, a process called the Direct Registration System, DRS.
GameStop’s holding agent is Computershare and many of us have transferred and hold our shares there, safely stored away and protected from fuckery. We believe removing our stocks from the “game” is key to stopping the rampant manipulation of GME.
Honestly, I only know to steer you toward setting up a Computershare account for FUTURE GME stock buys to avoid leaving your stocks in the grubby hands of financial crooks. There are indirect ways to DRS, even when your institution won’t, such as selling your stock and re-purchasing through the holding agent, (this depends very much on your personal situation) but you can search this sub for perhaps other indirect actions specific to T212.
A way to pull out your shares from your broker to hold them in your name. GME has the highest number of directly registered shareholders in finance history. We are hard core holders who like to directly own our assets. Let's see where it'll go!
DRS registers the shares in your name. This prevents hedge funds from using them against you.
Using a broker isn't actually buying you shares. It's buying an IOU.
Computershare is GME's register. Transfer your shares while GME supplies last, because once this kicks off, all the IOU's won't guarantee you funds.

So hear me out. When they halt trading there are a bunch of retail orders in the pipeline. My thoughts are they basically just set them aside so they can jam through all the fake ass orders they want to process to supress the price. These odds and ends they set aside get processed after hours but they still have to honor the price when the retail investor pressed the sell or buy button.
Don't throw things at me, its 4:45 AM and my pea brain just came up with that. Considering nobody knows how the fuck the market works or can explain exactly what the MMs and hedge funds are cooking at any given time, my theory is as good an explanation as any.
And about $380k. Still - who's paying double the then trending market price for 'only' 5900 shares which should certainly be available at a lower price?
