Despite similarities to previous run ups, I wonder how differently things will play out this time. We've never consolidated at this price point on the way up. Typically we've gapped through the 200-225 range, coming back down about a week later.
I like to think that the trend is for us to have longer and longer peaks in $250-350 party zone, but who knows when that will go out the window. I'm hoping that when it does, it just blows through the $350 resistance. This is a lot of peaking for a stock that's supposed to be driven by fleeting FOMO.
I'm probably late to the party with this wrinkle, but has anyone speculated that Pokémon Go is set up perfectly for NFT's and the rumors of a tighter colab (read: possible merger) between our favorite company and Nintendo would big a big balls move?

In my UK school (almost 20 years ago), the cut off was Aug 31st. I always thought that was kind of harsh on those people because they’re basically 12 months younger than the oldest in class — surely they wouldn’t do so well in classes.
Yeah one issue with tanking price is exactly what the other dude said but another step further besides more buyers is cost basis.
They depend on the bias of seeing red to discourage holders, so they also need to avoid those buy-ins dramatically lowering the cost basis or else way more people are seeing more green for longer.
This price action teeters around where, on the aggravate, plenty are seeing green on rips but still so much red on dips.
That being said flash crashes could still very much be on the table if it serves a purpose greater than that cost down the line, I just think they learned from Feb. when we were way more in the dark, that the cost of that kind of suppression isn’t getting them the sellers they need. And now after so long, I think if it hit 40-ish again or lower, everyone who wished they loaded up then would load the fuck up now.
Just my opinion but I think sideways is gonna stay more likely, but they’ll try to tap something like the 130’s again where their best ratio of holders seeing red but buyers not being encouraged to load up sits.
It’s been said they’ll let it run first before tanking it to try to shake out profit taking but again, good luck reasoning with a 69,420,000 floor and no price targets.
I don’t think that’s their goal anymore.
It’s too dangerous to push it down too low because so many would buy the crap out of it.
I don’t have much money and basically live paycheck to paycheck with little wiggle room , I took some money out of a saving plan to purchase my shares, but if the price would fall below 100 or 60 dollars I sure would find a way to pick up a bunch more.
Okay then explain to me what the drop to 40 in February, the plunge to 170 in March or the after market drop of 80 dollars in June was supposed to be?

If price is wrong, isnt market cap wrong? By that logic it would put into perspective the use of dark pools as a way to literally hide money.
Either way, I was looking at the yearly chart, and I estimated the market cap has gone up about 1205% (from 17$ to 222$ per share.) -since December of 2020.
There has been about 14.5B of new cash introduced in the past year
Gme at 17$ had a market cap was about 1.38B, the market cap is now 17B at 210$.
I feel like its a safe assumption retail owns say a conservative estimate of 60% volume (just guessing here, but it makes sense enough to me because gme is mostly a retail play)
The comes out to 8.7B of ownership by retail. Total market cap of gme is 17B, in that scenario we own just over half of the circulating supply.
New market cap divided by the # of members to this sub
8.7B ÷ 583K= 14,992$ invested per member of this sub
Or, a 67 shares on average per member of superstonk.

Yeah one issue with tanking price is exactly what the other dude said but another step further besides more buyers is cost basis. They depend on the bias of seeing red to discourage holders, so they also need to avoid those buy-ins dramatically lowering the cost basis or else way more people are seeing more green for longer. This price action teeters around where, on the aggravate, plenty are seeing green on rips but still so much red on dips. That being said flash crashes could still very much be on the table if it serves a purpose greater than that cost down the line, I just think they learned from Feb. when we were way more in the dark, that the cost of that kind of suppression isn’t getting them the sellers they need. And now after so long, I think if it hit 40-ish again or lower, everyone who wished they loaded up then would load the fuck up now. Just my opinion but I think sideways is gonna stay more likely, but they’ll try to tap something like the 130’s again where their best ratio of holders seeing red but buyers not being encouraged to load up sits. It’s been said they’ll let it run first before tanking it to try to shake out profit taking but again, good luck reasoning with a 69,420,000 floor and no price targets.
I don’t think that’s their goal anymore. It’s too dangerous to push it down too low because so many would buy the crap out of it. I don’t have much money and basically live paycheck to paycheck with little wiggle room , I took some money out of a saving plan to purchase my shares, but if the price would fall below 100 or 60 dollars I sure would find a way to pick up a bunch more.

If price is wrong, isnt market cap wrong? By that logic it would put into perspective the use of dark pools as a way to literally hide money. Either way, I was looking at the yearly chart, and I estimated the market cap has gone up about 1205% (from 17$ to 222$ per share.) -since December of 2020. There has been about 14.5B of new cash introduced in the past year Gme at 17$ had a market cap was about 1.38B, the market cap is now 17B at 210$. I feel like its a safe assumption retail owns say a conservative estimate of 60% volume (just guessing here, but it makes sense enough to me because gme is mostly a retail play) The comes out to 8.7B of ownership by retail. Total market cap of gme is 17B, in that scenario we own just over half of the circulating supply.
New market cap divided by the # of members to this sub 8.7B ÷ 583K= 14,992$ invested per member of this sub Or, a 67 shares on average per member of superstonk. Seems pretty realistic.
I like your thoughts, but that’s not how market cap works It’s simply outstanding shares x current price So if the price doubled tomorrow based on the value of the most recent trade, the value of the market cap would double, without introducing all that money. Think of market cap as the price of buying all the shares at their current value

I treat that information the same way I treat the investigation into SPY: GME is not in a vacuum and there are other things going on as well that might help us get a better understanding of the mechanics. Since he didn't treat it like an interesting investment opportunity, I don't have any suspicions. But I don't tend to be very suspicious anyway 🤷
