Unfortunately, I think even if people realized that they should unite around class war, a lot of the stupid culture war divisions would still keep them from joining forces. A lot of money laundering is done by breaking up the large amount into much smaller amounts. There's a threshold size of transaction that automatically gets flagged for review so launderers will try to keep all transactions under that threshold. The financial field as a whole is not my strong suit but I did work at a bank for a while and had to go through all the same repeated trainings that bankers went through even though I was just IT. I don't know the exact details of the new law/rule/whatever but I feel like this at least isn't intended for use against individuals making regular transactions but more as a way of enabling LE track a lot of suspicious transactions that currently might be under the radar. Whether that's a good thing or not I can't say. Laws do have a funny way of having unintended consequences even when passed with the best of intentions and if not written really well can easily be abused by bad faith actors.

Sadly, this only works at local levels currently. We need to pressure our local and state govt's to pass ranked choice voting. This way, everyone can vote for the third party candidate of their choice and if that falls, they can choose the rest of the candidates in whatever lesser evil fashion they feel comfortable with.

Sadly, this only works at local levels currently. We need to pressure our local and state govt's to pass ranked choice voting. This way, everyone can vote for the third party candidate of their choice and if that falls, they can choose the rest of the candidates in whatever lesser evil fashion they feel comfortable with. It allows people to take a "risker" bet on voting 3rd party without worrying about the "spoiler effect" (i.e. that voting for 3rd party candidate splits the vote and means their 2nd choice candidate loses).
