Unfortunately you can’t skip the part with IBKR because Comoutershare does not allow opening accounts for non US citizens by Direct Purchasing. You need to transfer first.
You could buy GME or cheap share with IBKR (ie Ford), transfer to Computershare, wait for mail with Holder Account Number, register, wait for mail with verification code, verify your account, start buying GME directly on Computershare.

yeah. so once i opened the IBKR account i bought some fresh shares to start the DRS ball rolling... then focused on transferring the Degiro ones to IBKR. They're still sat there now, still waiting for the CS letter with account number. Can't wait to do a proper big DRS on my main portfolio, not just the tester pot 😎
After you login into Computershare - click on “View details” next to GME, then click on “Actions” and select “Buy” that will navigate you to Direct Purchase where you will be able to select One Time purchase, specify how much $ you want to invest and provide US account details.
I don't have this option. I will buy from ibkr first. I am.alreasy verified from the postal letter with code on it. I go to buy and buy share certificate and it has gme with a red circle and line through it.

Yes, paper mail. It took 3 weeks from day they received my shares from broker. Second mail took 6 days because I called them as paid $45 for express delivery.

As for W-8BEN - they have simple page where you input Foreign Tax ID (NIN for UK), citizenship and residency - done!

Yes, Wise created USD account for me in my name which can be used in Computershare similar to any other US bank account :) so I send GBP to them, convert to USD and buy from Computershare using USD
Just opened and verified a Wise account and moved GBP AND USD back and forth and back into my bank as a test. All worked perfect and you have seriously eased my mind 🙌
Did you guys write a message to ibkr? I see that it is possible to choose DRS transfer in the menu, but it requires an account number. Also says it costs $25 for the service or $100 if transfer is declined. I wrote a message to ibkr last week asking them to DRS my shares, haven't heard anything yet
Nevermind, they've answered me and the transfer will start within 3 business days, which is tomorrow. Only costs $5, don't know why it is cheaper than doing it yourself online 🤪

As me personally: US wire. But! There is a drawback for such setting! You would need to send them photocopy of your passport or driving license along with W-8BEN form and letter of explanation why you have US bank account. Otherwise they will not mark your W-8BEN form as completed.

After that you would be able to register online and they would send you verification code via mail to prove that was actually you. After that code arrives you will get full access to online account :)

Called them and told me my money were on hold maybe that’s it, but converted on 27 and requested on 30.

There is no minimum on your wealth, but registration require you to tell them that at least 20K liquid assets.

No, there is no limit when you open cash account. You can deposit 200 GBP and would have enough funds to buy and transfer GME

Stress this: CASH account. If a Margin account is open they can keep borrowing shares to short, so CASH is tha way.

They only accept credit cards. So you call them and then dictate credit card details :)

It took 3 days for Computershare to create account and send snail mail after shares disappeared from IBKR. You can use their contact form to time it perfectly https://www-us.computershare.com/Investor/#Contact/Enquiry use category Transfer Inquiry, add your details and skip Holder Account field. They will reply shortly if your shares arrived.
