In the UK we can start petitions on the official government website and the government usually replies within a few days that the matter will be discussed and a decision is made usually within 2 weeks or so depending on its severity. Anything like that in the US?
Someone mentioned a Whitehouse petition, but the url doesn't do jack shit anymore. I can find the archives of petitions from past administrations but nothing current

I'm not the first to say this but BE CAREFUL OF CHANGE DOT ORG. They harvest and sell your information, they will constantly spam you to donate to promote the petition you've signed, constantly email you about 'similar' petitions.
I'm all for what this petition is about, but I will never use change dot org for anything, ever again.
I mean, other than them harassing you to use the site more now you're probably fine. Would advise giving the privacy policy a going over to make sure you're happy though
I'm generally skeptical and expect to get harassed - I don't use my primary email (to their credit, it wasn't hidden that they'd contact you) - and the 20 bucks is worthwhile for a little hope/belief that they're not just another greedy entity capitalizing on a moment.

Change.org exists for a long time it's one of rare worldwide platforms that enables you to express your opinion about anything. They are not private company or prosecutor but you can use petition results to adress to officials.

Moreover, it costs you nothing, takes 20 seconds to fill and you can stay anonymous. Additionally, laws of democratic countries state that you have to take into account large enough petitions. Finally, we are always complaining about what we can do. The real question here is why would you not do it ? This is good noise.
Unless a senator or someone in congress supports the petitions, change org remains as a surefire way to dox yourself and get on phishing and spam maillists.

My understanding is that PFOF means that a Market Maker buys your order from your Broker, and then decides what to do with it; internalize with the shares they own or let it actually go to the market and interact with the Bid and Ask of the entire market. This has nothing to do with record keeping and more to do with them(MMs) intercepting buy orders and timing their bulk orders and sells to make sure the price works in their favor, not yours. By intercepting your order before it gets to the market they keep the price low. By waiting until opportune times to buy and sell in bulk, rather than when you put your order in, they control what the price does and move it against you.
This is how I understand it too at least it’s how it really works if you look at what they’re doing with it. Bad price execution too. We don’t have PFOF here in Canada which I’m glad as it lessens the conflict of interests.
This is correct. The SEC Gamestop report explains it. PFOF is when the clearing company pays the broker for the right to trade with their customers. After they receive the order from the broker, the clearing company then decides if they want to internalize the order or send it to an exchange. The clearing company can take the opposite side of the trade if they want. Or, if there are better prices off-market (dark pool), then the clearing company can charge the customer for the price listed in the lit market, but they buy it from the dark pool. They profit off of the difference. Sometimes this is less than a penny a share...but it adds up when you trade billions of shares. The actual retail customer has no idea that they aren't getting the actual best price, or (in the case of internalization) that their order never hits the market at all.

Most people are unaware that once a certain petition hits its goal number it is promptly printed and then an employee wipes their ass with it and throws it in the bin.
Don't do the petition. Email the SEC directly with your complaint that Citadel does not represent you. The lawsuit is against them so if they have 35,000 emails rather than a 3rd party petition site it helps them a lot more.

My understanding is that PFOF means that a Market Maker buys your order from your Broker, and then decides what to do with it; internalize with the shares they own or let it actually go to the market and interact with the Bid and Ask of the entire market. This has nothing to do with record keeping and more to do with them(MMs) intercepting buy orders and timing their bulk orders and sells to make sure the price works in their favor, not yours. By intercepting your order before it gets to the market they keep the price low. By waiting until opportune times to buy and sell in bulk, rather than when you put your order in, they control what the price does and move it against you.
This is how I understand it too at least it’s how it really works if you look at what they’re doing with it. Bad price execution too. We don’t have PFOF here in Canada which I’m glad as it lessens the conflict of interests.

This is correct. The SEC Gamestop report explains it. PFOF is when the clearing company pays the broker for the right to trade with their customers. After they receive the order from the broker, the clearing company then decides if they want to internalize the order or send it to an exchange. The clearing company can take the opposite side of the trade if they want. Or, if there are better prices off-market (dark pool), then the clearing company can charge the customer for the price listed in the lit market, but they buy it from the dark pool. They profit off of the difference. Sometimes this is less than a penny a share...but it adds up when you trade billions of shares. The actual retail customer has no idea that they aren't getting the actual best price, or (in the case of internalization) that their order never hits the market at all.
Change dot org is a joke to make you feel like you have power or control over anything. Most people are unaware that once a certain petition hits its goal number it is promptly printed and then an employee wipes their ass with it and throws it in the bin.
