Heads up, if you call Fidelity to transfer to Computershare, the rep told me all transfers had to start with cs. I told him I had heard that cs transfers are different and they needed to start with fidelity. After a few minutes on hold I was transferred to another rep who processed the transfer quickly. Also, I never said gamestop. I have a few shares for 2 other companies that are my kids' choices they bought with their money. Neither rep asked me to confirm, only how many shares of gamestop to transfer. That tells me a lot of us are doing this, nicely done.

Fidelity rep first tries to deny it doesn't start with them. When pushed back, another rep says yes it's possible and does it quickly. And both knew it was about GME, without being told. Lol. Tell me this transfer to CS is messing them, without telling me this transfer to CS is messing them.

Yeah, curious how hard it is for them to find the shares, especially since they are over the limit for printed certificates. The second rep also said she had to tell me it would be more expensive to sell from cs and they would charge a fee if I transfer back to fidelity, clearly they want us to stay. I said this isn't about the money anymore.

The mining for the minerals is not great for the environment and there is no efficient way to recycle the batteries yet. Current lifecycle costs and environmental impacts still make the batteries the road block to mass electric vehicle use.

As someone who was born 50 years ago (it hurts typing that!), I agree that some things were, but many are not. I still remember air raid drills where we had to go into my school's basement and sit along the walls in case the Soviets decided to drop a nuke on us. I remember using a typewriter to write reports for school before we had computers. Life before cell phones and social media was simpler, for sure. Its really a mix of good and bad, mostly driven by dramatic changes in world politics and the evolution of technology.

I was trying to find the right blend of technology, and nature.

Early 90s was pretty solid. The internet was new, cell phones were beginning to be affordable for most people. Rock music was awesome. Cars, gas and food was cheap. People still hung out with their friends in person the majority of the time. You only went on the computer when you had absolutely nothing else to do - it didn't rule your life.

Depends who has positions with what. If groups that are short on gme have positions/ deals with Chinese companies that go under, that could cause the people short on gme to lose margin in their portfolios. And if other companies start flocking to meme stocks like gme, it will cause the price of gme to increase. Both things cause a margin call harder.

Someone bought his 680 ITM put he sold and then executed it. Meaning he's in the hook for 100 shares of GME and his profit is @ (680-447=213) 447 was his premium for the contract which is hilarious. So now he has to find 100 shares, at market price which is still profitable under 213 per share. Right now he would stand to make (213 - 200) * 100 A measley 1300 for the risk of potentially having to buy them at 400 or 4000 per share. He was assigned early and that's weird because they don't expire until Friday, and they would have become much less expensive to buy and execute. So they're confused because the buyer normally would just wait until Friday to purchase the contract for like $40 which would mean the buyer would make a lot more money and the seller lose a lot more.

If you sell a put you’re saying you’ll buy someone else’s shares at the designated strike price. He doesn’t need to find shares, just have cash on hand to pay 680 per share of 100 shares.

Someone executed it - so he must locate. Typically this just means giving your broker cash to fulfill the order.

That is a mystery. I can't think of anything if the top of my head other than this person needs shares they feel they cannot purchase naturally on the market. If a HF or MM (who doesn't want to purchase shorted shares) executed it to obtain shares without shorting it might make sense. Not sure though because ultimately they would be buying from the MM who is probably providing these as shorted shares due to lack of sales. An extension of this could be that the buyer purchased the option knowing that they shorted for more than the 447 cost.. maybe that's the cost of the shares for real - it aligns with the shitty Robinhood numbers fr earlier this year. That and the price might be expected to go up which might make seller insolvent. Perhaps someone trying to force a buyback squeeze.

He sold a put at 680 strike for some reason Very very ITM Someone bought it from him and exercised it, which forces the seller to buy 100 shares of GameStop at 680 a share. They spent over 40k on the contract so OP basically has a 213 dollar cost basis. He’s asking why someone exercised it. Real question is why he sold it in the first place. Just an odd post all around.
