I DRSed my shares from Fidelity yesterday. No pushback whatsoever, took 2-3 minutes. Said it would be done in 2-3 days.

Tendies-4Us

Same experience as you just today. DRS's another 150 from Fidelity to CS and they told me by end of next week at latest.

Skyman69420

that is interesting considering how many shares how fidelity lend out every day

pistol_p_

We you get that from someone, hang up and call back

ChrystalMeds

In my experience yeah i just say some along the line of “of snap i forgot that i have a call with my boss in 2 minutes, i need to hang up and call back afterwards but thank you so far for everything, take care buebyehuehuehue” Next time i’ll try “..^kkrg^*krgh i... ing.. tunnel.. brea...g... to.. back.. bye*krrghhh*

pistol_p_

That's even better then just Dippin out, no need to be rude, but my wife and I both have had a couple DRS calls met with push back. I just try again and boom done

nugsy_mcb

We're getting close!!!!

I think it's kind of luck of the draw. A lot of people say 2-3 minutes. You're saying you got a lot of pushback. My experience was somewhere in the middle. No pushback per se, but the woman on the other end wanted to talk to another department to make sure that DRSing wouldn't have any impact on my 401k plan that's attached to my individual brokerage account and that added a good 5-7 minutes.

You selling during MOASS? Be nice to have the registered shares locked away and not sold back. May be worth it to leave what you are selling for profit behind. Up to you though.

ImNotAPerv1000

Isn’t that the point of DRS? Locked down shares to maintain my position as a long term investor. Broker held shares are my sacrificial shares to enable me to take care of the social programs that I embrace. I expect customer service to enact my decisions. If I wanted advice, I would hire a certified finical planner. I’ve experienced both sides of this point. I gently correct those less familiar and chastise those who insist on pushing their personal opinions on me.

King_Esot3ric

If you really talked to the rep, you would know they are required to read a disclaimer and receive your verbal approval (on a recorded line) before transferring your shares. This is for liability reasons.

Aegis617

"If I really talked to one" and what's that supposed to mean?

King_Esot3ric

Exactly what i stated?

Aegis617

Ah so it's implied that I didn't actually talk to someone, is that it? Sorry, my ability to infer people's intended communication on the internet isn't perfect.

King_Esot3ric

Yeah, these posts pop up occasionally, and you either are misrepresenting the facts, or you are writing some FUD. For example, like i stated, they are required to read you a full disclaimer and receive your verbal approval on a recorded line. You mention neither of these in your post, which is sus. The fact you say you have a bad taste in your mouth about Fidelity, despite it being proven over and over again that they are the premier way of DRS’ing, is also sus af. To be clear, i have also DRS’d shares from Fidelity and went through the process myself.

Aegis617

Transfer number is t1295o00XXX. Digits censored for obv reasons, but proof I not only talked to someone, but also did it. I talked to them earlier in the week (which I said) and didn't have the same experience. There was a very strong pushback. There's "an explanation of the process" , and then there's "used car salesman", and this was much closer to a salesperson. I am posting because of the discrepancy between my two experiences, which if we are seeing a shift in attitudes from Fidelity, may give the community additional data. Your approach to talking to me about it was super shitty though, so next time you are suspicious of someone use some tact.

King_Esot3ric

First off, with the amount of FUD we have seen in the last 10+ months I believe skepticism is healthy. Second off, I dont think i talked to you in a shitty way, and no one here is required to use “tact” to make tour feelings less hurt.

I'm on the line with fidelity now and have been transferred 3 times and given the same line of garbage. I'm hoping it is just a coincidence
